Jenny, loving the content. It's really great to have someone on UA-cam as frank and as simple as your setup is. I think it's great and I hope you continue with this format.
Lots of niche comics have made it big! My favorite was Mitch Headberg. Not to mention I'm sure her material would not be limited to Star Wars and comics.
I also love Mitch Hedberg! I wouldn't call him niche though. You need not possess any specific knowledge or interest to find him funny. He does have a distinct style... one liners and absurdist themes, but i wouldn't call it niche. But I do agree overall with you... Jenny's dry delivery and confidence would certainly lend itself to stand-up.
I hope I'm not too late to tell you about my fan theory. "The Rebel Alliance will still be fighting a rebellion 30 years after the Battle of Endor. The Empire gets a new name and is ran by teenage looking gingers. Also it turns out the force is pretty EZ. Also, all of the planets in Starwars orbit the same star." It's a long shot, but I have a good feeling about this.
I kind of like the home video aesthetic. If she ever builds a set I hope it's still covered in ponies. I think Jenny's next equipment purchase should be a good audio recorder, it's not uncommon for video producers to say that audio is the most important component.
Of course you are free to....this is just a thing such as etiquette and consideration that seems to be lost these days online. Such as I am the same person on the internet as in real life. There was a time I thought I knew something about lore. You've taken it to another level that gave me a mild brain aneurysm, and now I can't talk words good. You're good at stuff. The end.
Another great video. I really love her analysis here. It taps into what is really wrong with a lot of the Star Wars fan community, which in my opinion is that most don't have a good sense of storytelling. I don't know if this is largely from younger fans who grew up on the prequels but I see it a lot in these kinds of fan theories, fans defending the old EU sanctimoniously, and of course prequel apologists who inject SO much fan theories into those films to get them to make a lick of sense or have any emotional impact. The fact is TFA got Star Wars right, most of the motives and emotions are out there on the table. Stuff like Kylo being upset and conflicted at the end of TFA is not reading a whole lot into that character, it is all there on screen with Driver's great performance.
Kylo wasn't punching himself because he was mad at himself. He was punch the wound to make himself more angry, and we all know what anger does to a force user... and possibly to numb the pain.
People are weird about Kylo; He was literally crying and losing his mind in that last scene. When he popped up and said, "We're not done yet", he literally looked like he was sobbing. You want to HUG the guy!
I've always believed that Kyle was beyond redemption since he killed Han, but what you're saying does make quite a bit of sense. Rian Johnson's got his work cut out for him though; it's not easy to redeem yourself after killing one of the most iconic characters ever. But it's also not impossible...
If Kylo Ren can't be redeemed because he killed Han Solo, then explain to me why Darth Vader, someone who slaughtered 30 children, kills his employees, killed his own wife, nearly killed his own son, can get redeemed but not Kylo?
Church of the Latter Day Shrek There is no reason Kylo can't be redeemed, except that he's a conflicted, sensitive soul and the fanboys hate him. They wanted him to be Darth Maul 2.0 and instead they got the most complex and interesting SW character to date. They are still in the second stage of grief over this.
Hey Jenny... you know you gotta do a video about the dumbest theories about episode IX right? Especially after that teaser trailer. ... Please? 🙏🙇🏻 ... Pretty please? 🥺 ... Porg-y please? 🐥
The logic is strong, and the way you say it makes it funny. I can't believe I enjoy video this much that is literally just a monologue discussing fan theories.
In the Star Wars, Episode VII, The Force Awakens novel, it is made clear that killing Han Solo made Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) weaker and ill. Kylo thought it would make him pure in the Dark Side and strong(er); but, to his surprise he was weakened and didn't feel well. Han Solo was afraid of his son. He loved him, but feared he was turned completely. It was Leia who convinced Han to try. It was out of guilt and love for Leia that Han tried to convince Kylo Ren to return with them as Ben Solo. I am able to accept Kylo Ren staying bad or Ben Solo being redeemed by the end of Episode IX. BTW, I found your channel via Collider Video's Jedi Council show. I enjoy your comedic style. Keep up the good work. 😉
Anybody who thinks that Kylo isn't going to redeem himself is pretty foolish. The whole battle with the light is clear set-up to him encountering his mother and subsequently helping them defeat Snoke.
i like the idea of Kylo Ren just being a bad guy. i agree it wouldn't be cool if Rey murdered him or something but him becoming good sounds really out of character to me.
also what about Finn theories? i've heard none and he was my favorite character in episode vii. John Boyega hinted that Finn would be more collected and less of a coward in the new movies so that's interesting. I guess he becomes part of the Resistance but I doubt they will like send him on missions or something. Also I hope he gets the lightsaber back even if its just like a dumb payoff where he has to help Rey or something he looked really cool with the lightsaber.
