Yes we are lol. And yes I love being in the south and barely having to deal with the salt and sand. My truck is 2 years old and just now barely showing some rust in the stone chips. I used to run the north when I first started but I don’t miss that at all
I started in 1985 as a union carhauler on a 75 man board outside of Chicago. Seniority dispatch and drivers could pick as many loads as they could deliver and get loaded in that day. How much training should be expected from a good company if you are a new to car hauling driver? Typically whats a good company going to invest time wise in training a new hire?
@@CarcarrierTv car hauler is better here in North America limited to like 70 ft and can’t do big stuff like f150 on cab frame like we do here on easy loader barely put suv on cab frames there

Hey bossman! Love your videos! I work for prime inc currently. Been at it for a little over a year. Car hauling has been my dream and ran into your videos about United road! I live in NM, what can i expect regional or local wise with routes out here? I normally run 4-6 weeks out before i go home. But i lease, and hearing that pay as company definitely enticed me. My ultimate goal is to run with reliable carriers, but they need a lot of experience.
Ok so I’ll start off by saying thanks for watching and sadly I don’t know that area all that well. Now if you stay out that long I’ll say the area you start won’t matter all that much because you’ll get to great work someplace if it’s slow there. But that said from what I’ve heard over the few years I’ve been here it seems like they run a lot of Cali to Texas and back work in that area. Idk how well it pays that seems like route they have which would get you back home most weekends I’d say. If you wanted to be. Also if you get in with United road you can always step up into their soft side enclosed or move into pilot transport which is United’s hard side enclosed division as well.
@@CarcarrierTv thank you for the reply! I definitely plan to get in contact with a recruiter within the week! Also, does United road only run manuals? Or do they have autos? Since being with prime, i never got the chance to get my manual endorsement

For the most part they aren’t out here riding your day in and day out they leave you be. Watch my video that’s going up tomorrow it’s gonna be on the steps to becoming a car hauler it’ll explain the process so you know what to expect.
@@CarcarrierTv I’ll definitely use you as my referral! And I’m glad about the autos! I’ll definitely keep an eye out on your next video! I saw on one of your other videos on how they ask you where you wanna go next which is so relieving! With prime, even tho i can deny a load, i have no freedom on where i want to go. It’s basically you can either go here or wait a day until i tell you where you can go if you deny their load. And the fact you make as much as my average as a lease driver while i have a truck payment and pay full price on health insurance makes me want to switch over for my families sake lol
I ran my own trucking company for 11 years and did very well with it but the health insurance is what got me to come over here. I have the best of everything they offer for insurances here and I pay right around 460-500 a month. Plus it’s a no deductible plan so my health insurance picks everything up expect the copay. But if you have a family at home try really hard to be home as often as you can. I could easily make more then I do but I only run mon-fri so I can watch my kids grow up.

Thanks for all the videos. Im out of Central FL and Ive reached out to United and to Hoagan. Do you have any opinions about Hoagan? the thing about Hoagan is they are offering pay at a hourly rate so atleast the first yr or two Ill be getting paid anytime I am working. Or what do you think about starting in United Roads enclosed section first?
So idk much about hogan so I can’t really say much there. As for the hourly thing United doesn’t pay that but they do have a minimum weekly pay as long as your putting in the hours and I think it’s 100 hours every two weeks and you’ll make a minimum of 1250 weekly I think. lol or those used to be the numbers. As for the enclosed work I doubt you’ll get in with no experience. I’m pretty sure they want 5 years of car hauling experience first. They get pretty picky who they let load $500,000 cars lol. But also with hogan I’ve never heard much complaining about them so they may be pretty good to their drivers I just don’t know.
