Spot on 🎯. Praise God for the truth being taught biblically and in a way that all can understand. Thank you for this teaching because I definitely came up in a “church” when I was a little girl that perpetrated nonsense in the name of Holy Spirit that was by no means biblical.

In the Old Testament...where the priests fall because of Gods Glory....this sounds like an example of falling ...in some way because of a touch from God....

Agreed, and I think John’s falling before the Lord was as well. The difference is that these were the result of direct encounters with God Himself. We don’t ever see the kind of thing we see today in the NT or OT. Many of the folks practicing slaying in the spirit today do so because they are saying it is a manifestation of the kingdom here and now. The theology behind the practice is an important element to consider as well

I realised that if it is of God's glory, people fall on their faces, in other words, forward, in some measure of prostration because no mortal face can see the Almighty God. But those slain in some spirit, almost always fall backwards

    Very good explanation!
I especially appreciate your mentioning how the Bible describes the fruit of the Spirit.
Also- in Acts 2 that when the Holy Spirit came upon them, it was for the purpose of power to minister and be witnesses. This is the Holy Spirit pointing TO JESUS!
Not for any self-focused, ecstatic experience.
I have a question related to the Holy Spirit-
Have you noticed this growing “trend” among Christian’s to refer to the Holy Spirit as “Holy Spirit”, dropping “the”?
I always see Him referred to in the scriptures WITH “the” preceding His title.
I can’t quite pinpoint it, but it feels uncomfortable to me every time.
I hear it mostly among my more “progressive “ brothers and sisters or those moving into “mystical Christianity “.
I think there is something about it that is “off”, and wonder what your thoughts are.
    Thank you so much.

Was the gift of tongues you witnessed a known language ?

I believe tongues were unequivocally a known language and not gibberish, otherwise the foreigners amidst the apostles would not be able to understand them.
Acts 2:6-11 (KJV) Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