Well Lando got a little drunk at the ewok party at the end of ROTJ and met Finn's ewok mother there. There gonna show it as flashbacks in ep 8 and it's gonna be brilliant
I loved your video. Even the bits that I didn't agree with were thought provoking and amusing. "Kyle Ren hitting himself and sweating... Are not the actions of a guy who is satisfied with the way his life is going"; lol brilliant line.
Strictly speaking, it's still possible Rey is Luke's daughter. JJ did say her parentS aren't in TFA. Her ONE parent, Luke, is. Her (most likely deceased, maybe killed by Kylo Ren) mother is not Just one way to interpret it. Whether she's Rey Solo, Rey Skywalker, or Rey Random, I hope it's a pretty good reveal Also, as for your number 1 point - I agree with you. But it's important to note that in ancient Rome, there was pretty much an exact wording that there is no specific law for patricide because it's such a horrible crime that it's unimaginable to occur. I believe this was even in JJ's mind when he went through with it. And I know it's an event that's preserved from George's treatments, from which we still don't know how much was used or not
Oh my I need to quote this " I don't know who among you is watching that last fight scene where he was stumbling drunkenly around, dripping with sweat and punching his self and saying to yourself this looks like a man who is satisfied with the direction his life is going.
It'll be a bit of downer if the Skywalker line ends with Kylo Ren. Hoping there's another Solo or Skywalker roaming around the galaxy somewhere. Beginning to seriously doubt Rey is Luke's child now given that info in the latest novel seems to make that outcome less likely.
I agree about Kylo Ren not being a double agent. Not only for all the reasons you mention with his actions and behavior. But also because it would rob the viewers of getting to watch and experience his redemption. If it's revealed "oh wow Kylo was already good the whole time!" then we miss out on his character development. I DO think "finish what you started" will have a poetic twist later in the trilogy, but not in the way the people who think he is already good do. When Kylo Ren says "finish what you started" in TFA, he doesn't know it but that pledge is hollow. I believe Kylo Ren sincerely thinks that whatever Vader "started" is something in regards to the Darkside, claiming power, ruling, balancing the force through evil acts. something along those lines. He is choosing evil at that point, and he thinks choosing evil is what his granddad would want of him. But we in the audience know about Anakin's end of life return to the Light. At this point, I think Kylo is either unaware of Anakin's end of life conversion, or thinks it is a lie from his mother and Luke to placate him. However, eventually, on his path to redemption, he will turn away from evil, perhaps in defeating evil by defeating Snoke or perhaps by embarking on a new, balanced jedi path, a nod to Anakin's destiny of restoring balance. In some way, Kylo Ren will fulfill a positive, good-guy version of the "finish what you started" pledge, he just doesn't know it yet. That line is not ambiguous because Kylo is being ambiguous, it is ambiguous so that Kylo can discover a new meaning for it later. He hasn't discovered that yet.
Well Anakin gave no fucks bout trying to kill Obi-Wan in Episode 3 and gave even less fucks killing him in Episode 4. So Kylo killing Han doesn't have to be his turning point.
Rey is the Rancor's daughter. Luke only saw that kind of raw strength once before. It didn't scare him enough then. It does now.

Jenny, loving the content. It's really great to have someone on UA-cam as frank and as simple as your setup is. I think it's great and I hope you continue with this format.
Well... this was confirmed (re.: an "old character" being a "new character"). The dumb thing happened.
Seriously I think you would be great at stand-up.
this girl's funny. But stand-up has to be broad appeal. No one is getting a crowd full of star wars nerds/comic geeks at their stand up show.
Lots of cons have nerdy stand-up. I could see her doing that.
Sienfeld started out with Superman jokes
Describing Ren's last act of self sacrifice as THE ULTIMATE FAN EXPERIENCE absolutely slew me.
I don't know why but this gives me early 2000s ukulele tutorial vibes
I hope I'm not too late to tell you about my fan theory. "The Rebel Alliance will still be fighting a rebellion 30 years after the Battle of Endor. The Empire gets a new name and is ran by teenage looking gingers. Also it turns out the force is pretty EZ. Also, all of the planets in Starwars orbit the same star."
