Stockpiling heirloom seeds is not enough-speaking from experience. One must plant, grow and harvest annually in order to confirm ones ability to grow a garden. There is much more to growing food than simply dropping seeds into the ground. It's really a year-round endeavor. Preparing soil in the non-growing months, securing from pests and predators, growing and maintaining, then storing food and saving seeds from the harvest all add up to 12 months worth of effort.
@@stevenallen2530 pepole also dont realize how much they really need to grow to survive. And veggies is not enough . I got a garden and chickens meat rabbits too .
Travis Briggs. I seriously don't want to argue but humans can survive on plant-based proteins such as peas, lima beans, soy beans, navy beans, black eye peas, lentils, peanuts, kidney beans, black beans, not to mention the small amounts of protein that exists in some fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes and corn. Animals are not necessary for eating and surviving. Just saying is all.
I always thought I knew enough to get me by. I had watched the preppers shows and tend to agree with you. Over the past 6-8 months, I now realise I knew nothing. Oh, I had been camping for years, but going camping every now and again to looking at bugging out! 2 whole completely different things! knowledge is everything along with practice and I don't think they are crazy anymore. either that or im crazy now as well! LOL!!
I was with the same mindset as you, until last year. Now I’m a full on prepper. I’m even in the process of joined the army reserve so I can learn field craft skills, weapons training, physical fitness and first aid. I have a young family, so am planning to bug in until my young children are older, however I live in the country near rivers and forest and have made a big out plan if needed. My spare time is devoted to increasing my survival skills, you can never be to ready👍
There are different types of preppers. If you've got a wardrobe of military surplus camo gear because you're preparing for an EMP attack or the reversal of the magnetic poles, then you're in the crazy club. If you're just making sure you can last a few days in your house without running water and power then you're not.
I genuinely feel bad for the people who see videos like this and scoff. It's never a bad thing to accept the reality of this being possible and being mentally, physically, and rationally prepared for it.
This vid was posted in Dec. 2019. Within 6 months of the time this vid was posted, some of the scenarios mentioned here were becoming reality. Since then, we've had massive polar vortices, dangerous storms, and massive fires. I'm not a prepper, but stuff is getting real.
if this is the reality you don't even need to bug out. "every man's for themselves" means that small communities aren't even a thing in that person's mind. We are still social creatures.
I'd just like to make a very important note about something. There is this TV show called alone where they send survival experts of all kinds of stripes and colors to survive 100% isolated in a given location for as long as possible. In every season of that show, within a few weeks, pretty much half of all the contestants drop out, and those who dont usually get pulled out for extreme weightloss or injury. If there is one thing I've noticed from that show, it's that people seriously overestimate their survival capabilities and lone wolf survivalism is extremely impractical and unsustainable.
Finite Wehosh more people = more mouths to feed and some may not be able to contribute like other in the group can thus dead weight . U gotta be careful of who u choose
@@clam741 true. I'm just pointing out how impractical lone wolf survival is and how much people over estimate themselves. The fantasy of hoofing it in the woods and living off the bush is actually more in line with an unsustainable nightmare. Having a small group (even if just two or three people) is far more practical for long term survival.
Finite Wehosh yes I agree with ur last comment . Most people today have 2 left feet and can’t do or figure anything out . Surviving alone would be next to impossible because of food water and finally exhaustion of trying to get everything done by yourself . In a shtf scenario , I wouldn’t want to be part of a large group , just to many incapable dumbasses around