@CarcarrierTv I put your name down for UR but haven't heard from them. I expect it's simply the fact they can be more choosing if they want anyone at all in current market. I kinda got in my own head since posting cause I know "winter is coming" and started looking at van again. Idk 🤷♂️ will see what happens
@jeffreyulery2182 so I’ll say most companies are a bit more choosy right now simply because last year was a boom in the car market for deliveries and this year is a bit slower. But your getting into one of the busiest seasons normally November through the end of the year is a giant push to get cars delivered before the turn of the new year. Summer is our slow season a lot less cars are purchased simply because everyone is on vacation and you have the summer factory retooling shit downs. So I’d keep reaching out because the hiring should pickup in the next month or so
@@CarcarrierTv Thanks for clarifying it. I'm thinking about getting a 7-8 car hauler to pull it with my 2008 389. I have my own authority since 2012. TBH, I thought there would be more $$$ in car hauling. When the market is normal, or good, I gross about 200K with a dry van averaging about 65K miles a year, but things are real bad now, so I'm thinking about the switch.
With a 7-8 car I’d say you should be able to pull in 300-375k most years but we’re also getting slow and if you don’t have accounts already I’m guessing your gonna run load boards which will make it even harder. Cars can be great money but they’re also in a slump right now
@@CarcarrierTv I hear you, just much like everything else is in a slump, thanks to Brandon. I think I should wait till end of this year, maybe we can all have a better idea where we are headed with this nonsense. Thanks.
Honestly I don’t know much about how they run that terminal specifically but I have hauled a bunch of work out of there and it seems to be a good yard. Where are you wanting to haul to and how often do you want to be home
@@CarcarrierTv I like to start on Tuesday morning and finish up on Saturday afternoon like to run regional like you stay loaded just be back in jville on Saturday afternoon
If I remember correctly you have a lot of car hauling experience right? You were a union guy? And that whole south East corner has tons of regional work. But also you’ll have to check the United road website but I think if you have 5 years of car hauling experience right now there’s a $20k sign on bonus
So I don’t remanded the exact numbers I was saying but if they were numbers like $8,000-$10,000 those are what the truck made and we make 25-28% of that. If they were $1800-$2500 before bonuses that’s what my paycheck is each week
@@CarcarrierTv thank you that cleared it up I currently have my class B and will be upgrading to class A in the fall how much experience does United road require??
No the only thing you get paid for is loads delivered for the most part. Now if you breakdown there’s breakdown pay and a few other things offered but really you only make money by putting loads on the ground
So my record was because I got a pair of specialty loads that just happened to fall together in a 9 day window so it’s just over a week and that was over 25k. I can’t give exact numbers because I’m not allowed to release specialty load numbers. But that really is probably a once in a lifetime pair of loads
I would say no for the most part. It may be a bit harder for you to get in and out of cars but you should be fine. I’m about 260 and I do it just fine and there’s plenty of guys much larger then me
Hey car carrier tv I am fairly new to the car hauling industry I use to 53ft trailers I just got an offer letter from carvana I have mixed reviews I am local but I’m also interested in United road there is one near me I’m in jersey near pa I’m a bit nervous but I also believe what you are saying it takes time but I’m on the fence because my offer letter mentioned that the minimum wage may not be garunteed if you understand what that means can you explain
Thank you and I’m a company driver. I owned my own equipment for 11 years but now I’m just sitting back and enjoying the zero worries of being a company guy
I would say most of the large companies do. United definitely does. If you want otr I’m sure you can find it most car haul companies have trouble finding guys who want to stay out and guys who want to run local. So if you want to do either I’d say finding woke shouldn’t be that hard.
Your right Canadian costs are more per cad but to say your making $9,000 is a little off your making 9000 cad if we’re comparing apples to apples $9000 here would be equal to 12107 cad. That’s all I’m saying
@@CarcarrierTv and I am even car hauler and work 5 days weeks 10 hours day .Car hauler only drivers are making 15-16 cad thousand a month that’s about 12000 us
do you get paid for loading/unloading, or just a mile rate, car hauler owner/operator/company driver, in sydney ,australia for15 plus years as well as general freight, for 35 years, retired now 78 yo still miss it heaps
Ok so I’m a company driver and we only get paid a load rate. We get 25-28% of what the load paid. And I can imagine missing it all. When I take a vacation I’m ready to get back on the road after 4-5 days
@@CarcarrierTv Is there more money being a company driver ? I just got a ram 3500 & a 3/4 car trailer with flips waiting on my mc to go active . I know it’s going to be rough getting loads at the beginning, had a friend just go thru the same thing.
