  • Hunting crows is a crucial part of farmland pest control. Along with foxes, rabbits and pigeons, the crafty corvid, with its appetite for corn and crops, is the scourge of a farmer's livelihood .
    In tonight's episode of Team Wild's Varminators, it's a double whammy for Keith Anderson, as he's off shooting crows on two sites plagued by the voracious vermin.
    First off, he accompanies Big Steve of SPD Pest Control to some Staffordshire woodland, where the crows are nesting in heavy numbers. Then, he hot-foots it across to Leicestershire in his Great Wall Steed to join Matt Cole and Cai Ap Bryn for a spot of crow shooting on a local farm.
    Armed with his trusty Armsan A612 Shotgun, Keith's looking to bag himself a healthy number of corvids, so that the farmers' pockets are hit a little less this month!

      stevenpaddybwoy Ha, yes, we find it's always good to outline what, why and what with when we make our films. It defines the rest of the show and like you say, lets people know why we are doing it.

    Hey Team Wild, I was just wondering what go pro attachment you use on the side of your shotguns? I do a fair bit of shooting myself and i have a go pro but i would really like an attachment to fit on my shotgun. I have attachments for my .223 and .22 but none for my shotgun. I usually shoot ducks, pigeons, rabbits, foxes, cats ect.
    Thanks Connor

    Great vid guys. Those bangers sure are the kiddy aren't they lol. We shot 22 jackdaws from my garden last week with one turbo flapper and an acme crow caller. With some practice you can make a really convincing cherp of a jackdaw. Looking forward to another vermin shooting video

      yer I have 13 acre of grass behind the place in renting and when they bailed and wrapped it they came in quite well.
      I'm currently trying to make my own airgun pellets with the nomad pellet maker but with little success. Have you guys had much to do with or heard much about the tool. I have a vid up about it. Its great to have a reply from you with how busy you guys must be.

    What choke are you using in the a612 Keith?

    • @TeamWildTV
      @TeamWildTV  10 років тому

      John Cairns I was using half choke and a 32g 6 cartridge John....Sometimes I tighten up to three quarters as crows can carry a bit of lead!

    Do you guys eat the crows? What do you do with them?

    • @TeamWildTV
      @TeamWildTV  10 років тому

      haliescomet101 We dispose of the crows by incineration. You can however eat them, but it's best when they are young birds. They are not a popular eating bird here in the UK....I'd much rather have pigeon or rabbit ;)

    What do you think of the proper cartridges?

    • @TeamWildTV
      @TeamWildTV  10 років тому

      Without making it sound like and advert, I think they are great!...Like i said in an earlier post, they are well priced, hard hitting and don't take too much out of your shoulder.

    What size shot do you use for crows?

    • @TeamWildTV
      @TeamWildTV  10 років тому

      Been using the Proper Cartridges 32g 6
      A real hard hitting shell, but is really easy on the shoulder!...Been dropping some real long shots with them and they don't break the bank.

    We use 29g of 6 for most things. Pigeon power. They are brilliant......and cheap.

      Christoph Maier sam mcclymont Chris is quite right...As a youngster, I wasn't educated on the effects that shooting can have on your hearing. I have paid for this later in life, so would always advise on hearing protection.

    Come to Massachusetts! As I watch, they are outside yakking, warning. They are utter pests and can't shut the hell up. They are more than lucky around here as no one shoots them tho they are fair game a few days a week. It's the way they carry on... they simply ask for it. I wish birds had a weakness with certain frequencies..... I'd make an emitter right quick. I think Blue Jays are just about the worst as far as in your face obnoxiousness. I made the mistake of getting to know most birds around here... Now they won't leave me the fuck alone!!!
