I wish you could understand the sheer level of emotion that the detail and beauty of this creation has pulled out of me. This is the Star Trek that is in my heart. You nailed it. The lighting is so beautifully done.
The engineering section from the 2009 Star Trek was a brewery, its worth bearing in mind that the ship from the reboot movies is supposed to predate this ship by nearly 100 years so it should look much more refined that any ship from that era.
It' like the days of Cochrane sticking stuff with tape to the Phoenix are over by the supposed time of the shitverse. I mean the modified Titan II looks like a marvel of design next to JJprise. The reason for the brewery fiasco is the cheap look that JJ stands for (and likes?) and the diminished cost, for no one had to design an engineering set and build it. Trek was a haven for excellence in SF since TNG, in terms of prop and set design as well as storytelling. JJVerse cannot be appreciated politely ...
What is this? Who are you? This is incredible. The quality of the interiors combined with the retro looking lobby... I'm speechless. I would consider paying money for more, for example the Sovereign bridge and engineering. Just awesome. This is quality.
MY. GOD. your camera movements and render style is so real, so real, so fuckign real i'm completely suspending disbelief in spots and just living this as if it was filmed in a movie. omg so good.
Here on 03/28/2021 and it shows up again in my suggestions like an old friend. Best rendering thus far and is still holding up beautifully. Hyper realistic is the best way to coin this.
Several elements of this piece is far better than those in the movies. Excellent job, especially when you consider it was imagined and crafted by a single person in their spare time and not an army of paid contracted staff.
What makes this work so impressive is the love for the little details, that makes this rendering so realistic: Natural lens flares and the little flaws in the picture, that are usual for analog film (spots, that appear only for one frame).
this is an absolutely fascinating addition o the Star Trek lore as part of the perks of a Star Fleet Captain, his own, for lack of a better word, Yacht.
This is incredible! I was just remarking at how someone involved in the series must have had a fantastic camera and alot of spare time when I read down into the comments. I'm floored by this.
Its really a perfect CGI recreation, the glass reflections, the lens refractions, the amazing detail and all these casual things like glasses of water on the table, its looking so damn real, congratulations! never saw anything like this, even TV CGI never looked that real!
Even most cats with Vray and Redshift, can't make it look this good. Not the tool but the hardware aka brain aka skills. 10 years later, still awesome.
Exactly, which for myself, this tells me I'm still not using Lightwave's full render potential. I must first become better at it, and once I've achieved this type of realism, then consider another rendering option like Octane, etc.
@colorado121 True, although I personally prefer the look LW gives. It's like a camera, and this is the "camera" I prefer. I also use Arnold renderer in 3dsmax, and for spacey animations I like the results I get with LW, but Arnold can make some incredible stuff. I have posted in my channel a render comparison of two models, and the results aren't that dissimilar.
I love how we an see the back of the saucer and nacelles out the window of the conference lounge. It always bugged me in the show and movies that we never really saw parts of the ship out the window. Great video!
I didn't realize I was watching CGI...it's THAT good. You've just shown us all that with the tools and the talent, we can explore aspects of the Star Trek universe that they never could on TV, and it can look just as good if not BETTER.
I've always thought a 3D model allowing you to freely walk around the Enterprise D would be a great thing (best with crew interaction, like in an RGP for example) and this comes closer to that than anything else. How much do we need to pay you in order to create such a model? :-)
You left me speechless and in tears. I cant find the words to describe how absolutely amazing this short video glimpse actually is! Thank you so much! ^_^
I'm an avid modeller and work with physical models all the time, I'm also very familiar with the way Star Trek 'looks' and I have to say sir that this looks incredible! It actually looks like a scale model or set. Wow.
Wow, that is as awesome as the Ent-D construction project on the Unreal engine. Excellently done. I'm going to rewind this for a while now. Love that 80s vintage space ship look. The opening sequence and then the airlock design makes me feel I'm watching the refit enterprise in one of the classic movies! All the curves and angles and consoles, and with the big hull markings in that specific lettertype.. But its the E. Very cool!
OMFG this is amazing! I thought it was a set, at first. I was like,"Wait...this is CG? No way! Is it?? Holy crap..IT IS!!" BEAUTIFUL job! As others have already mentioned, hope to see your work in a movie soon!
The transitions, the rack focus, the grain... wow...In my head I kept thinking "wasn't this CG?? I remember this being CG... but ...this looks like the set!"
Wowthis is probably "the" cleanest vid I have ever seen of the yatch and the observation lounge! When I placed the vid on 1080p, it looks so realistic, especially of the view in the observation lounge looking out the window at the engine nacelles, it left me speechless. Great job IRML...... hope you get some views of the bridge and engineering, it woul be stellar work if you do to add on to these other two vids you have now. Once again, GREAT JOB!!!
I just saw this -- I swear I thought this was actual physical sets in a studio. The quality of the materials, lighting, and the tricks with the camera perspective were incredible. The switch of focus at 0:12 was especially effective, the lights passing overhead at 0:34 were believable, the simple pause in motion as the camera passes through the door at 0:43 was just attention to detail. The flaws in the film were like you would see in a classic cinema cut, little spots flickering here and there, only aided in the fantasy. I guess I'm too used to the CGI you get from Disney and I think I can confidently spot CGI coming a mile off -- and then you go and trick my eyes into believing what I'm seeing is real. Watching it back my eyes are still tricked by what they're seeing! Incredible work, well done :D
9 years later and still looks fantastic.