So the short answer is yes being a company driver you will make more money in the short term with a ton less effort. But in the long term if you can grow and be smart with your money you have to potential to make a ton more money. But you will need to grow and I’m talking like 10-20+ trucks. So if you just want to be a one man band then become a company driver with a great company. I’m not saying United will be the best for you but find someone like them that will treat you right and take care of you.

Well I’ll be honest and I believe the one I’m at is the best for me. So let me get some info from you so maybe I can help steer you in a direction that will work for you. What are you looking for in a car hauling company
Well up there you can definitely go with United road and do both of those from that area. Now I’m sure you have other companies up their like Moore H&A Virginia plus some smaller companies like Tom shanks or online auto connection there’s a bunch that’s a great area to be a car hauler in
What the heck he is talking about making less than 2000$ week I just start driving truck 10 hour day not doing any loading unloading just sitting in truck and driving 8 hours for up and down and home in 10 hours and making 9000$ in 20 days 5 days a week and I am just a driver
That’s very good money that’s saying he’s making around 600k yearly cad so about $446,000 here which is pretty on par with what a well run car hauler would make

If I remember correctly you have a lot of car hauling experience right? You were a union guy? And that whole south East corner has tons of regional work. But also you’ll have to check the United road website but I think if you have 5 years of car hauling experience right now there’s a $20k sign on bonus
Great video are these numbers before taxes or after? Considering getting into car hauling
All numbers are before taxes because everyone’s situation is different
So your a company driver making that per check??
So I don’t remanded the exact numbers I was saying but if they were numbers like $8,000-$10,000 those are what the truck made and we make 25-28% of that. If they were $1800-$2500 before bonuses that’s what my paycheck is each week
@@CarcarrierTv thank you that cleared it up I currently have my class B and will be upgrading to class A in the fall how much experience does United road require??
@zac9796 United requires at least 6 months of otr but after that they will train you
Love your videos you are a good person you explain it excellent
Thank you very much that means a lot to me
Do you get paid for the time you load your cars?
No the only thing you get paid for is loads delivered for the most part. Now if you breakdown there’s breakdown pay and a few other things offered but really you only make money by putting loads on the ground
What's the most u made in one week ?
So my record was because I got a pair of specialty loads that just happened to fall together in a 9 day window so it’s just over a week and that was over 25k. I can’t give exact numbers because I’m not allowed to release specialty load numbers. But that really is probably a once in a lifetime pair of loads
So you pocket all that ? Im just wondering because im really thinking about getting my Cdl to do this
No you make 25% of that car haulers are normally paid commission on based on what the truck makes
I’m a big guy but not lazy will my size be a problem for me?
I would say no for the most part. It may be a bit harder for you to get in and out of cars but you should be fine. I’m about 260 and I do it just fine and there’s plenty of guys much larger then me
@@CarcarrierTv thank you for the reply !
Anytime. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to help
If dealerships wouldn't put cars on every turn it What make our lives a lot easier lol
Lol your not wrong there
Hey car carrier tv I am fairly new to the car hauling industry I use to 53ft trailers I just got an offer letter from carvana I have mixed reviews I am local but I’m also interested in United road there is one near me I’m in jersey near pa I’m a bit nervous but I also believe what you are saying it takes time but I’m on the fence because my offer letter mentioned that the minimum wage may not be garunteed if you understand what that means can you explain
Love the videos man! Do you work for United roads or are you lease on with them?
Thank you and I’m a company driver. I owned my own equipment for 11 years but now I’m just sitting back and enjoying the zero worries of being a company guy
Do you know any companies that do long haul
I would say most of the large companies do. United definitely does. If you want otr I’m sure you can find it most car haul companies have trouble finding guys who want to stay out and guys who want to run local. So if you want to do either I’d say finding woke shouldn’t be that hard.
