probably the most satisfying ending for the party, OP, the Host, and heck even Mr neckbeard as he finally got to experience some consequences for his actions
Yeah truly the best ending. I mean it did take a while but by the 3rd campaign they were enjoying themselves basically Grimey served as entertainment by then. They still play together and Grimey is gone. Best ending possible.
Gods, I feel so, so bad for Host... Grimey is a _textbook_ narcissistic abuser; attaching himself to a people pleaser with low self esteem, socially isolating his victim by claiming he's the only one they can trust, becoming an angry saboteur when his victim shows signs of healing... Just disgusting. Still, this is an important story because it shows that this kind of abuse isn't limited to romantic relationships, and how these kinds of garbage people can be shut down if one or more component and confident adults have the opportunity to handle them like the spoiled, destructive toddlers they are. (Bro is a bro among bros, and OP's in-character and meta-meta revenge was just... 😘🤌 I hope Host is doing better now with friends who care and a wife who genuinely loves him, and I hope Grimey, whether he's getting some mental help or just sitting alone in his pit of self loathing, is at least not torturing anyone else. Thanks so much for telling this wild story!
I had a friend like Host, We met at Uni, Hosts parents bought a nice townhouse in the city where Uni was. Another Friend and I moved in with Host/friend in Second year, we paid rent everything was fine, his parents were really nice. 3rd year our friend left to be with his GF in another city. This is when the Grimy friend moved into his room. Grimy friend was his *friend* from highschool. Grimy friend did not pay rent. Grimy Friend Tried to not pay power, gas or internet either expecting Host and I to be the only ones to pay it. I put my foot down and even though Grimy cried about it, we split power, internet and gas 3 ways. Grimys parents where loaded, he had a nice car and always had expensive things so I have no idea why he would not pay rent to his Generous Friends Parents. Grimy was also acist, Host is of chinese descent and I am polynesian. He would non stop make acist remarks. One night he was doing his usual stuff at a party and I and host went to pick him up because he was drunk and people there actually texted us to come and get him or someone was going to do something. Outside the house in front of everyone he punches me, He breaks some bones in his hand and tears some ligaments in his shoulder. I am fine, he then makes a big fuss about getting the police involved ret conning it that I attacked him, but everyone saw what happened so he sulked. Having enough I move out to flat with some other friends to finish Uni. Fast forward 4 years Grimy is still living at Hosts Parents Town house, all this time rent free, and when I moved out he stopped paying his share of the utilities, But Host has graduated and has been offered a job in Australia and he's moving out. Grimy still refuses to leave the house, so Hosts parents have to get the Authorities involved to make him go, suddenly he leaves but he still cries and sulks like somehow hes a victim in all this. Host grows in confidence and finally breaks ties with all the free loading *friends* he had when he was in high school. Host got married about 3 years ago. I was at the wedding, Grimy wasn't invited.
Part of me is disappointed that LG is not also dressed as a cowboy for the Deadlands portion. The other part knows how pricey an outfit like that can be. The hat alone….!
So you mean to tell me that Grimey held such a petty grudge against OP over differing opinions of nerd culture that he basically tried to repeatedlt bully him out of the game group and then proceeded to throw fit after fit of not getting his way? And he also had issues with the Host’s wife helping improve Host’s lifestyle and then tried to gaslight him into divorcing said wife? Yeah, he was a toxic person, and I’m glad OP and the rest of the group no longer played with him. Especially after it’s implied he had OP’s Dark Heresy character sexually assaulted and subjected to other unpleasantness just to try to get OP to quit the group. Odds are, Grimey would have tried to kick OP out of the group after that session if the campaign didn’t fall apart after that. I’m also genuinely surprised Grimey didn’t outright talk to Host and try to convince him to kick OP since they were playing at Host’s house and it seemed that Host would reasonably have the final say in all of this. But I’m glad he either didn’t or Host never agreed to it.
Rolling for every lie in a deception check is insane. "I'm **roll successful** here **roll successful** to **roll successful** look **roll successful** at **roll successful** your **roll failed** FUCK!"
The hypocrisy from the deadlands campaign would've been the red flag to break me: blatant metagaming from his first interaction with anyone, and accuses someone of the same the second they don't play the part he premeditated for them.
Well it was a red flag to him. But Grimey was manipulating HOST to an excessive degree. What use is it to you that you can see the red flag when the friend you want to keep playing with doesn't see it and you can't convince him either?
Literally just started playing DnD and have been terrified of becoming "that guy" just from being a dunce socially and picking paladin as my first class. I got nothing to worry about after this.