I recall that they were not able to bring all the things they wanted, but had to choose from limited items. Including a weapon limitation. A wo/man that has prepared and stacked certain supplies near his/ her bug out location would initially be better off than they were. Group would definetly be better, if they were loyal and loved you. I think i would help my family to a very extreme level, even if they turned against me. I would keep a secondary hide-out just in case my in-laws somehow would turn my family against me. In those circumstances, i actually would understand if they considered me a liability at some point with scarce food resources. I would rather see them live anyway or enhance their chances to do so. Gardening possibility will increase the chances of long-term survival, in fact that would be only mode of survival after people have hunted down and eaten all the animals. China and North Korea basically has no rat/vermin problems at all, because people have eaten everything during the disasters.
If you've read "One Second After" you know that salt will be at a premium, stock up on salt, in good times, it's the cheapest thing you can buy and will not spoil. You will need it for many things.
Tell yourself that as you forget some have bunkers and shelters designed to last generations...and teams of people hired to make sure they do. Those of us lucky enough to survive the initial catastrophe will spend the rest of our lives fighting to stay alive and potentially killing to survive. Those who prepare will face attacks, those who didnt prepare will face the mercy of humanity at its lowest point. The best thing to do is to go somewhere with low population and work daily to not be found if an end of days event happens, we will be told nothing while those who have power will get to where they need to go. Panic will be avoided at all costs until there is no choice. Yeah poor people will feel less of a loss...but this doesnt mean they are prepared to survive a societal collapse armed gangs cannibalism and unchecked violence.
@@VideoSaySo I have. I was around on the internet at the time his predictions were made and I followed them. All his predictions are very generic like Nostradomus' nonsense. Even the "prediction" about a civil war over an election. That shit has happened multiple times in history. It's not a ground breaking revelation. Also remember, his stuff came around the time the Bush/Al Gore fiasco happened. People were worried about "civil war" at that time. Most of his predictions were decent educated guesses. Others have been COMPLETELY incorrect.
I once got my entire village flood, I dont drink, eat food for a few days (4-5 days). But now I always stockpile food in my house and a 6 gallons of water every day. when shit happen like that, we need to be prepared.
Sure, we can also site the Venezuela problem also, and not to mention the US embargo to Cuba also, Ethiopia, Sudan, Biafra, have also suffered famins. We can also look at Greece almost going bankrupt. Russia, Iran and North Korea under US embargo now is showing signs of "cracking" as is China. The climate get's more screwed up, every day, and STILL the US "picks it's collective nose" and denies it exists. They will soon learn that tornadoes, are going to be the least of their problems. Just wait.
@RichardBodeker It is as I predicted. City's have festered long enough and New Orleans, was the pressure cooker. "City's will turn into armed camps, dispensing their own perverted brand of justice".
@RichardBodeker I think we're going to have repeat of the looting that happened here in New Orleans if they shut the city down totally and don't let people in or out alot of ppl won't be able to work
I was living in Puerto Rico and the firs week there was not communications at all, but here in the state will be different because not all states will be in a emergency so they will be providing help. In PR there was a problem because we need ships and airplanes to bring help to the island and that was happening in the second or third week if I’m not mistaken... guys money will always be money we still use cash always that thing about changing beans for toilet paper that’s crazy.
As an apocalyptic lover when it comes to movies, series, anime and games, i tend to stack up in canned foods and rice in vacuum bags. I developed a trait (or rather a rule?) that as long as i have stocks of food, it's okay to be broke. I also have power banks, solar panels, emergency lights, roots crop seeds, basic medicine, salt, and gallons of water containers. Heck! I even have a chicken coop and a small garden going on. People tend to go insane and out of control when they get hungry, so it's better camp it out, and wait it out.
@Ironic Kismet they can came, steal, even burn down, but what happens next? moving around like locusts wont work for ever.... sooner or later they'll run out of food, water, medicine even ammo for the guns. WITHOUT proper knowledge and hundreds of working hours put in, all they did was delay their demise. i know how to farm, how to take care for livestock, and have enough knowledge in military tactics to keep my family and friends safe for quite some time. how many can do the same? maybe those on outskirts of towns, but city folk? well, thats going to be real clusterf**k indeed.

