It was a tripod shot in 4K. Added camera movement in post ;) Although Ashley helped with almost all the drifting shots including operating the boosted board with my camera hanging off it to get the rolling shots 😹
Wait, he hasn't seen Intial D? WTF how do you drift a Panda AE86, even an RC one and not watch Intial D. It like being a Hacker and never seeing Hackers.
@@sylaswojciechowski6895 yeah it's fun to do. I like putting it in the driver's headrest on seat with good RC models as the interior etc is in view. Soo fun the cruise around the house and garden with haha
This just came up in my Recommended feed and wow, this takes me back. I got way into my Mini Z in senior year of high school (2002). I'm sure it's still in storage, might be time to dig it out and rebuild it.
That was one of the classic ledrib style videos with lots of funny cuts and videoshots. Feels more connected to your videos. Thank you for this entertainment. 👍🏻
Nice Scion FRS :) in case anyone didnt know, the new body he used on the rc car is a Toyota AE86 which is a famous car which is very popular in the drifting scene in japan, and his real car is inspired by the AE86
Definitely enjoying the day. Celebrating my birthday today by doin some flyin. Like how you put the F & F Tokyo Drift theme song in there. Pretty cool car!
Thanks for the video Drew! I did a similar thing and rebuilt my RC crawler and 1/8th scale race buggies and truggies just to break up my RC adventures. I also had Mini-Zs years ago but went into bigger scale and never really went back. I am sure I will get the Mini-Z bug again as they are very cool micro cars. The AE86 has a very cool lineage.
Dude! Takumi would be proud of this hachi roku (86) rc scale model! 😃 only thing missing is the plastic water cup in the dashboard. Now put an fpv camera, look for a downhill course and make it drift like crazy! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video. Touched on 2 of my favourite things: RC Cars and nicely filmed video production! I'm actually considering getting back into RC cars.... but now being more grown up dad, I think a little indoor toy like this would suit me! You've been an inspiration! Cheers.
Loved this! I have been thinking about getting a RC drift car for a while and you just sealed my fate. Can't wait to do some chase cam with a cinewhoop! I miss your old vlog style vids by the way.
I was so into Mini-Z and Blade mCX2 back in the day! Really fun little indoor RC stuff. I would have kept going with Mini-Z but my daughter was chasing it around while I drove and CRUNCH. Maybe I'll rebuild mine now too...
You should put FPV 📷 on your port cool rc car and go drifts it up! Good rebuilding your rc car and I love it when you had your drone armed and your car went around your drone, that one is my favorite part! And other favorite part is your cat!🤗 Good job buddy 👍🏼🙌🏼👊🏼
"There's no such God-like modder who could rebuild that on the first try!" (gas, gas, gas) "You're right- normally, it's impossible. But I guess the world is big, and there's one moron who can pull it off without any practice. Only one." (gas, gas, gas) "Alright, listen guys- you'd better pay attention and watch what's going to happen very carefully. You don't get to see it this close very often. This is *real* drifting." *snaps* 0:6:00
I thought you was supposed to make me spend money on drones. 😂 A few months later, but it is still rainy season! The 3D mini-z circuit terrain is pretty lit for printing.. Nice thing about this scale is you can print your course!
Nice 86! I'm currently watching this in my brz. Bought a micro rc today. 1:64 scale. Going to replace the shell (Mustang GT ) with a S14 metal Hot Wheels one.
Great video! It’s good to see more people making content about mini-z 😸 I bet that missing screws belongs inside the battery bay & secures your servo tray. The screw hole is right above the center drive shaft, near the front.
I've been having tons of fun with 1/28 scaled AWD buggies made by GP Toys that I bought for 20cad on amazon. They're really fast for their size and have proportional steering. Best 20$ I ever spent in RC. It's really fun to FPV at ground level and drive under ferns.
Mini-Z’s are fun - you can even get track kits that you can assemble to have your own mini-track, if you have the space. Personally, I would go a little bigger - 10th scale is where it’s at. You can find cars by brands like Yokomo, MST... even Tamiya makes a few dedicated drift cars. There’s an entire aftermarket of options available. And yeah, AMain Hobbies, Horizon Hobby, or better yet, if you have one close by a local hobby shop in your area should be able to get you hooked up with whatever you need. Let’s support the Mom & Pop shops wherever possible.
Now use some Blu-Tack/Plasti-Tac/Tack-it so you can cover up the LEDs on the inside of the wheel wells to give the RC an even better scale look so that the lights don't bleed out from behind the mudguards! You could even get a few props like 1/28 scale water/concrete crash barriers for the track (use the Blu-Tack/etc to hold 'em down onto the wood floor to keep your Mini Z from knocking them out of place), street signs, and random bits of model greenery to give some organic life for future RC drift montages! It's a cheap fun way to spend time (when compared to driving a car in the rain and crashing it for real).
Now idk what kind of 1/10 rc you have but the space you have based off of 6:11 is plenty for some fun with a 1/10 rwd drift chassis, I’ve got less than that and still manage to squeeze a tight figure eight in, but killer build, also love your car
Really useful video for me. Got my AWD Silvia down off the shelf to dust recently, probably used it twice from new on the tiled kitchen floor. Noticed how easily the batteries came out as I remember them being really tight to get in (yep, forgot to take them out)...and *#!$, the chassis is cracked across in two places. Found a model shop here in the UK with the chassis for sale and fitted it tonight. Yeah, proper fiddly job..forgot the brace over the steering rocker which was annoying being under the diff cover. They seem really fragile if it broke after about 15 minutes with no impacts. I think it was partly the tiled floor and the stress from the batteries, they feel just a bit too long (Eneloop AAA, a tad shorter than the Duracell and Amazon AAAs I've got.).
High production value man nice watch......reminds me of the cam tricks you used (more the music sync come to think of it) from the vid of RR at the demolition derby vid :) Chur
Awesome to play with different stuff once in awhile. FYI HobbyTown has this for $129.00: Kyosho MR-03 Mini-Z RWD ReadySet w/Audi R8 LMS Body (Red) & KT-531P 2.4GHz
Got myself 3 MiniZ, they are just fun. I love to take an US65 Cam/VTX combo just mounted with double sticking (soft) tape and another sticky pad for an 1s whoop lipo. Much better than the EMAX Interceptor, but EMAX is about great ideas for a good price. Kyosho Stuff is quite expensive 🔥🔥
I used to have one of the OG mini z's when they first came out when I was maybe 12. So like, 20 years ago lol. They've come a long way and they are still so much fun
You can get a one way diff for the front and lock the back to help with the understeer and make the rear break loose a little easier. The one way is cheap and locking the back is free, both will help with drifting around the house.
He made Ashley stand in the rain to get him that shot walking under the car port 😂
He's got a winner lol
Instantly left a like because of that shot so it was worth it. I appreciate more production quality.
If you look close you can see the rain on his pants in that shot. I figured it was on a tripod.
It was a tripod shot in 4K. Added camera movement in post ;)
Although Ashley helped with almost all the drifting shots including operating the boosted board with my camera hanging off it to get the rolling shots 😹
Le Drib I thought it was a tripod at first, but when I saw the shake at the end you had me convinced it was a person holding the camera 👏
3 serious suggestions Drew...
1 - ya gotta see Initial D...
2 - stick an fpv cam on it..
3 - eurobeat intensifies..
4 - tofu time