Larry and I got a deal where I get to take some of the cringe from the back of the hoard. He just asks for me to say he is proud of him in exchange, he doesn’t seem to get a lot of affirmation at his workplace.
Im all for dark and heinous themes in story telling, like in Berserk for example. But when you are playing an RPG campaign with other people you dont just throw it on people like that, or use it as a form of punishment. And you definitely check with the party to make sure that something like that is ok... Thats just wrong and disgusting behavior
Grimey is a special problem player because I have never heard of any other problem player get so frustrated that they unintentionally start harming themselves by slamming on something so hard their hands are swollen... He really is on the next level of god awful player
I also have a very adversarial DM. Dude gets butthurt when we bulldoze his NPCs in a fight, despite knowingly giving us an overpowered point buy, legendary weapons, and being high level adventurers. He then tends to overcompensate with encounters that are even more difficult than what we could conceivably handle with our party composition, so he occasionally has to deus ex machine a way for the party to survive some ridiculous situation. Finally on the last leg of our campaign to fight the BBEG, and we’re ploughing through low CR fodder. I also FINALLY get to use an aspect of one of my feats that I’ve been anticipating for over a year, but he got angry that “he can’t do anything against me” because of it, and I’m just thinking, “well yea, not with CR 1/4 enemies against a high level adventurer in epic armor.” He also CANNOT hide the glee on his face when he gets to use some debilitating or unavoidable ability or spell against the party, nor can he hide the pouting when we defeat it/nullify it.
While everybody had the choice to leave the group but didn't is a good thing IMO. If grimey was able to drive everybody else away it would have strengthened the "bond" with host even more, proving that he was all he's going to have.
I don’t play DnD but I still watch these videos. That being said, all of these games sounded like they could be fun. Too bad one person ruined it each time. What was his beef with OP?
He had no reason for beef that any sane person would have. He probably is just a really toxic person who latched onto Host, and sees every relationship host has outside of him self as a threat.

Too bad the choas gods make me hate 40k but you know what them iron warriors did right? Sure 40k is trying to clean itself up but it like "there" in slapanest dominion.
OP explained why. They just liked everyone else and expected Grimey would be less intolerable as a player. After finding that was wrong, they needed to be convinced to join the campaign with a GM who wouldn't accept Grimey's garbage.
@ I didn’t read the gaunts ghosts series, I know there was a lot of debauchery in the slannesh followers, but I don’t remember reading any SA stuff. Even if there was having a player character SAed and going into enough detail that a feeler player never returned is crazy.
I’m curios as to what grimey did to op during the interrogation I think I have a idea I definitely know SA is in it cuz of course someone like grimey would use SA to torture a player but I know there’s more
tbf the SA would be fitting for 40k. However that's still not the kind of thing you spring on your players... It's also the kind of thing that will get those particular PDF members or thugs or whatever (there's not much difference) shot for slaaneshi flavored heresy.
This first part, I do have to wonder if the character was designed to be MC-ish? "Everyone was this, so I was that". I could see some fault of the OP there, but Im only at 2:40. Just "there're all physical damage, so I wasnt that" (ok, makes sense for balance), "theyre all prisoners so I was born on the prison planet" (ok, if youre joining mid-campaign, thats one way to already be in the setting...other than being a fellow inmate), "they were all male characters, so I made a female one" (....ok, so other than your possibly being a female yourself, why is that important to the campaign if youre not trying to set yourself apart?) Edit: not "physical damage"-- "combat-heavy". Was playing Divinity: OS 2 before this, so my brain was in that system of mechanics (not very well, mind you; this game feels the difficulty of BG1 without the benefit of the D&D formula to help you know what you need) And, making a female character wasnt the problem--it was phrasing it in a way that made it seem like the only reason (he?) made the female character was because everyone else was male. Its just a weird clarification to include, imo, that might have bearing on the rest of the story if the problem guy, in this case, was the DM and saw some deliberate upsetting of his campaign. Second edit: I've definitely been "HOST" a lot. I did a lot to make people happy, only to learn they weren't my friends. Tragic is a great word for that. My best friend of ten years started pulling away from me when I started getting some self-confidence. I still get plagued with thoughts thats I did something wrong.
I've been annoyed at my players, never to the point I had them SAed in detail and then tried to pat myself on the back for it. I don't know how much Cosby is in your games, but for me it's like a zero.