That my friend, is the Tyranny of Apathy and is a valid reason for Citizens to rely on themselves and resist the Government that abandoned them. We saw that in 1992 during the LA riots, when the Law Enforcement troops simply cordoned off the riots and protected the wealthy and abandoned the poor to the violence of the mob.
On my mom side of the family, there had stocked up on canned food, rice, cooking oil, kerosene for lanterns, and ect, my great grandfather believed always be prepared for anything, at any time. This was 1937 in Shanghai China in the start of WW2, he didn’t just save his family from starvation but hungry of people as well, and the generations that came afterwards. It’s sad that history doesn’t remember when the red carpet came in, but my family and those family remember. Be prepared for anything is what I took from him, hope it helps you out if your reading this Thanks for all the feedback and help in the comments, we are all in the same Boat when SHTF. I should know, I work in National disasters (most wildfires) and I seen up close what just a fraction of Armageddon would look like. And it ain’t pretty 🤯 🔥
Back in 1992 it was becoming obvious that a war will break out in Bosnia (Yugoslavia) most people couldn't imagine that one day they will lack food. My grand mom having lived trough WW2 could imagine that and she stocked up. Not tons, but just the most necesairy. Flour, sugar, salt, eating oil, rice, beans, pasta, canned food and so on. It helped her feed her family during the first 6 months of siege of Sarajevo before humanitarian aid started comming in. She still to this day stocks a smaller amount of food, and 2 or 3 times when she tought a new war could break out she would stock some more. That generation is much smarter than ours, they understand that they can only count on themself and their family.
@@andyramirez4881 yes, but dont be a fool and not prepare for what is coming, and just believe "god will provide". You need to help yourself and put yourself in a position so that he can provide and bless you with good crops for harvest, and a good job to earn the money to buy what you need. Because unfortunately, I like many others WILL be turning family away with that mindset in a shtf scenario. @@hobohound8310 You still believe the virus is the problem with society? "Give us 2 weeks to flatten the curve! We will be back to normal in 15 days!" It's December, fool!
Two things I'd like to add. First, my wife is a nurse at our local hospital and we have talked about protocol for when SHTF occurs, the hospital requires any and all employees on the clock to stay there no matter what, they actually have a lockdown and force them to stay. We have plans in place for her to escape if that ever happens. It's sad but true, in a SHTF scenario, most if not all critical people like police officers and nurses and doctors will abandon their post to be with their family. Secondly, around 15 years ago, the entire region(multiple counties in my state and surrounding states) had a grid down scenario for 3 days. I couldn't go to work because none of the gas stations had electricity, therefore, the pumps would not work. That was day one, so storing plenty of fuel would be a good idea. I would avoid government aid at all costs. Tough times are coming, some science supports it's inevitability, and various prophecies also support hard times ahead. On top of that, many of us feel it in our gut. Good luck to you all...
@War N Peace i worked at Sears as a technician for years and yes small engines do not run good on old gasoline. It's because most gas companies run 10% to 20% ethanol mixed in their fuel. You'll either have to run 100% gas or use an ethanol treatment. 100% pure gasoline will run. Octane really shouldn't matter as long as there's no ethanol.
@War N Peace Yup! You "varnished" the valves, and now they won't close properly, or if you have fuel injectors, instead of a carburetor, you "gummed up" the needle valves. That's what happens when you use old gas.
The COVID Lockdowns earlier this year gave us a small glimpse of everything you discuss in this video. One thing I would add regarding long term food storage: DON'T PUT ALL OF YOUR BAGS OF RICE IN ONE BUNKER! Spread out your stored supplies over several different locations if you can. This way, if one cache is compromised, stolen or destroyed, you are not stripped of everything.

