A Outstanding and under appreciated vocal group from the late 60s to mid 70s.
Not at all under appreciated. They had many top ten hits that are still timeless.

This song was originally written as part of the score for the musical "HAIR" (called a "hippie musical" at the time). There were other songs that made top 40 radio charts in the top 5 - including "HAIR", by The Cowsills, "Age of Aquarius / Let the Sun Shine in" sung by the 5th Dimension and "Good Morning Starshine". Incredible soundtrack.

The American Indians had the best description to explain who you are. For example, the word
"friend" in some Indian tribes was " One who shares my sorrows" . So beautiful...so descriptive of a friend.

Three Dog Night....What they do to a song is fantastic. Three excellent lead singers. They also cover songs rearranging them and turn them into top hits when the original releases weren't. Loved them from the start.

Always loved this tune from 3 Dog Night! As a young kid, I had their album, Golden Biscuits, which was a compilation of their Hits, up to that point, which was about 1971..

When I was a preteen I liked Three Dog Night, and my older brother said it was Bubblegum. He said that about a lot of bands I liked, but he was wrong. He did turn me on to the Stones The Who Zeppelin Floyd and Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Etc.
He was a guitar player and we played all the Classics for decades together. Rip

I just turned 68 and I have about 5 true friends, many acquaintances and lots of pals. A true friendship is a diamond, not a cubic zirconia.
Please do videos. Watching the artists sing their hearts out is so important to those of us raised on Arena Rock and MTV when it used to be good.

Biz, you question things. I think you have a slice of the philosopher in you. Check out some general philosophy. Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" is a good start. Or, of course, there are the Greeks. Pick a philosophy that you like, but I would avoid political, since they embrace the emotional, instead of the logical side.

This band, gets labeled, too often as just an AM radio hit machine. Whatever the genre you put them in, they put out a lot of music over a time span that saw the formation and dissolution of many great bands and the songs still hold up pretty well compared to what’s being produced by todays music industry.
