- It’s beautiful morning in the Great British countryside and we’re pheasant and partridge shooting at the magnificent Hadley Shoot.
Hadley Game & Sporting is a family run business that offers some of the finest shooting available in a relaxed and friendly environment. Situated in the heart of Worcestershire, The Hadley shoot has been running for over 23 years and endeavours to supply superb pheasant and partridge shooting.
Today, Shoot Director, Adam Gwillam has gathered together a team of guns from across the country with the aim of shooting 200 birds. The Hadley Shoot prides itself on supplying an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone involved filled with comradery, laughter and incredible shooting.
Amongst this friendly team of guns, Ian Harford has been invited to take part in today’s shoot. The conditions are perfect with bright sunshine filling the sky, but also a brisk wind. After the first drive, Ian has had some lovely partridge fly over, sweeping nicely into the wind. Fast-paced birds continue to fly over throughout the day, creating some truly challenging shots and lots of fun.
During a break in the shooting, Ian discusses his change in shotgun. He is using the Sauer Appollon over and under shotgun. Normally he opts for his AYA Number One Deluxe, which is perfect for his style of shooting. However, today he is trying something a little different. The Sauer Appollon is more on the budge end of Sauer’s extensive catalogue of products, it is a traditional over and under box lock and has been beautifully appointed. Available in both 12 and 20 gauge with 28 and 30-inch barrels. The Sauer Appollon along with the Sauer SL5 and Sauer 101 are the perfect three gun collection for any British sportsmen - ideal for deer stalking, pigeon shooting and game shooting.
As the day comes to the end the weather becomes very unpredictable, as in just one drive the guns experience, rain, sleet, hailstorms and sunshine. This is the typical weather you can expect from a shooting day.
It has been another fantastic outing, which has been enjoyed by all. Little shoots like this are lifeblood of the sport in the UK. There is a great balance of shooting from mixed woodland to open farmland, it is a really good place to bring friends and family together for a great day out.