Nah bro, we're the 2nd largest producer in the world, and we produce more food than almost any other country on earth.
We were seconds away from a total grid collapse that would have taken a month or more to restore if the voltage had dropped just a tiny bit more. It is crazy that we were that close to it. That being said it would not have been quite like this as the rest of the country would have still been operational so people could leave the state to return to normal, money would probably still work and the feds would be sending in supplies and resources. The sort of thing he is talking about is only going to happen suddenly if an asteroid hits or a full blown nuke exchange happens. Long term with climate change this could happen, but it would probably happen slowly over the course of decades vs all at once.

This is the best information to have at a time like this. A lot of Texas was without power after a large ice storm came recently. Stores were out of food, kerosene heaters went out of stock, supply lines stopped and people froze to death. This all happened during a Pandemic, and just one more bad event could tip the country into a panic. Stay safe and cherish your loved ones, worry about the things that you CAN control.

Perhaps, but I see possibilities to, at least at first. The chance to "band / bond" with others like yourself. Find a common cause, like leaving the city. It's much better when more than one think along the same lines. A "caravan" of like minded people, could survive better than a single family car would. An apartment building, banded together, stands a better chance of survival than a single family home ever would. You don't have to be a prepper or clairvoyant to see the possibilities. No?
That is actually an excellent idea. Don't forget some nice 3 inch spiral nails to go with them, or screws with big azz washers. I live in a modern apartment and the walls are concrete, the doors and frames are steel, but even so, I sometimes think I could do more with the door, to prevent break ins.
@Steve Wilkos' Abused Chair it's a steel door and frame, not wood. Also, I live on the 4th floor in a concrete building. One way in and one way out, unless you want I should leave by the balcony. Heavy modification to the frames, doors, etc., are not recommended, and could earn you a trip to court.
I watch this video a few months ago at the start of the coronavirus crisis here in the UK. As a result of your video me and my partner are near the end of the process of buying a property in a small rural village in England. the village has a large number of retired military and a very good community feel and links with local farmers. I think we have made the first step in getting involvedwith a community that has the knowledge and skills to deal with an SHTF situation. From myself and Karina thank you for all your information.
My idea of prepping is a little different. As a senior my plan is popcorn - beer and a comfortable lawn chair. I might even climb up on the roof for a better view
Douglas Gandy. Using the scenario that this gentleman used, how would you cook the popcorn? How would you chill the beer? In this scenario, you would be having hot beer, provided that you stockpiled enough for months and you would be staring at a container of popcorn with no way to cook it. Remember there's no electricity or propane gas to be replaced and no natural gas to be delivered. So whatever you can cook over a fire if you can get wood would be OK.
jorgegrealty I actually started prepping last year as a hobby. Didn’t think that I may need some of the stuff I’ve learned this damn quick. Kinda nerve racking.
Just a guess but depending on where you live you you may or may not have a renewable reliable source of water such as a creek stream River unpolluted Lake Etc. Also the collection of Rainwater and filtering And purification of used or borderline water. I do suggest a large quantity of water per person but food and the ability to reproduce food AKA gardening is far more important than a once established source of clean drinking water
Bart McRae I think it really depends on geography. For Canadians like us, water isn’t hard to find. Every major Canadian city is by fresh water (except Vancouver) and if you’re in the country, there’s no shortage of fresh water either. There are more bodies of fresh water in Canada than there are people. Not to mention it rains a lot. Not to mention half the year we’re basically drowning in fresh water (snow and ice). So I guess it’s a question of geography. In somewhere like southern California, water might be a big challenge, but year-round paradise like climate make food shortages unlikely, where as Canadians have no shortage of fresh water, but a 4 month growing season limits our food producing ability.
@@Foxhound1Nine You might want to do a bit of research on that. Maybe a month if you are lying on the couch and doing nothing, but your body needs a lot of energy when you are hurt, stressed or exersizing so even if you manage to survive a month without food you will be too weak to help yourself or defend yourself and your family.
I'm not really a prepper of any kind but I do find it interesting seeing/hearing how much planning you guys put into potential situations. I'm glad that you actually mentioned a thing that most of these guides always seem to miss, the community. Of course you can survive a week or whatever alone but if you're talking about long term stuff it's just pointless trying to do it on your own. And what would the point even be then? You're just delaying the inevitable if you're alone. There's a reason why humans have always operated in groups (or packs if you want) after all, it's just so much more efficient, safer etc. than being alone. When you're alone you have to do everything yourself, hunt, farm, purify water, cook, build/maintain/clean the shelter/house/camp, scavenge, keep watch/guard etc. etc. How is that ever going to work?
on the other hand, every survival show ends up with someone backstabbing the group. Most likely your community would turn on itself when scarcity hits the group.
I've invested in a large raised bed garden. I keep a garden journal. Taking notes on how, when , and preserving. The BEST thing to do NOW, is to do your research and take notes. Write it down. In a grid down situation, you can't just Google it. Do your homework. Take notes. Knowledge is not only power but it will keep you alive
At 67 and combat veteran of Vietnam x 2, and Desert Storm, I have seen how hunger and turmoil flourishes in countries. After Army retirement, I served as government employee with deployments to Korea, 5 years long, 3 tours in Iraq and 2 tours in Afghanistan. Side by side with soldiers in operations. Imagine a country coming to your lands and combat operations begin. Your home lost, no food and water, no electricity, no sanitation and insects invading your body. Our political environment today is leading to a civil war. Once side makes up stories and spews hate while the other side is silent and is weak. It will take patriots to stand up and restore the constitution. Socialism and communism is tearing our country down and soon will be at levels for pain and anger. SHTF event is near. Better be ready.

Same here. Just a heads up, but you probably already know. There's going to be a potato shortage. News articles say "french fry shortage" because of potatoes not being able to be harvested in time. We know more than just french fries are made with potatoes. Shortage = price increase.
A critical step not stressed nearly enough is you MUST very early after an SHTF event determine with good accuracy whether or not the situation will degrade into a long term survival issue. If the situation is likely to be corrected relatively quickly, nearly everyone will be able to make it through. But if the situation is one which will only deteriorate steadily, then VERY EARLY in the timeline you will need to do two things: (1) Get to a very remote area where you can avoid as much human contact as possible and which you can defend against any hostile contact and (2) prepare yourself to be entirely self sufficient for months or even years. Neither of those things are easy to do, even if you are well skilled and well prepared. Don't do those two things and you probably won't survive. The concept of being a part of a group of like minded people you can trust who work to collectively provide support and defense for everyone in the group NEVER works out once shortages develop. Survival will always become "of the fittest" with groups degrading into even becoming cannibals if that's what it takes for survival. There is no such thing as being able to trust a group once it becomes every man for himself. What we all better hope is that there never is a genuine long term survival situation where civilization cannot quickly recover. It will simply result in steady death of the existing human population one by one. People will not remain "civilized" once civilization collapses! That's a fact.
In a crisis you will be surprised how much easier it is to be social towards people...because all the fake bullshit will fall away it will only be about what everyone can bring to the cause (of surviving) at least at the beginning

