      Its symptoms were more annoying painful , the way it changes physiology of whole body . i had it lower lumbar , i managed to push it back my self , its curable if ur not obese

    yeah I'm 51 years old and I have age-related spondylosis in my L5 and S1 I have pain shooting down my leg and into my foot constant pain but I just renewed my gym membership and I want to start working around that area

    Thank you Dr Mandell for the helpful video. I had spinal fusion surgery at my L5/S1 when I was 21 years old to treat my spondylolisthesis condition. 9 years on, I'm seeing forward slippage in L4/L5 as well and I'm trying all sorts of things to manage the chronic back pain (no nerve pain yet thankfully). I am getting back into pilates and I'm concerned particularly with whether I should be doing flexion and extension movements with this condition. I have read that forward bending should be avoided. Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

    hi I just found out that I have L5-S1 spondylosis. I trying your first exercise, the stomach in, I noticed that I feel a slight discomfort on my back rib are on both side. is it normal? I am thinking maybe because my low back muscle is stiff that other parts of my back is being overworked as well

    Have L4 stage 2 spondy. didnt bother me much 30 yrs. Now neuropathy feet, I assume from this condition. I may have exercised incorrectly. Trying to deal with the feet and hamstrings.

    I have pain in the right buttock & down the outer SIDE (not the back) of the right leg & ankle. Sometimes there is pain on the outer side of the left leg as well.
    My MRI shows bulging discs on L4, L5 & S1.
    Is my pain sciatica pain?

    I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis (-2.6). I had low back pain so they ran xrays and mri. I have some degenerative disc disease and learned also have a lumbar schmols node and l5-s1 spondylolisthesis. Are these exercises ok, except for crunches? I understand those are definitely contraindicated.

      Sitting on the bed with one leg up with the knee straight leaning over with chest to the knee is effective

    I recently got detected by listhesis l5 s1 but I have very mild pain and stiffness no sciatica pain no numbness no tingling. I m getting jerk in left leg while walking.

      Did you lifted heavy weight ? I got also detected grade 1. I have no problem with spine, but lower left back pain since I lifted weight.

    Would the decompression table help fix L5 spondy? I've had chronic back pain for a decade, tightness in trap area and midback, occasional spasms from the inversion table...I've been to 8 decent chiropractors and only the last one confirmed and told me I have the spondylolisthesis. I've been doing the decompression table (6 times now). Maybe that's not even the source of the pain? Would prolotherapy help? I feel unstable, weak, tight and intermittent pulsating pain down the right glute area.

      Decompression or inversion is not going to correct a spondylo. Cannot tell you what will or will not work without hands on examination. Although most probably it is sacroiliac imbalance and or muscular.

      If you're still checking on this, I have spondylitis (L4/5) and got improvement from a stem cell treatment in my lower back. It included "prp" ( if I have the correct term) in order to target the nerves going down my legs, which is where my pain radiates after I've been on my feet for a few minutes. It took about three months to gradually show much increased stability in my low back and hips . Where I had a lot of pain just trying to walk around the block, I can now walk a brisk mile with only some mild hip pain. Years ago I tried lower back decompression but it was too painful so I did the cervical decompression since I had issues there as well. But no long term improvements.

    I hv grade 1 spondy with lower back pain and also tingling pain which radiates from hip, buttock and right down the leg. Chiro toldnto apply ice pack at the affected area whenever there s lower back pain. Besides the effective exercises you hv demonstrated, ut is advisable to do flwg:
    Squats, push ups, front and back lunges without weights, side plank, bridges squeeze,knee to chest, deadbug exercises and Pelvic tilt. Kindly advise. Tq

    I find I can do stretching ok it's when I walk my upper body moves all over the place jolts around and pushing me into sway back position. I've tried zapain drugs and naproxen for the nerves but still no joy. When I walk the left leg limps too

Would the core exercises that you posted the other day where you hold a medicine ball (or a stretch band grasping with two hands) to use your abs to turn your body be okay to do if you have this problem or would that be too much twisting in the back? You have great exercises!

    I dont see how anybody wudn feel this kind of pain lol however i got a fractured L5 n the s1. my report said something about my L4 too but i cant do yet all these exercises yet but yes the pain will go in my groins. outer hips and of coarse lower back. just now found u. i am subscibing. do you have another link on what i described. btw lol i had also broke my tailbone and fractured my hip. its been a long recovery n now my PT has ended but either gonna try see a chiropractor or until im able see if i can get more home PT. btw. happy new year

    Arent hamstrings already over stretched ? may b idea is not to stretch the hamstring alot , just to bring back elasticity and stretch the back ex tensors that are more contracted in this situation , while Abdomen muscles are over stretched and bulging , hip flexors are contracted,,,Its symptoms were more annoying painful , the way it changes physiology of whole body . i had it lower lumbar , i managed to push it back my self , its curable if ur not obese . i dislocated it in same fashion you have described in the end , i was lifting weight while my back was rotated , it actually unlocked it while bending with rotation combined plus weight .
