  • This is our first time visiting the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and it was an amazing adventure. Beautiful scenery and heavily corrugated road. The camps are top class and this was just our first day.
    We spent the first night at Twee Rivieren and then made our way to Mata Mata.
    We are camping in Gunnland our 79 series Land Cruiser and it remains our favourite way to see Africa!
    We accidentally shot this trip with an incorrect frame rate - so enjoy this a a more vlog style episode from us :)

    Always lekker to follow along with you two, thanks! Heading back to Kg in Oct this year …🎉 i believe those two were Bat Eared Foxes … darker faces than the Capey’s.

    Lekker man! Luister na die Nonnetjiesuil wat roep by 21:36 en die Witkoluiltjie net daarna. Let op die "Cape Foxes" of Silwerfosse was eintlik Bakoorjakkalse.

    Just re-watched this - we live in Aussie, I've never been to Africa, unlike my wife...she saw the ostriches & said she was terrified by them over there haha! I think they're much bigger than an Emu or even a Cassowary (now THEY are scary birds!!). The wildlife you show us just leaves me in awe, thank you so much to you both ✌️👍🙏

      Hi Catherine!! That is so amazing to hear!!! When we went we didn’t overnight, so hesitant to just recommend anything without having done so.
      There is fuel at Twee Rivieren (also the other campsites we stayed at - Mata Mata and Nossob) just take some cash, when we went their card machine was offline.. The shops inside the park are very basic, I would stock up with those supplies from home 😊😊

    Thanks for your videos! Why don’t you get yourself a gas fire lighter, very useful things. Also, what do you use your Jackery for, as you obviously have a dual battery system? Just interested as I have just bought a River Pro

    • @GunnlandExplores
      @GunnlandExplores  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching 😁 Should definitely invest in a proper lighter!! We use the Jackery to charge camera batteries, laptops, drones etc (more sensitive electronics) The Jackery has a pure sine wave inverter for this - we haven’t as yet connected an inverter to the dual battery setup.

    Love it. Thanks very much. Interesting thing; in my Kgalagadi video (ua-cam.com/video/38A8fqMvKrA/v-deo.html) I also referred to the fox as Cape Fox. However, it turns out that is the Bat-eared Fox. The Cape Fox (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_fox?wprov=sfti1) looks a bit like a jackal and the Bat-eared Fox (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat-eared_fox?wprov=sfti1) has the arched back. Interesting that we both made this mistake.

    Question on your Cruiser, did you do the 2nd and 5th modification and is the cruiser other wise standard, exhaust?

    • @GunnlandExplores
      @GunnlandExplores  Рік тому

      Hey man, nope we didn’t do it, I thought about it but since we’ve gone up to 35s I don’t think it’s necessary - maybe someone can jump in here but my understanding is it a game changer mod, but if you go that big on tyres it’s not needed. I have only done the exhaust so far, but I think in the near future I will be looking at mapping the cruiser and changing the clutch 😊