@@mcg6513 I'm pretty much alone up here and much hated because of my AnCap leanings. No one will come to my aid when a 30 man SWAT team is stacked up outside my door. I will be forced to use doomsday device.
@Bad Dad I've been working on unconventional means, ranging from infrasonic transducers, microwave directional beams, infrared LASERs, potassium cyanide gas jets, flame throwers and even a few conventional weapons since the feds have been after me in the 1990s. Placing IEDs underground for long periods has it's risks. I'd like to have high walls and higher ground, making ground attacks impractical. I know I can't win this war, but if I can make the price of it prohibitive enough that they think twice before stealing someone else's property, I've accomplished my mission.
I didn`t realize my parents are preppers living in the mountains having their own spring as water source, independent solar power, a garden full of veggies and potatos, a punch of fruit trees and a chicken coop for eggs.. atleast I know where to go in case the grid goes down! I don`t think they are prepping for anything tho, but all this things come in handy..the rest like long lasting foods and meds I can prepare :D
The only thing left to decide is if you are willing to kill to keep it, and your family safe from marauding bands of thieves, or even your neighbor if he comes with a gun into your house.
Yes, please Mia. Do not tell anyone about where it is. Your parents deliberately picked a remote location, for just the very reason to stay far away from people, IN CASE . . . Please respect that thought, and it will probably save your life one day.

