  • One week with the Tesla Model S and we have much more insight as to what we like or don't like about our loaner car. Find out if we're happy with Model S and if we'd trade it in for our Model X!

Thanks. I have Model S for 8 months. I had all the issues you mentioned, but all fixed under warranty, even the wind noise. Service center replaced the small window on the driver side and repaired the seal. The windshield wipers they also replaced a new one. The door handle had similar alignment problem but fixed within a very short wait in service center. The suspension , yes, it is in between family sedans and sports car, I get use of it after a while. I love my Model S, but there are 2 reasons I wish I had a Model X are the 7 seats capacity and the ground clearance during winter or country roads. I think I love to have both S X and 3. ;-) Hope you continue enjoying your X. Thanks.

Had my Model S for a month and in Toronto. I do find a lot of wind noise on the highway so I think the windshield seal needs fixing. Also do you find you can hear small debris hitting the bottom of the car ? Seems quite loud. That handle issue you have is faulty for sure. Keep the videos coming

Hey Alex, the cabin definitely doesn't feel as sound insulated as what I'm used to compared to the Model X, but again I haven't driven enough cars to be able to tell if it's any better or worse than some. Are you by chance lowering the suspension of your Model S when you notice the debris hitting the underside of the car? I've set it to only Low on the highway. Nothing out of the ordinary for us on backroads that may have more debris.

The Canadian Tesla 4A Experience no its at standard height. I live downtown but wherever I’d drive and there’s loose debris on the road I hear it hitting the underside of the car. Have a service next week to fix the seal as it let’s in cold air so hopefully that reduces cabin noise as well.

Alex Moloney Real Estate, I'll keep my ears open for it next time I'm driving. I don't often get to drive in a silent car so I may be missing something. 🙂

Alex Moloney Real Estate I drove the car on both some city and dirt roads yesterday and I didn't notice any unordinary sound when passing over debris. Not like some ICE cars where you feel the vibration right underneath you. The battery is lining the bottom of the car so I would think it may sound different too.

The Canadian Tesla 4A Experience hmmmm ok. It’s not vibration really. Just the small stones/ road dirt pinging the bottom of the car
