I first met Don at the ATHS show in Colorado Springs. He had the IH Shell tanker there. And those that say it should be converted to a RV well that's what Don did. That weekend show he stayed in the back compartment at night. At the ATHS show in Hutchinson KS he showed "The Other Woman" another KB International with lowboy trailer. He also got in a very heated bidding war with some d bag over the blue and white Studebaker tow truck. The crowed cheered when Don won the auction. I have never been able to make it to his home in Jerome, but hope to one day. There are other videos of his trucks (some driving) and the large engine you hear in the back ground. I also did not know of his passing what a true legend he was!! One last story, at the KS show there was a severe thunderstorm and tornado. Don was camped under the lowboy trailer and had to make a run for one of the buildings at the fair grounds. As far as complaining that these trucks are rotting away I rather see that than someone cut them up into a Rat rod or melt them down to send to China. I know Don is up on Heaven highway driving a KB!!!

Great stories! So that's why there was that back compartment in the IH Shell tanker. There's a great picture of Don's '47 International KB hauling the '46 Shell Tanker on a flatbed at the ATHS National Convention at Colorado Springs hanging in the gift shop at Gold King Mine. He used to make it out to many of the National Conventions, even came out to the one near my area in Fontana, CA in 2004 with the two IH's.
I don't recall him having a blue and white Studebaker tow truck. Maybe the one he won was the Nash tow truck at 11:09?
He was a very interesting person, with lots of exciting stories to tell about his years collecting trucks. True that these trucks are better off where they are rather than becoming hot-rodded or destroyed! Luckily Don's stepdaughter, who now manages the place, says that the trucks are there to stay, and hopefully will not leave for a long time!

8:47 That is one of the rarest trucks there parked next to the U model Autocar. It's a 40's IH West Coaster cabover. Very few were built, it would be nice to see that one restored.

If you're talking about the video by Lindsey Crawford, that is one of my favorite trucking videos. Really shows off the kind of driving skills that Don Robertson had. I would love to try making one of those types of videos myself with other cars and trucks.
Don was still around when this video was shot, and I got to meet him before I left. He passed away about 6 months after my visit. As for his trucks, I believe most of them are still at Gold King Mine, based on pictures that I have seen. I read somewhere that the International Sightliner at 11:45 was sold off, and as far as I have seen, there are no signs of that White 3000 at 2:03. I'd like to visit again and see how things have changed there.

@8:53...what's amazing here is that AutoCar still exists and makes a truck to this day called the Expeditor that looks like the grandson to that white AutoCar. It's mainly a refuse truck chassis...but still...it's still producing trucks after once being owned by other companies and perhaps nearly forgotten about.

4:35 is a Wayne street sweeper. I believe manufactured in Indiana. Approximate late 50s to mid 1960s. Way after the 1930s. 5:55 is a B model Mack. Maybe a B 73 which was a heavy haul / off road rig. Made from the late 50s-late 60s. 7:00 is a Peterbilt 350 or 351 with stretched frame and his body added. This is more than likely something Don did or caught his eye.