Just started working for Pilot Transport
That’s awesome what area are you hauling out of. Idk enough about pilot to know if they have their own terminals or not
And I live in Canada and I know other drivers doing easy trucking and making more than what he is saying
Oh so your making 9000 cad not dollars so really your making $6690 which is still very good money
@@CarcarrierTv listen to Canadian expanse and cost it’s same like US dollar because I am making and spending here
Your right Canadian costs are more per cad but to say your making $9,000 is a little off your making 9000 cad if we’re comparing apples to apples $9000 here would be equal to 12107 cad. That’s all I’m saying
@@CarcarrierTv and I am even car hauler and work 5 days weeks 10 hours day .Car hauler only drivers are making 15-16 cad thousand a month that’s about 12000 us
Good 'ol URS - still running million mile Sterlings....
Does anyone know which company is hiring with no experience?
United road will of your in an area they have trainers in
If you’re in the Midwest, midwestern car carriers based out of Kansas City, MO is hiring. I just started with them.
@@TGunner23 I live in the Northeast but I appreciate the information bro.
do you get paid for loading/unloading, or just a mile rate, car hauler owner/operator/company driver, in sydney ,australia for15 plus years as well as general freight, for 35 years, retired now 78 yo still miss it heaps
Ok so I’m a company driver and we only get paid a load rate. We get 25-28% of what the load paid. And I can imagine missing it all. When I take a vacation I’m ready to get back on the road after 4-5 days
Have you ever considered being a O/O?
I was for 11 years
@@CarcarrierTv Is there more money being a company driver ? I just got a ram 3500 & a 3/4 car trailer with flips waiting on my mc to go active . I know it’s going to be rough getting loads at the beginning, had a friend just go thru the same thing.
@@CarcarrierTv also what made you decide to change
So the short answer is yes being a company driver you will make more money in the short term with a ton less effort. But in the long term if you can grow and be smart with your money you have to potential to make a ton more money. But you will need to grow and I’m talking like 10-20+ trucks. So if you just want to be a one man band then become a company driver with a great company. I’m not saying United will be the best for you but find someone like them that will treat you right and take care of you.
Awesome video, Im new subscribed
Appreciate you subbing. Are you a car hauler as well? If so where is your normal run
@@CarcarrierTv Thanks for the response, you got a great channel. I don't have a cdl license. I drive box trucks and flat beds, but want to get a cdl. Car hauling appeals to me for many reasons.
Thank you for the complement. If you ever get your cdl it’s a great way to make a living. I don’t recommend being otr I don’t believe in being away from your home and family that long tho
Can you do a video naming best car hualing companies? I am having hard time finding some ..ty
Well I’ll be honest and I believe the one I’m at is the best for me. So let me get some info from you so maybe I can help steer you in a direction that will work for you. What are you looking for in a car hauling company
@@CarcarrierTv Thank you. Looling for one does both long and short hual. I am in MD ..
Well up there you can definitely go with United road and do both of those from that area. Now I’m sure you have other companies up their like Moore H&A Virginia plus some smaller companies like Tom shanks or online auto connection there’s a bunch that’s a great area to be a car hauler in
@@CarcarrierTv moore is in big financial trouble and losing a lot of yards,I'd steer clear
Beside United Road , who else is hiring rookies from cdl schools?. Thanks in advance man. Great info
What the heck he is talking about making less than 2000$ week I just start driving truck 10 hour day not doing any loading unloading just sitting in truck and driving 8 hours for up and down and home in 10 hours and making 9000$ in 20 days 5 days a week and I am just a driver
What company do you drive for there will be lots of drivers looking for positions like that.
@@CarcarrierTv my friend owner operates car hauler making 50k gross that’s 32-33 net in Canadian dollars a Month
That’s very good money that’s saying he’s making around 600k yearly cad so about $446,000 here which is pretty on par with what a well run car hauler would make
@@candyman9644what company you work for ?