If you can find an old TV that has a plastic lens (called a Freznel lens) use that to focus the sun and heat up water. If you find a car window reflector you can form a cone shape and use it like a solar oven. If you have a piece of clear plastic and water you can focus the sun and heat water, just build some sort of frame to hold the water in the plastic. That is 3 ways to use focused sunlight to boil water and cook food without using any fuel.
We are as prepared as we can be. Hurricane Michael taught me a very valuable lesson- I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was before. We went 2 to 3 weeks with no electricity or water. We survived though
Great channel. I'm 56 and have been through several disaster scenarios. In my experience, 1st the ATM runs out of money, and at the same time the banks are closing down. You must have cash in small bills to buy things from others in the beginning. Be prepared so you don't have to do this. It sucks and can be dangerous! When I was a young man I bought water from the back of a U-Haul with cash. Folks should have a plan that everyone in the family can follow because after dark you don't want to be on the street. Let's say none of the many depressions, wars, or disasters ever happen again. What have you lost? Always be prepared as best you can and if something does happen your mind will be in a better place to react. Thank you for this very informative channel.
Great video, thanks for your work! I am in Argentina where on 6/19 of this year we had a total blackout throughout the country and to date the government has not given any explanation about its causes. The blackout happened on a Sunday morning and only lasted about 10 hours, I think it was a test to observe social behavior and anticipates something much bigger that is coming. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
My great grandma taught me to reuse milk jugs. Any size Pour a couple teaspoons of white vinegar in a fresh empty jug, put cap on and shake... remove cap, dump then wash. This will pull the milk out of the plastic. Fill with potable water and stick in freezer. Leave about an inch below the top to account for water expansion. Have as many as you can comfortable fit in freezer and still keep food.. When power goes out grab one frozen jug and put in fridge, keep the rest in the freezer. Don't open fridge or freezer unless you have to. The frozen jugs will slowly melt but will keep your food cold for 2 or 3 days. When jugs are melted you've got extra potable water to drink.
We have plenty of food also. I agree with you. Never thought about until a family member told me we need 6 months. Enough to go from growing season to growing season.
@@wbw1399 From one growing season to the next HARVEST may be as much as 18 months depending on the time of the year of the event. think a little more about it.
@@wbw1399 food prepping is the easiest and most efficient way to staying alive in shtf. I was recently discussing this with my wife when you have a food supply you still need to ration your food and lose weight like everybody else or they're going to know that you have food stored. Also when the government sends out FEMA trucks or whatever they're called to hand out food, you would have to make an appearance and collect food with the rest of the civilians so this way it keeps you and your preps safe from a possible attack.
At 8:14 (approximately) you talk about lines at the gas station. If the grid is down only gas stations that have generator set ups for their pumps will be functioning. We had many in my area (large metropolitan area) not open when we've lost power. Get to know the ones in your area that have generator capability.
Exactly. Bugging out just makes you an easier target. How long can a person survive on what they can carry with them? I really like the guys with the huge trucks who think they are going to pack it full of supplies and flee the city. I laugh and ask them where they plan to go. Any road that goes any where of any importance will be packed with cars trying to get to the same place. You'd be much better off staying home and homesteading where you live.
@@brandons9138 I agree if that person lives in a remote area or the complete opposite - a community that is sticking around to protect it- otherwise if you live in an urban area that falls prey to gangs you will have to bug out
@@spades512 Well if you are in a SHTF situation I'd hope that anybody else that stuck around whether in the boonies or the city would have the smarts to know that there is safety in numbers. Trying to go it alone, even in the relative safety of the back woods, can lead to a hard and perilous life. It's just a different set of dangers. In the city it's gangs and general lawlessness. In the woods Mother Nature can take you out just as fast as a gang could.
For the Average Person, bugging out is not a good idea unless you already have a place totally supplied and you bug out immediately. A back pack will not get you very far. For the AP, stay where you are (you know the area and the people), start stocking up now ( a house full of food goes a long way). A gun weights a lot when you're also hiking with a back pack full of food, ammo, etc. . When it's leaning against the wall in your house filled with food and ammo, not so much. Start forming your survival community now.
So true. If you plan to pack your canned goods from the kitchen you will only be able to carry about 3 days worth of food as non dried foods are too heavy to carry alongside your other 15kg of gear and valuables. Most people will only manage 10-20km a day with a 20kg backpack.
northern_lights whenever me and my siblings theorized about this situation we always talked about the dangers of being a women in a post apocalypse setting. Wouldn’t be like the movies :/ luckily I have two huge brothers who’d die to protect me
Imagine going through all this work to survive just to get gunned down by a group bigger then yours who wants your stuff lol. The real winners are the ones who die quick in the beginning.
Bicycles... get one plus enough materials for it(chains, tubes 'n tires, wheels, brake pads and lines) to keep it moving for 1-2 years. That and a backpack would enable you to get out of just about any region in the country (except a bridges closed New Jersey).
Where I live there's not much traffic so this issue of gridlock won't exist. Cheers from northern Canada where i've got solar panels and a 500 Gallon tank of 94 Octane gas in my driveway and quite a large stockpile of oil.
Having been in a grid down environment the first thing I would recommend is reading and understanding the psychology of a disaster...knowing and being able to adjust to a world without law and order is vital to your survival and the survival of family and friends. Knowing how to comfort the young when disaster strikes, knowing the signs of a troubled mind, and how to prevent withdrawal will be more important than most of Maslow’s theory. Understanding The Who what when where why and how the progression of self through a disaster will pay dividends that very few internet Prepper have even thought of. Thanking you for your concern for other...beyond72...
It'll be us dirt poor farmers and ranchers that will sustain longterm, hunters as well, during the break down that is coming. Just need the power to go down and no one would know a thing till its too late.
People that live near population centers think they can get by with hunting... but after a few weeks the wildlife population will be decimated. Cities only have an average of 3 days food supplies so it wouldn't be long before all these new hunters start invading rural areas.
We're you live will save your life. I've been off grid for 26 years and never had a power failure. I've even emp hardened my systems. And have back ups for my back ups. Raised my kids here and my grand kids and it's all they know. Planning ahead and beeing prepared will save you.
@@stevenw3988 I was thinking the same thing. You have to think that if EVERYONE started hunting and fishing you would find a disparity there as well. here is the thing. All your foundational knowledge is a lie. leading to your post here. @Gravity Slave Can is an extreme term. The majority of people when faced with malnutrition, absent calories and exposure, stress.... yeah a month is fairly accurate.
Take away the food from a family man and watch how far he will go to feed his family,; he would do things even he thought he was incapable of and never though he would go to these extremes.

