I love how at ease and disinterested people are with the cameraman filming away, simpler times and people were less misinformed in some ways too. Also less of a tyrannical era compared to these days. If I had to guess the exact year in that decade this got filmed, I'd go with 1991. Great footage this.
It makes me feel like crying, I was brought up in Dartford, worked for the market and lots of great memories in the rez under the bridge on my crosser. Sad to see if 15year later
@Hitogokochi So we meet again! Actually them houses that got all boarded up years ago to be knocke down but just stood there-buling new houses + apartments from company Bellway-you must know this?? They have also put new ground/roads in where the bustops near Dartford Park were!
@Hitogokochi But thought you might of seen it on social media as been a lot on there about the regeneration of Dartford couple of years back! As I said they are making it the old Dartford again so you won't be depressed! Where you living now??
@Hitogokochi Rather silly question, sking if looked ar modernday buildings-you can't get way from them when walking about, on TV, Papers/Mags, Social Media. etc Like that in many countries around the world about the pandemic espplaces like Australia, New Zealand. etc The European Union need to stop throwing their toys out the god damn pram first!
The year is 1994 because there is a Ford Mondeo in the distance background and the Mondeo didn't go on the production line until 1993 replacing the Sierra models dating from 1982
I remember it as the Arndale Centre. I moved away when I was about 7 but have so many happy memories of going to town on a Saturday with my mum and nan. Going in Phillips toy shop, Woolworths etc. Stopping off at a cafe for tea and then walking back to the multistory car park to drive home. In the afternoon i'd play with the toy that i'd just been bought while the footy results were announced on tv and I waited to watch the A Team.
THis is late 1980's as I saw Marks and Spencer part of the signage still on there. Apparently that shut in 1991 when Lakeside had opened. So it's 1990 at latest or late 1980's.
@@lewisculverwellvlogs9789 I did say 1990 in there " So it's 1190 at latest" as I know the M and S shut around the time Lakeside opened. God such a long time ago.
Outside the shopping centre there are cars passing like the old Ford Escort and there was a MK2 Ford Fiesta parked in the background and that was the time the MK2 Fiesta got replaced by a MK3 Fiesta with 5 doors for the very first time
There must be a mixture of footage from different years then. I moved to dartford to study at uni of greenwich in 93-96 and the holder of the sweetie stall in the video moved from eastbourne to dartford whilst i was there to live with us in our digs. So some footage is defo after 93.
How old were you when you had family down Dartford way, I remember when this opened when I was 7 really good memories-what do you remember?? ah cool I'm from Bexleyheath in Kent not far from Dartford :-]
@@mikekaraoke in fairness Lakeside led to both the Marks and Spencer closures both in Dartford and Grays in Essex and Bhs in Dartford so Lakeside started it off.

@@gabriellaj.o.6180 Yea this is def Dartford in the 80's, Yea Lakeside opened in early 1990. And started being built in the 80's in 1987
