Introduction: Three months after the Buddha's Parinirvana (Shakyamuni's Parinirvana in 543 BC), Mahakasyapa led 500 Arhats to Rajgir to sit in the rainy season, and King Ajatasatru presided over the first compilation (King Ajatasatru was the king of Magadha in ancient India and a contemporary of the Buddha). This compilation was recited by Ananda and the Vinaya by Upali. The Buddha was also a contemporary of King Prasenajit (King Prasenajit was the king of Kosala in ancient India). King Prasenajit had asked the Buddha for advice many times, and the Buddha also said a lot of Dharma to King Prasenajit. Later, the Buddha's holy disciples passed on the Dharma orally and compiled it into the "Pali Tripitaka". After the second and third compilations in India, about 200 years after the Buddha's Parinirvana, King Ashoka sent his son Mahinda and the Sangha to bring the Tripitaka to Sri Lanka. The language used to recite the Pali Canon is called "Māgadhī" or "Mūla-Bhāsā". Later, it was called "Pāli", or "Pali". When the Buddha was alive, he mainly preached in Magadha. Pali was the vernacular language of Magadha, and Pali was the language used by the Buddha to preach, so Pali is also called the fundamental language. If you want to learn the true Dharma of the Buddha, you must study the Pali Tripitaka. We must learn the Dharma that the Buddha said when he was alive, because this is the most authentic Dharma of the Buddha.