No water means toilets will not work. How many have thought about what they will do then? On our property we have a well with a hand pump, back up generator with 1,000 gal propane tank to be used very sparingly, and we use a septic tank.
You´re much better placed than the 90% of people living in cities buddy. But please, don´t turn on that genset when that remaining 90% starts to flee out the cities.
Prepping in an urban setting imo is a waste of time. Most people have no clue what to do when the tap stops flowing and the lights don't come on. For me , gotta find a bucket , and a rope , open the well , carry water , dump in toilet , done. Actually we usualy use the water for baths then dump it in the toilet.
Great overview, calmly given. It hit on each potential reality and I found myself reflecting on the dramatizations I've read in several series of SHTF & post-SHTF novels via Kindle. Thank you for making such a clear list of points to be conscious of. Worth reviewing regularly.
Communications: Solar panels, small wind turbines and rechargeable batteries for *use with amateur communications equipment.* Isolated groups will need to know the locations of violent marauding gangs or other dangers, so this form of communication is imperative. There simply won't be any other forms of communication.
He didn't really predict it though, toilet paper is one of the first things that stores are out of stock on during every crisis. In states with regular emergency situations like Florida, it happens every year.
Preppers weren't the ones out buying toilet paper and causing "The Great American TP Run", it was the non-preppers that did that mess, because they weren't prepared.
Every one says get out of the city, but if you have all your food and water stocked away there, you will leave yourself out in the open, hungry, and thirsty like the rest of the hoard. Every one will be out there wandering. If you have no second summer home to escape to it's hard! The next best thing is to hone your Gray man skills. Otherwise your car will be on the side of the road when you run out of gas.
A bug outter without any where to go is basically a refugee ...You can only carry limited resources and have no network for support .Better to stay in place low key with your supplies and a few trusted friends and defend your castle ...I live in England so really theres no where to bug out to anyway IFSHT ..The notion of running around sherwood forrest like robin hood isn't realistic ..Theres no wild life to hunt as well expect squirrels and rats ..
There’s been enough small disasters to show how well people help each other like hurricanes and Ca. Fires. Yes the big cities will be chaotic and scary but in country here in NM I have hope we can rise above.
True. In Canada, you don't leave home without some way to make fire in winter, "just in case". My car, my apartment, my camp equipment, "bug out" bag, etc. All have lighters somewhere.
Never discount a zippo lighter ,put extra flints in bottem and will burn anything flamable like Cologne ,perfume , gas ,lighter fluid ,BBQ lighter gas ,white gas ,WD 40 ,ect
Peter james had one my dad gave me for 20 years my little brother and i would experiment on what we could get to burn in it and pretty much anything flammable would go always kept extra flints in the bottom of it ,lost it in a employee's truck i think who disliked me we never got along and always kissed my brothers ass but he denied it ,nothing i could do about it ,it was actually my grandfathers from ww2 but this is all 25 years ago now. They are cheap for Chinese knockoff ones at any liquor store .
I planted 13 beans along my fence. It's early days, but so far only 4 plants have sprouted. 3 onions sprouted in the cupboard and I planted them 1 is doing well 1 is sort of ok and 1 is dead. I planted a bulb of garlic cloves individually, they all died. I planted another in potting mix in a pot and half seem to be sprouting. I planted pumpkin seeds after I ate a pumpkin and out of a clump of seeds I have one healthy plant. Next to it I planted watermelon seeds and nothing. It's not so easy every time. Sometimes you're!lucky, sometimes not. Now I know it's best to start garlic in pots, not straight in the garden.
Have tools 🛠🧰 and a nice portable toolbox , because there will be no repair or maintenance folks around . Scavenging will be necessary for survival , and learn how to use tools ⚒️
That's my thinking as well. I've actually been trying to stock up on useful tools. I have a 5500 watt generator that my little flux core welder runs on. A smaller quieter generator, just bought a post hole auger and cement mixer. Chainsaw. I want to get a log splitter next
Family and friends of mine live in the mountains with land. They have springs, ponds with fish, hunting and canning abilities as well as making natural medicine.
Lots of first timers out there planting seeds and growing mostly weeds. Lots of them have no clue what do or how to do it.

Animals are not necessary for eating and surviving. Just saying is all.

There are different types of preppers. If you've got a wardrobe of military surplus camo gear because you're preparing for an EMP attack or the reversal of the magnetic poles, then you're in the crazy club. If you're just making sure you can last a few days in your house without running water and power then you're not.

