If music and song were a colour, then this would be a rainbow of magic, beauty and memory. It's a warm hug of familiar melodies and sounds, but with new flavours that's are exciting and different to the taste. A unique audio experience, Thankyou.
Since introduced to Spell Songs, a daily repeated listening is my aural nourishment. Fedeing deep hungers for our natural worlds' wonders, small and big.
This is suddenly one of my Spell Song favorites! What a magical sound and expression you all created. I wish I could have been there. So so glad to be receiving such nurturing every time I listen. 😊 Sending you all so much love, soul family. 💗
Simply stunning, amazing sounds, the textures and harmonies are just incredible, weaving around a wonderful lyric. It evokes a sense of redolence , a feeling for another time (although still relevant today), but I think of my Highland ancestors “digging in” and surviving, but how hard times were. This track is some achievement. Well done Karine and the stunningly voiced Julie Fowlis, this is special guys. Thank-you.
Heard you Karine, sing this song solo earlier today with the pleasure of enduring your wonderful workshop at St. George's hall my heart leapt with joy, thankyou ❤🎉
I've been thinking how could they top Spell Songs I (contender for album of the decade IMO)? On the strength of this they might well have pulled it off.
This song is sublime. It makes me terribly sad as well as joyful. It's so full of melancholy. Perhaps it's because of the fragility of the thrift, bearing all the storms that threaten to overwhelm it. We are so fragile too.
One beautiful new release, and what an amazing place in the world to record this one...I recognize the studio. It must have been lifegiving and inspiring to be altogether recording these tracks. Each one of you are such gifts, treasures to behold.
@@moonmothman Most welcome. If you read up on this amazing sanctuary for musicians to record at, and stay while doing so, as you may have done already, you will see how freeing it is for this talent to record in such surroundings. I learned of this place via Mary Chapin Carpenter's last few albums recorded here, and Robert Vincent as well. To see Kris and the entire ensemble of The Lost Words -- Spell Songs get here to record, it isn't hard to see why their work came out polished, but they are amazing in their own rights individually and as group. Stay safe Brian!
Well, since my last comment of 8 months ago: Most of us are certainly doing just that; digging in! Poverty and hardship is certainly a limit and not a failing.

The whole album is amazing, Thrift of course is beautiful. How amazing is Karine's voice? Just amazing.
Wow just found you. Stunned and moved by the beauty of the words and music and when I close my eyes the images that are evoked. Such peace ❣️
This is one of the most special bands and chemistry in the whole world. A pleasure to witness.