It's a long shot, but I have a good feeling about this.
Crazy theory "Jenny Nicholson" is a real human being.
"Just because it happened, doesn't mean it's a good idea"
god damn I wish I could tell this to any dudebros who whinge about the sanctity of canon
I like when, 6 years ago, we assumed that the sequel story makes any sense.
This really foreshadows the Bronycon video.
you remind me so much of Lilly from 'The Princess Diaries' ^-^
There's so much grain in your videos that you could feed an entire African village.
I kind of like the home video aesthetic.
If she ever builds a set I hope it's still covered in ponies.
I think Jenny's next equipment purchase should be a good audio recorder, it's not uncommon for video producers to say that audio is the most important component.
***** would have*
Is that a complaint? About free entertaining content..........Or just funnies?
You're absolutely allowed to criticize free content anyway.
Of course you are free to....this is just a thing such as etiquette and consideration that seems to be lost these days online. Such as I am the same person on the internet as in real life. I would gander that most people commenting critically on the interwebs wouldn't be as bold or critical in person.
I'm not sure how many comments are about the description about the video but this is becoming one of my favorite subscriptions
The guys at Collider Movie Talk/Jedi Council love you!
Rightfully so!
Jenny, the folks at Collider Jedi Council love your previous vid(Rey meeting Luke), and would like you to be a guest on the show.
Are they going to love her after this since they are part of the problem when it comes to some of these theories?
GeekFurious John Campea seems to enjoy people with different opinions, since he is aware that opinions are alsways subjective. And it is mostly Kristian Harloff who just cannot let go of Plagueis, but he also seems like someone that will not bash her.
which episode did they talk about her?
You deserve more than 100,000+ subscribers. Whether for your insight or your sense of humor or even your unabashed love for all things nerdy/awesome, you definitely deserve a larger audience. Actually, you deserve the largest audience.
The video quality isn't the best, but the audio is basically perfect, and most people would prefer that than the reverse.
Get on Twitter!
There was a time I thought I knew something about lore. You've taken it to another level that gave me a mild brain aneurysm, and now I can't talk words good. You're good at stuff. The end.
Kylo didn't go to the gravesite. A bounty hunter retrieved the helmet. It's a neat story actually.
I'm picturing Hux saying this over a glass of wine
Figures that Hux's nom de guerre is some made-up sounding Star Wars-y name like Saniel Dingleton.
HYPERMATTER CAN'T MELT DURASTEEL. THE HELMET IS A LIE
Where did you hear that? I had not seen that story yet.
Blake Segafredo Delilah S. Dawson‘s short story The Perfect Weapon, published in November as one of those “Journey to The Force Awakens” tie-ins.
I just love finding new awesome UA-camrs! Thanks for making videos. Love your tone/humor. :D
Rey's father is Lone Starr!
Her father is Starlord
"There is even a second group of even DUMBER people...", my god this is funny because of your awesome deadpan delivery AND because it's true.
Am I the only one that's going to address how many my little ponies she has?...
Yes, I believe you are.
she wins on content and brand marketing strategy
That would only stick out if she was a fat bearded man. So yeah.
Clearly, you haven't seen the videos where she bathes them Lol
+fran13r They're called 'Bronies'!
I love that I'm finding these 7 years later. Absolutely gold
Killing Han Solo is irredeemable! killing toddlers? That's a-ok, step right up to the light
This footage is grainier than the sand Anakin hates so much. Good thoughts though.
I loved the video, but I was mesmerized by how your hair changed after every cut. It was pretty entertaining.
BB-8-ASMR plz
That would be BB-Gr8.
+Ayy lmao I r8 8BB8s out of 8
+Ayy lmao
Why not "That would BB-Gr8"? You already had the B.
that joke was too BB-L8
+Gremlyn That would have been better.
I've always believed that Kyle was beyond redemption since he killed Han, but what you're saying does make quite a bit of sense. Rian Johnson's got his work cut out for him though; it's not easy to redeem yourself after killing one of the most iconic characters ever. But it's also not impossible...
I'm at work now so I can't devote any attention, but I know as soon as I watch this I'll love it. Gonna thumb up in advance!
I like that you cut people off from their vindication. The phrase, "You don't get to feel vindicated." cracked me up. Way to go Jenny!
If Kylo Ren can't be redeemed because he killed Han Solo, then explain to me why Darth Vader, someone who slaughtered 30 children, kills his employees, killed his own wife, nearly killed his own son, can get redeemed but not Kylo?