It is better to be overprepared and having to deal with a minor problem than vice versa.
COVID-19 is reality.... This too might be 🤷
if this is the reality you don't even need to bug out.
That's because its BS....its a TV show man

It has put a lot of people to sleep for sure, for ever,
Unfortunately people still think the vaccine will fix everything. They didn’t learn anything from this and still refuse to prepare for anything else
We are not fragile. Our leaders are. We are now 8 months into a 2 week shut down for the flu. C'mon folks, get your shit together.
The virus isn't the problem, it's the government's response, destroying the economy ,madness
@@hobohound8310 You still believe the virus is the problem with society?
"Give us 2 weeks to flatten the curve! We will be back to normal in 15 days!"
It's December, fool!
Exactly
You can treat it with stabilizer, and rotate your fuel stores
@War N Peace it adds another 6 to 9 months of shelf stability, maybe longer
Bro, he's wrong about paper being worthless in the upcoming SHTF scenario. In fact, it will be more valuable than silver and gold.

Why you put food storage before water storage is unclear to me. As I am sure you are aware, water will keep you alive much longer that food.
Agreed. You can live for close to 3 or 4 weeks without food, but not even a week without water.
Bart McRae
I think it really depends on geography.
@@edchevalier269 true, human body can survive about 6 months without food but with water you're looking at about 72 hours.
Finding a mutual support group will be critical. I’m glad you talked about. It may be the number 1 thing to your survival.

Just look at what everyone did with the toilet paper, bleach and cleaning wipes. Now just imagine if it was food and their family is starving 👀👀👀
Parents of hungry kids will be the ones to watch out for.

I bought a pocket sized fresnal lens 3-pack for like $8. It’s amazing!
Thanks a lot man.!
Twice I’ve seen people trashing big screen TV s and stopped and taken the lenses for exactly this reason!
We had to build solar stills in Boy Scouts.

We are as prepared as we can be. Hurricane Michael taught me a very valuable lesson- I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was before. We went 2 to 3 weeks with no electricity or water. We survived though
Katrina taught us a lot of lessons, too. No practice for an event like actually going through it already.
Definitly subscribing. People take their relative peace for granted as if the disasters ocurring in other countries could never happen to them.
One of your best productions in 2019. Very meticulous & articulated.

I'm glad to have a 90 day food supplies, I do have to stock up on a little more water. But past that I'm good for the next few months.

At 8:14 (approximately) you talk about lines at the gas station. If the grid is down only gas stations that have generator set ups for their pumps will be functioning. We had many in my area (large metropolitan area) not open when we've lost power. Get to know the ones in your area that have generator capability.

Bugging in will almost always be a better idea than bugging out.
@@brandons9138 True! Wouldn't want to face either of those scenarios even with preparation
For the Average Person, bugging out is not a good idea unless you already have a place totally
supplied and you bug out immediately. A back pack will not get you very far. For the AP, stay
where you are (you know the area and the people), start stocking up now ( a house full of food
goes a long way). A gun weights a lot when you're also hiking with a back pack full of food,
ammo, etc. . When it's leaning against the wall in your house filled with food and ammo, not
so much.

Already started bartering,it's working great, everyone is happy with Fair trade
such a good argument for off the grid living and always keeping your car full of gas or electricity...
If gridlock occurs your vehicle will be useless. Horses or motorcycles are a must for transportation
Bicycles... get one plus enough materials for it(chains, tubes 'n tires, wheels, brake pads and lines) to keep it moving for 1-2 years.

I always figured 1/2 the population will be dead within the 1st month from lack of knowledge of how to hunt, fish, get water and stay healthy.
Probably would be better for them to learn how to farm. After a month in the US there would not be much left to hunt or fish.
@@stevenw3988 I was thinking the same thing. You have to think that if EVERYONE started hunting and fishing you would find a disparity there as well. These animals not being able to reproduce fast enough to keep up with the humans killing them off..
Also due to a shortened water supply, a contaminated water system..etc...smh...
here is the thing. All your foundational knowledge is a lie. leading to your post here. The only environments that sustain mass human life are un natural ones. the ones the Enemies who have taken over our nations, are pledging to destroy. Put people into the wild, no matter how skilled they are, they will die in droves. Its our balance of farm and urban environments that sustain our lives.

Basically everything here happened after hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico (2017). That event is basically a case study for preppers.

He didn't really predict it though, toilet paper is one of the first things that stores are out of stock on during every crisis. In states with regular emergency situations like Florida, it happens every year.
Preppers weren't the ones out buying toilet paper and causing "The Great American TP Run", it was the non-preppers that did that mess, because they weren't prepared.
step 1: get out of the city
Yes quickly
