    Hello Tracie and Jodi, congratulations on your Spincycle collab! The color is spectacular. I'm so excited to say that I've signed up for your Mediterranean cruise in the fall. It was a total leap of faith as I've never traveled by myself before. I cannot wait! I'm imagining my own "pinch me" moment.

    I think the trick to knitting with Nutiden is absolutely incorporating it with a mohair. I've knitted 4 jumpers using Nutiden and mohair and they are honestly to die for! The wool doesnt break that often, amazingly. Thanks for this podcast

    I love nutiden, I used to knit with plötulopi and it is similar but the softness is different- but it takes time to get used to it. and it is worth it - you get a strurdy and light fabric.
    First of all, one needs to accept it will break. When knitted single, I roll it up and then you sort of "spin it" in a ball and keep the ball in a bowl, secondly it is not for fast, mindless knit! it will break.
    I also knit with mohair, and it is easier.

  • @CathConnolly
    @CathConnolly 12 днів тому

    I love nutiden I’m new to using it but it recommends making small balls of it and it helps with breakage oh I love it ..

  • @heidijohnson3965
    @heidijohnson3965 15 днів тому +1

    Jodi Hi! I found rewinding by hand the Nutiden yarn into a ball causing less breakage. I learned this trick by watching their vlogs and Mr. Nutiden is frequently hand winding the spun yarn into a ball.

    Place 2 plates of Nutiden on a table or floor in front of you, gently unwind the thread and then wrap into a ball. It helps to decrease the breakage. Single thread- hold with mohair. It needs a light touch and death grip is out, lol. Don’t give up, it knits up into a fabulous fabric.

Came back from a cruise, bought a new house over by Disney World, getting new siding here this week (thanks to the Hurricanes in October), had company this week… AND getting ready for another cruise next week. Then we come home, close on the new house, get started putting in a new kitchen and then getting ready for a 35 day cruise to Hawaii and Pacific islands in February! But finding time to knit on a shawl, afghan and socks! Miss you guys! Pam and Stu

    Hi, girls! Jodi, Nutiden tips coming. I hated it at first, too. Could not adjust my knitting style to that staple length. After watching a ton of tutorials, this is what I came up with:
    1) hand wind yarn from the plate into smaller balls, like the size of a big grapefruit.
    2) figure out the staple length and knit holding the yarn close to that length. Hold your yarn close to the needles.
    3) gentle. Be loose and easy with your throwing. Look at your work in the beginning.
    If you follow these rules and adapt your knitting style to them, I promise you will have fun!

    • @nanettekroupa1371

    question - I am a fairly new knitter --- on the Sherbet bandana -- on row 6 - instruction is" Inc Row 6 (WS): P1, PTBL, P to end." does it mean to P the first stitch, the Purl the next stitch in back loop, and then (which would be 3rd stitich) purl to the end of the row. Only Purl in back loop for one stitch?

    I’ve knit a ton of sweaters with nutiden. The end product is great but to knit with it, is an effort. Roll into balls first. Hold double or with another yarn. Go slow.