Because he died five minutes later, that's why
Church of the Latter Day Shrek There is no reason Kylo can't be redeemed, except that he's a conflicted, sensitive soul and the fanboys hate him. They wanted him to be Darth Maul 2.0 and instead they got the most complex and interesting SW character to date. They are still in the second stage of grief over this.
I'm glad I saw your "If Rey is a Skywalker video" a while ago. I'll subscribe, and go back and watch your older videos when I get time. Fun channel!
Hey Jenny... you know you gotta do a video about the dumbest theories about episode IX right? Especially after that teaser trailer.
...
Please? 🙏🙇🏻
...
Pretty please? 🥺
...
Porg-y please? 🐥
The style of this video is beautiful! Ponies in the background, fashion, and the faded look of the video.
"fun family movie adventure" *thinks about Han Solo's death*
Aw man, a calm huge nerd of Star Wars, what a rare sight :D Congratulations with your channel, calmness really does pay off !
Please make as many Star Wars videos as you want!
I've never commented on UA-cam before.
You are doing fine
I will forever love her quips about the AMC popcorn.
Okay, you've won me over. Bloody hilarious. Subscribed!
The logic is strong, and the way you say it makes it funny. I can't believe I enjoy video this much that is literally just a monologue discussing fan theories.
This camera gives the clip that That Poppy charme. The 5 billion ponys make it kinda creepy.
Thank you for putting into words what I've been thinking this whole time
I tots enjoyed these 8 mins and agree 100%. Also, the force ghost thing needed to be said.
I can't handle how much I enjoy these. Please continue making videos - you're hilarious!
i like the idea of Kylo Ren just being a bad guy. i agree it wouldn't be cool if Rey murdered him or something but him becoming good sounds really out of character to me.
You're my new favorite UA-camr. Your humor just gets me you know. It just... it makes me laugh.
also what about Finn theories? i've heard none and he was my favorite character in episode vii.
Edward Brink call me satisfied
I loved your video. Even the bits that I didn't agree with were thought provoking and amusing. "Kyle Ren hitting himself and sweating... Are not the actions of a guy who is satisfied with the way his life is going"; lol brilliant line.
Why does this look like it was filmed in 2008
Strictly speaking, it's still possible Rey is Luke's daughter. JJ did say her parentS aren't in TFA. Her ONE parent, Luke, is. Her (most likely deceased, maybe killed by Kylo Ren) mother is not
Just one way to interpret it. Whether she's Rey Solo, Rey Skywalker, or Rey Random, I hope it's a pretty good reveal
Also, as for your number 1 point - I agree with you. But it's important to note that in ancient Rome, there was pretty much an exact wording that there is no specific law for patricide because it's such a horrible crime that it's unimaginable to occur. I believe this was even in JJ's mind when he went through with it. And I know it's an event that's preserved from George's treatments, from which we still don't know how much was used or not
How come your audio quality is so good compared to the camera quality?
I have a yeti mic from doing voiceover stuff, + computer's bad webcam
+Jenny Nicholson ah yea I've got one too. Figured that was the case. Sounds great btw.
Jenny, never get a better camera. It's better this way.
because she has a good mic and a bad camera.... that was a hard one for me to put together
She'd be too cute in HD...no one would pay attention to what she's saying.
Oh my I need to quote this " I don't know who among you is watching that last fight scene where he was stumbling drunkenly around, dripping with sweat and punching his self and saying to yourself this looks like a man who is satisfied with the direction his life is going.
No, you're wrong, J.J. Abrams is just like Rumpelstiltskin.
I shot soda out of my nose when you referenced labyrinth. Keep making these! You are hilarious.
"We're all buddies as ghosts" glad I stuck around for that one
Snoke DEFINITELY has a Reddit account.
Palpatine: I set up that account, apparently
Keep your camera.
It's kinda part of her style now, isn't it?
Its the reason this channel reminds me of the golden days of UA-cam
RUINED UNSUBSCRIBED
I have heard these ideas before but the way you say them sounds more convincing thanks for passing them on!
Well Anakin gave no fucks bout trying to kill Obi-Wan in Episode 3 and gave even less fucks killing him in Episode 4. So Kylo killing Han doesn't have to be his turning point.
Episode 4* not 6.
Lol, the more I watch your videos, the more genuinely hilarious I find you to be. Keep on being awesome. The haters can cram it up their cram holes.