...brought a tear to my eyes 😢...felt like if i was actually there for a sec
Its a very good video! one of the best I've seen! the "First Contact soundtrack perfectly sets off the visuals for maximum effect.
For 12 years ago, this still holds up rather well. Great work!
well said
The music, the displays, the designs, this is an era that needs to last forever.
I wish you could understand the sheer level of emotion that the detail and beauty of this creation has pulled out of me. This is the Star Trek that is in my heart. You nailed it. The lighting is so beautifully done.
Now this is the Star Trek I love. The ships designs are gorgeous and realistic. The inside doesn't look like a damn beer factory.
The engineering section from the 2009 Star Trek was a brewery, its worth bearing in mind that the ship from the reboot movies is supposed to predate this ship by nearly 100 years so it should look much more refined that any ship from that era.
Beergineering?
The beer vats I just assume are the deuterium tanks and/or the antimatter tanks. We just finally get to see them for once.
mrjensee. how is the E more realistic than a real place?
It' like the days of Cochrane sticking stuff with tape to the Phoenix are over by the supposed time of the shitverse. I mean the modified Titan II looks like a marvel of design next to JJprise. The reason for the brewery fiasco is the cheap look that JJ stands for (and likes?) and the diminished cost, for no one had to design an engineering set and build it. Even now, after all these years, this short still blows me away
It's been a while, how ya doing?
@@IRML oof lol
What is this? Who are you? This is incredible. The quality of the interiors combined with the retro looking lobby... I'm speechless. I would consider paying money for more, for example the Sovereign bridge and engineering. Just awesome. This is quality.
nope I'm just a guy
Do you do custom UA-cam channel intros with music and design?
MY. GOD. your camera movements and render style is so real, so real, so fuckign real i'm completely suspending disbelief in spots and just living this as if it was filmed in a movie. omg so good.
The feeling i get from this vid is one of old friends and great adventures...
We want a full tour of the ship.
our all Star Fleet ships! Our all Star Trek ships... *dreaming*
Here on 03/28/2021 and it shows up again in my suggestions like an old friend. Best rendering thus far and is still holding up beautifully. Hyper realistic is the best way to coin this.
this holds up even in 2020
Several elements of this piece is far better than those in the movies. Excellent job, especially when you consider it was imagined and crafted by a single person in their spare time and not an army of paid contracted staff.
Seriously good work. Absolute realism achieved.
Best animation outside of a movie, two thumbs up!
That was amazing. The video had a slight grain to it that made it look like you filmed a set using actual film. And the realism, incredible!
A very trekian prestation, it almost looks real! and you did this on your own time and money. You sir are very talented!
Amazingly well done. Has the realistic feel of the model shots from Star Trek the Motion Picture.
Crystal clear....and soo realistic. I wish for ALL Star Trek like this!
This was just so beautiful, love how we can see the aft saucer and nacelles from the observation room 😍😍😍
Gorgeous! The film grain and flicker is the icing on the cake.
I'm stunned. That's just about the most realistic imaging I've ever seen. Bravo!!
the lighting in this room looks amazing you really nailed it
The CGI here is better than what I see in new movies.
What makes this work so impressive is the love for the little details, that makes this rendering so realistic: Natural lens flares and the little flaws in the picture, that are usual for analog film (spots, that appear only for one frame).
The graininess of the footage is PERFECT for the era of film.
The added film grain effect brings so much to this. The attention to little details is awesome.
This is so amazing. I half thought some of the shots were actual footage.
Incredible. And the music... tears
this is an absolutely fascinating addition o the Star Trek lore as part of the perks of a Star Fleet Captain, his own, for lack of a better word, Yacht.
I love the film effect omg the fading and the colour especially does it for me
The slight camera shake and film grain makes this feels very authentic!
I don't know how many times I've watched this video over the past six years, but every time I do, I get chills and goosebumps.
you’ve nailed the lighting! I would love to see more videos like this! finding cool angles and beauty shot of the Enteprise E or D
How does this look so good??!
This is incredible! I was just remarking at how someone involved in the series must have had a fantastic camera and alot of spare time when I read down into the comments. I'm floored by this.
Hot damn -- was that ALL CGI ..?? If so, it was EXCELLENT ! Bravo!!
D.A.
The lighting is what makes this so believable. Never stop doing what you're doing.
Are you sure you didnt actually film this in a created set?
who cares just enjoy
Idiot, he was giving the creator a compliment
Great seeing the true view outside the observation lounge windows
Wow this is a ST fan's piece of heaven - such great work! Thanks for sharing!
Am blown away seeing this for the first time. WOW!!!
Yowsa, as of today this is 12 years old and still looks great 🤷♂️
Stunning work in both the modeling and the animation! Incredibly realistic, with a feeling of real substance that most CGI work lacks. Phenomenal job!
This made my jaw drop literally. I've never seen the interior done with such detail and acturacy!
Its really a perfect CGI recreation, the glass reflections, the lens refractions, the amazing detail and all these casual things like glasses of water on the table, its looking so damn real, congratulations! never saw anything like this, even TV CGI never looked that real!

