Okey. That is cool But I have one question: Why do we need these relays which have delay spefication? Thank you.

My wall thermostat is supposed to have "A/C protection". When we get a very fast power outage (split second) my compressor immediately sounds horrible trying to restart. I shut sown the system for a few minutes and then restart. Would a Delay on break relay solve this? Thanks!

Explations are still confusing. Let me try to get it straight. “Delay on make,” input comes hot, delay, output comes hot (as long as input stays hot); output turns off as soon as input turns off. “Delay on break,” input comes hot, same time output comes hot; input turns off, output stays hot for delayed time, output turns off. What would we call a relay that turns output hot as soon as input is hot, but output turns off after delayed time even when input stays hot. Sheesh!

Delay on Make = when you put thermostats in cool mode it waits 3-5min to start
Delay on break= when you put thermostat in cool mode in comes on right away but if power is disrupted even for 0.5 seconds the delay on break activates and does not allow compressor to come on until 3-5 min