Also, just to point out, that game was being set in the Game of Thrones universe, a very dark midevil fantasy setting with little to no magic, where time to travel is often a very major concern as just for example, traveling from Winterfell to Kings Landing can take up to a month by itself in large groups, and overall, death is very cheap in this setting. So, knowing that, having a Sargent take out his weapon unprovoked to then attack a Baron's Maester? Which if I remember right, is essentially a counselor to the leader and is often the one in charge of handling many of the day-to-day affairs, would be grounds for IMMEDIATE execution of that individual. Realistically, that character should have been carted away to the dungeons with the prospect of being executed for committing treason, or at best, being forced to take the Black and serve the remainder of his days at the Wall in Exile. Either way that PC should have been unplayable and he should have been asked to reroll, but then again, I can understand that Bro probably didn't want to just make him lose his character on the first session, let alone potentially have to read another ten-page backstory... so I can understand letting it slide, maybe the Baron was a lot more of a "hey, tempers can flair, egos can be bruised, just don't do it again," kind of person.
@@kiearawagner7901 I'm a writer, and there's nothing I love more than exploring new characters in a real-time setting like D&D. But man... I'm gonna give the DM a summary of my character, not several thousand words. It might be a bullet list or something -- stick to the actual details, y'know? I want the DM to focus on running the game, not fawning over my creative writing hobby.
Thats a cool character, reminds me of quequi.. the canabel from a book i call cytations and ships, couse there wasnt no moby dick and ahab was just gruppy not evil
that kind of stunned me too. Good for him! Though what is curious is that even his wife couldn't make him end his friendship with Grimey, only BRO managed to put Grimey in situations where he would make such a fool of himself that even HOST started to get alienated from him with time. BRO was a real bro ngl he did a huge service to Host!
At the first story the... NSFW... thing... Well in 40k there is Slaanesh, God of drugs, wh*res and degenanrates... but that being said, it does not justify to have it in a game. I know that when I am a DM and there are horriable scenes like SA, torture, self-harm, and horrific descriptiona, I first tell the party before we enter that scene: "Heya guys, the gollowing scene might be increadible brutal and may be very morbid and horrfying, do you want to skip it?" I am not saying that I justify nor do I like it, the reasoning behind the brutality is to make the antagonists seems more evil and give more motivation for the players to fight against them Grimey didn't even asked nor cared and moreover did so out of spite for some random player
Honestly, if the healthy snacks includes stuff like carrots? I'd be like "okay these are mine now" lol. Love carrots. But seriously, if this story is real I geuinaly hope Grimey has improved as a person. I know its easy to make fun of these people at their worst, but I do hope that he realized his errors and actively tried improving upon them, especially since this story is around three or four years old (if not older since it is one of the more well known horror stories out there.)
A part of me feels bad for grimey. Dont get me wrong the guy was a massive dick but for the sound of things it looks like he is sinking straight to rock bottom and how his actions seem to be mostly fuled by inmaturity
@@milimachathestrange I seen stranger 😂 It mostly due to group dynamics, the one in particular where no one wants to cause a fuss because everyone blames them for it over the issue maker. Like personal one, despite people saying I wasnt "good" at playing Spy in a modded server, the people tried to throw me out because i killed them too good😂 Or my family cant understand why i dont like tamales so i say "eat chicken + ice cream" and they want to die. Lack of Backbone + no one wants to "fight for their rights" + them all being losers to some degree = believeable.
Idk about that. Obviously he liked Bro and Host and dropping out he would have had to find completely new friends. The way they handled it by switching DM until finding out BRO was THE perfect fit to not just make the campaign shut down Grimeys bs he actually managed to alienate Grimey from Host and ending their narcissistic friendship all together essentially freeing Host from Grimey all together. Now that is truly masterful. (and a MASSIVE service to HOST) Getting out of a toxic narcissistic friendship like that isn't all that easy and the fact that BRO managed to basically dismantle it and them still playing together but without Grimey is the best possible ending this could have had. Sure standing up and walking out and finding new mates to play with is the easy way out. Who is to say that its the BEST way out? They kept their friendships and cut out the cancer. How is that not a W? Also he mentioned frequently that they had alot of fun seing Grimey get angry not having his way so its not like they only had miserable times when Grimey was still involved. In a way Grimey ended up being the laughing stock and indeed a source of amusement/entertainment for them before bullying him out completely.

Just "there're all physical damage, so I wasnt that" (ok, makes sense for balance), "theyre all prisoners so I was born on the prison planet" (ok, if youre joining mid-campaign, thats one way to already be in the setting...other than being a fellow inmate), "they were all male characters, so I made a female one" (....ok, so other than your possibly being a female yourself, why is that important to the campaign if youre not trying to set yourself apart?)
