Hi Luke, It’s been over a year since I first came across your channel. Back then, I was preparing for the IELTS exam and lacked confidence. To improve, I started listening to your podcast regularly. What an incredible teacher you are! ❤ You’ve been enlightening hundreds of thousands of lives through your passion, including mine. I’m thrilled to share that I took the IELTS last week and scored a 7.0. Keep up the amazing work! ❤❤
Hiii! My name is Agniva i am from kolkata. I speak English but bengali being my native language sometimes I run out of words & confidence to speak further. I am looking for someone who will speak to me in English on call . I am dropping this text here, if you find this useful we can speak over call.

Hi Luke, thanks a lots, a funny and extremely useful episode! Understanding what double negatives mean will definitely help me avoid using them. ‘Eggcorn’ is a nice word. And I’m really looking forward to a World quiz with Stephen Devincenzi
Hello! Teacher Luke. Very nice to listen to any episodes of you. I am one of the ninja that have listened for 1 year. I listen to your episodes every day. I am from Thailand. Thank very much for your knowledge.
I was waiting for a new podcast episode, and here it is🤩. Thank you🤗! Luke, I can't really tell you how grateful I am for what you do, for your work and your Podcast🌟. I listen with pleasure, and I enjoy each and every episode of your Podcast💯. God bless you😇! I wanted to tell you something. Christmas is coming, and I was wondering if you could please do a Christmas episode😁🎄!?
Hi, Luke! Of course, you are my favourite teacher and I, who also teach English and Spanish/Catalan in Barcelona) have introduced you to my students at school. But I don't want to talk about English, sorry. I want to talk about English music. You talk a lot about Beatles and Stones... I'd also like to hear about ELP, Yes, Genesis, Van der Graf Generator/Peter Hammil, King Crimson/ Robert Frip, Caravan, Camel, Hardfield and the North, Bowie, Keith Tipped Band... and, more recently, Steve Wilson/Porcupine Tree.... These are also great British musicians and listeners who don't know them might be interested in progressive rock in England, if they knew them. That's my 2025 idea. Cheers Luke! You are the best!
speaking about "ain't no", I can't help but recall - "tell me tell me tell me, come on tell me the answer, well you maybe a lover, but you ain't no dancer"
One of those Beatles songs where I like the cover version (by Dana Fuchs) even more than the original. I know you’re never allowed to say that cover is better than original, but IMO it’s the highest praise a songwriter can receive when their song is so amazing that it can be performed by someone else and still be great - or even better:)
Hi Luke, Maria Luisa from Rome. Just to tell you that 2 days ago, while listenig to this episode ....I slipped on the pavement and I hurt the same Knee last year I broke.....when listening to you I' m complerely absorbed and focused on the super pleasant things ypu propose. Big funziona of you, but it seems you are becoming a bit "dangerous" for perplessità who like you so much😂
Sorry about your knee! Please be careful on the cobbled streets or Rome! I quite like the idea of "Big Funzonia!" ~it sounds like some sort of dangerous amusement park or something!
Hi Luke, I have a question, It's out of cultural differences, I was wondering don't people worry about their kids or even afraid of other drunk people on the street? I feel it's dangerous if a drunk person grab your arm or something and talk to you since they are not fully conscious of what they are doing?
I think people do worry about drunk people in the street to be honest, but usually it's not a problem. You don't come across drunk people that often, and usually they aren't a problem, but of course you do need to be aware of what's going on and avoid people who could be dangerous in any way.
Sii claro .... like a "yes of course", but not positive, is negative "si claro" in a short speck equal "yes of couse". but "sii claaro" longer is equal "of course not"sorry for my english steel learning
Teacher Luke,is that you in pics with Andy!oh,remember I used to listen to that episode often, when I was new listeners, that voice in that episode doesn’t sound like you now in this “bit’s and bob”,anyway ,I am just saying, may be should n’t comment like this, from this onwards, I won’t like that.i love all of you all.
Yes, it is me! It’s funny how you think there are lots of different. Lukes (I’ve read your other comments). It’s me every time! But sometimes I look or sound slightly different.

I did a couple of episodes about Bowie when he died in 2016. Yes, I should talk about the more obscure bands too.
