- Now this was a really awesome find, there are many different variations of Chinooks but the theater of war where it first made its debut was in the Vietnam War. So I am really excited to show you this classic heavy lifter of that time. The molds are clean and there are a lot of parts, but the construction is simple and the decals are really good quality. You'll definitely what one after you see whats inside...

My wife gave me this same kit for my birthday this year. It's my first Trumpeter kit, and I gave it a 10 under my ratings system. Unlike other kits from the same region (China), the instructions look great -- clear and simple -- and the glossy paint guide is great. Some trivia: 'Chinook' is a native-Canadian word for "Warm Wind" that comes down on the east side of the Rockies in late winter, and DANG is it welcomed! Another thing many don't know is that it can actually set down and float on water for a short time, and is still used in many special forces seaborne operations.
10/10 for sure totally agree and thank you for trivia that ability to float on water is quite something and its a testiment to the design. I really would love to see what yor finished version looked like, I am hoping to have mine haul a howitzer or maybe a Sheridan but more to come as you can tell its been a while and work has taken priority but I am still very much here :D
