I worked there with the UN. the idea that women are third class citizens is the view of 90% of men there. My daughter was at Manchester university 20 plus years ago.when she moved into digs outside campus, the only way she could go out especially in the evening, and not be sexually harassed was to wear a dark headscarf covering her hair and face.
