Well, the director mentioned before that it won’t be based on the games fully. But look at the sequel for angry birds, it was based on the games more than the Sonic sequel and received a rating score of 72% fresh from Rotten tomatoes.

As the game's main antagonist, Knuckles is invincible in cutscenes, one-shotting Sonic out of Super, but is a complete joke in actual gameplay, getting beaten without any transformation.
Hopefully in Sonic origins this boss fight would be way harder to imply that Knuckles is no pushover. And they should make it to where even if you lose against Knuckles the cutscene would still play.

I usually keep super sonic because he only has 2 things over super and anyways you don't even see water after launch base which is the level before you get the super emeralds
If you JUST unlock Super Sonic but not Hyper, you get a special portrait on the file select screen that shows Super Sonic's face. Collecting the Super Emeralds gets you a portrait of Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails which I don't think is as cool.

If paramount Sonic can do tomato attack and vibrate molecules for shielding like some of his earlier versions, he would’ve proved it better. By the way, Sonic knew Knuckles was after the emerald and was trying to keep him away from it, not fight him. And Knuckles wasn’t going to get the emerald without having Sonic killed first. So on that one, it’s a tie. Speed beats strength.
Went much better and more accurate than in the movie. Besides, paramount Sonic can’t spin through ground and rock and paramount Knuckles doesn’t have a hyper form and can’t glide as their classic game counterparts.
To be fair, we don't know if knuckles has a super form or not, since he technically never even uses the chaos emeralds (or master emerald, but whatever.) At all in the end, just sonic.

Robotnik convinced Knuckles that Sonic was trying to steal the master emerald, and Knuckles initially believed him. Therefore Knuckles was an antagonist for most of the game, trying to stop Sonic from getting the master emerald. Low and behold, Robotnik was trying to steal the master emerald all along, as Knuckles becomes painfully aware that he was betrayed. He realizes he should've been Sonic's ally all along, and leads Sonic to the Sky Sanctuary to chase after Robotnik.