@colorado121 Film Overlay? Righhhhhht. Must be next to the "Make it look great" button.
Huge FB Lightwave Presence to see who's using it.
@colorado121 Thanks for the words!
Wow. Incredible! I miss this Star Trek.
This is so beautiful, I want to cry
how does this look so good?
like this looks better than most CGI you would see in any hollywood movie.
I love how we an see the back of the saucer and nacelles out the window of the conference lounge. It always bugged me in the show and movies that we never really saw parts of the ship out the window. Great video!

I'm speechless. My brain won't accept that this is all CG. You should be making movies and shows.
Incredible. I thought this was bonus footage from a DVD until I read the description.
That is some impressive work. Nice job.

Shut up and take my money! Thats what I would say!
Nuno Miguel Ahahahahahahaha you made my day :-D
New Resident Evil Save Room Music Glad to help...another of many services I provide!
too much!
Your wish is coming true.
www.enterprise3dproject.com/
That view out to the saucer section and nacelles is something I've wanted to see for ages!
jawdropping work especially for 2011
Damn this looks very realistic, you really got the lighting perfect. Mad respect.
That is so unbelievably fantastic!!! Makes me feel nostalgia for "my old" Star Trek...
You mean this isnt a real set? This is some amazing CG! Literally only of the only times i have ever genuinely been fooled by a completely CG vid!
most consumers have no idea what path tracers are capable of, and hence berate cg.
@@geordi5054 That's because it's almost never this good. The realism in this video puts damn near all movies to shame.
There are no words to express how brilliant that was!
Wow! You really put together some awesome video here! Very well done!
Has to be some of the best CGI I've ever seen, Lighting is truly inspiring give them Hollywood boys a run for the money....
You left me speechless and in tears. I cant find the words to describe how absolutely amazing this short video glimpse actually is!
Thank you so much! ^_^
I can't believe this. It still looks so goddamn good.
I think we will see the enterprise e one last time in picard season 2.
I was 12 when first contact was released, she will always be my favourite xx
i was 15 when i watched first contact at the cinema, the sovereign was a great ship
Most photo-realistic thing I've ever seen somebody do. Excellent job!
Have to say that's absolutely stunning. A piece of artwork in its own right.
Years later and I JUST noticed the "Caution: Forcefield" marking.
This is just jaw dropping. Really incredible work. The film grain effect is spot on.
This video reminded me there’s hope in the world.
Man am I glad I stumbled onto this...
This is incredible!!! It blew my mind. I would love to see more!
I'm an avid modeller and work with physical models all the time, I'm also very familiar with the way Star Trek 'looks' and I have to say sir that this looks incredible! It actually looks like a scale model or set. Wow.

This is really good . It has that bright feel that you only saw in Star Trek the motion picture
Just want to reinforce what has been said by everyone else, this is absolutely incredible, superb 3d work, I'm literally speechless.
this and your other captains yacht sequence ( the yacht cockpit ) are outstanding - hope to see more
10 years later this pops up in my UA-cam recommendation? Huh 🤔. The First Contact theme song gets me every time. 😭
This is CGI 13 years ago? Wow. Why wasn’t this person hired for doing the Enterprise series FX?
This is 9 years old?!?!?!?
The transitions, the rack focus, the grain... wow...In my head I kept thinking "wasn't this CG?? I remember this being CG... but ...this looks like the set!"
To me it actually looks better and "more real" than the set ... because Riker, Troi, and Wesley aren't filling up the scene.
i just spent five minutes trying to figure out which movie you took this scene from...
thats just how brilliant this is. hope you have more to come :)
Woah, well done. Very photoreal.
There's something so serene about the video above.

VERY well done! The after effects work also made it look like real filmed movie footage. Very nice.
What an amazing piece of work you have done here.
Good grief... can't believe this was made in 2011!
This is insanely great. Makes me feel so nostalgic. Amazing work!
Out frigging standing,, Dude that looked like a Movie set, you Have some talent there dude,,
Ok this is absolitly amazing! This looks incredible, you should get an award for this!
Like I was really there. Walking through the hallways to the ship. Really amazing!!!

and this was made 13 years ago and by a fan no less on his on his own time and money!
only one word to describe it: WOW!
great work!!! looks very very realistic!!!
Absolutely breathtaking
this and your other captains yacht sequence ( the yacht cockpit ) are oustanding - hope to see more