Edit: not "physical damage"-- "combat-heavy". Was playing Divinity: OS 2 before this, so my brain was in that system of mechanics (not very well, mind you; this game feels the difficulty of BG1 without the benefit of the D&D formula to help you know what you need)
And, making a female character wasnt the problem--it was phrasing it in a way that made it seem like the only reason (he?) made the female character was because everyone else was male.
So, I don't mean to be rude or mean. But I think self-reflecting is required if you side with grimey instead of OP. Grimey was honestly at fault here.
I've been annoyed at my players, never to the point I had them SAed in detail and then tried to pat myself on the back for it. I don't know how much Cosby is in your games, but for me it's like a zero.
Duuude... that power setup in campaign 3. You don't get to be the BBEG in Session 1. Sorry, not sorry.
I'd forgotten Host got married in this one. Sweet twist.
that kind of stunned me too. Good for him! Though what is curious is that even his wife couldn't make him end his friendship with Grimey, only BRO managed to put Grimey in situations where he would make such a fool of himself that even HOST started to get alienated from him with time. BRO was a real bro ngl he did a huge service to Host!
Horrible twist. 😂
It sucks when people who are fun to play with are friends with someone who is absolute scum.
At the first story the... NSFW... thing...
Well in 40k there is Slaanesh, God of drugs, wh*res and degenanrates... but that being said, it does not justify to have it in a game.
I know that when I am a DM and there are horriable scenes like SA, torture, self-harm, and horrific descriptiona, I first tell the party before we enter that scene: "Heya guys, the gollowing scene might be increadible brutal and may be very morbid and horrfying, do you want to skip it?"
I am not saying that I justify nor do I like it, the reasoning behind the brutality is to make the antagonists seems more evil and give more motivation for the players to fight against them
Grimey didn't even asked nor cared and moreover did so out of spite for some random player
Seriously, what was his problem with OP? Was he close to the female player and Grimey got jealous?
12:34 you stop at periods. You pause at commas
Hello goblin man
Unhealthy snacks? Oh no, the horror.
When ever a party includes carrot sticks, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes and such fodder, you know you're in for a bad bad time.
A part of me feels bad for grimey. Dont get me wrong the guy was a massive dick but for the sound of things it looks like he is sinking straight to rock bottom and how his actions seem to be mostly fuled by inmaturity
He has no one else to blame but himself even his job look at the reviews he was probably killing that business with his BS.
Yemrig perfectly engineered his own failure, dude couldnt let people pick out comics. 😂
Offtopic but everytime grimey is mentioned my mind pictures him as boogie2988.
I would have left after session one of this nonsense. Don't play with that guy.
My DM consistently meta games and it makes me want to quit the campaign.
Just metagame him and show where the coffin leads irl /s
It sad but tell him to stop being a nerd, if he keeps it up then you got to go
What kind of person puts "adult assult" in a DandD campaign? I get it, gritty, dystopian setting, but bro thats too far
There is no way this story is true
I have seen people like that, so it most likely true.
Doe the guy getting a gf is fake. 😂
Imagine getting a girl 😮
@Subject_Keter there is no way a human being can act like this and several adults continue sitting in the room my mind cannot comprehend it.
@@milimachathestrange I seen stranger 😂
It mostly due to group dynamics, the one in particular where no one wants to cause a fuss because everyone blames them for it over the issue maker.
Like personal one, despite people saying I wasnt "good" at playing Spy in a modded server, the people tried to throw me out because i killed them too good😂
Or my family cant understand why i dont like tamales so i say "eat chicken + ice cream" and they want to die.
Lack of Backbone + no one wants to "fight for their rights" + them all being losers to some degree = believeable.
It's not "Master", it's "Maester"
Different pronunciation
average warhammer campaign
Bro you NEED to learn how to pronounce frustrating
Appreciate the feedback, I do feel like I say it a bit weird and will be more conscious of it.
@lootgoblinmarketplace It's also Maester...May Stir...Maester. love the vids though man, seriously entertaining
Nah its My ster
@@bartoniuskrunk2366 master isnt pronounced like that
@cyanchaos4490 the audiobooks flip flop it.
Nah. Returning to the table after that first incident, OP loses all sympathy from me going forward.
Same.
They don't need it. The trash took itself out in the end
Me personally, Grimy would be stuck in a toilet abd that a fact. 😂
BRO ruining Grimey's in-game career was worth it.
dude, ditch the animated goblin. it's creepy
tf? His channel is literally called Loot Goblin Marketplace. What should he replace it with? A talking Marketstand? -_o
How is it creepy? I'm not mad, in confused
I like the goblin over a Crab and Jacob from xp to lvl 3 face.
Doe i keep thinking he appose to be a warcraft goblin lol