No mention of tofu delivery, disappointed to say the least.
I bet he spilled the cup of water too. Buntas gonna be pissed.
Shinji Inui winned him
I would have removed the sticker tbh
he even put tokyo drift music in the video instead of eurobeat
@@ShinjuNLG that's heresy
Yesss, slap an fpv cam on it.
and mount it for 3pv like ummagawd did. 3pv is made for this
@@gavinvales8928 ah yes, great idea, literally watching that right now. That would be sick for drifting!

You know quarantine is affecting Drew when he rebuilds an RC car...
So many youtubers offer so much better content than most TV channels.
This just came up in my Recommended feed and wow, this takes me back. I got way into my Mini Z in senior year of high school (2002). I'm sure it's still in storage, might be time to dig it out and rebuild it.
Bruh. That was sick. It's just something about a grungie beat and slow-mo rc drifting that makes me smile like a kid again.
I’ve never seen this channel before and just started watching it, and the editing is god tier

Edit was fireeee. Got some reallly cool shots sliding around the studio!
Nice! Pulled my mini a out a year ago and re worked, added an AIO cam/vtx and created a cat chasing drift machine. Nice video!!!!!! 🤘😎
Man adding the lights just makes it cooler and realistic
Good job
5:44 massive montage alert! Pure gold, loving it!

I skipped by this video probably 10 times... I'm so glad I finally watched it. This is one of your best I think. Great vid!
Rc drift cars were my intro to rc after high school, i really wish i still had them now x)
this dude makes insane content for 80k subs, DEFINITELY earned my sub
Such badass videography! Love everything about this, way to not let the rainy day get you down!
Me seeing ae86: eurobeat intensives.
Doesn't mention initial d: eurobeat detensives

I think hands down the best part was the Tokyo Drift music montage. Brah, brah! Dope man. That editing was epic! :)
Great editing!! Loved the sunglasses shot. Awesome video
