It's a concentration of a specific people in a camp, hence "concentration camp".
No it's where you concentrate a subsection of the population together so they can't hurt innocent people. Communists were put away in Europe while they fought the USSR and Japanese people were concentrated in the USA while they fought imperial Japan.
Why do you think there were swimming pools and orchestras in the European camps?

Its also kinda coddling and will not solve the issue because the biggest issue for why people are obese is the infrastructure and people not having enough time in the day to cook and walk.

As a woman who is struggling with weight gain due to hypothyroid issues, I can tell you that it's not all laziness or gluttony. It would be very unfair to be placed in a "camp" when it wouldn't even help. What a tool.
Your right it isn't. It's literally our food. I was told with my hypothyroidism I couldn't lose the weight. I decided to find a doctor who said I could and how... I did and that doctor basically told me to stop eating 99% of the food in grocery stores and eat as much of a limited food list that was homemade and I was absolutely flabbergasted that even so called foods that were healthy were off the list. But my hypothyroidism improved a lot of health problems and I finally did watch the weight fall off so I firmly believe that it's the food the FDA permits in our stores that are banned in many other countries.
I can't imagine sending obese people to concentration camps when they need more than a diet to change. They need to get away from 99% of the foods here and start making their own meals from scratch. The concentration camps I couldn't trust to do a safe job at this because most weight loss companies actually are motivated to help people lose weight of they will eventually gain it back because most of their money is made off of repeat customers. So there diets are designed to force the body lose weight unnaturally even if they might say it is natural and then gain that weight back. Fast. I have not gain my weight back even with later having children and I firmly believe it's because the doctor told me how to avoid health foods with the hidden fattening ingredients.
@@lovetobe6118 do you understand the function of the thyroid? Just wondering. My dog gained a ton of weight very quickly without eating much. He’s on meds now and he lost more than 10 lbs in a month. My dog certainly isn’t eating fast food. He eats healthier than any of the humans in my house.
@@MsAubrey do you lack reading comprehension skills or are you just quick to speak and slow to listen because you think your knowledge is superior to others? Lovetobe6118 spoke very clearly and you wouldn't need to ask that question if you were caring to know what they had to say.

Hormone production cannot be cured, but it CAN be treated with meds.
I so feel you on that. Struggled myself too and there’s no way to control the weight gain sometimes but kelp pills have really helped me get iodine up if there’s a way your doctor would let you help your thyroid out. I wish you the best in healing ❤

And this reality is self-evident: we wouldn't have thousands of different restaurants if people weren't patronizing them for virtually every meal, and relying on restaurants necessarily jacks up costs because you are always paying for labor, distribution, marketing costs, etc.
Agree! It's unbelievable how expensive it is

Stuff to make tacos at home----35$
Taco Bell----20$
@@wholetyouinhere It's definitely not more to eat healthy but the biggest reason we have so many restaurants is bc ppl are living out their dreams, trying to be self sufficient and provide for their family or start a legacy. Compassion & encouragement is one thing but people who look healthy ALSO have health issues like diabetes and heart disease!! The "healthiest" & most active couple I know BOTH had heart attacks! Their daughter had blood clots in her lungs!! Also lived health & exercised!

I didn’t start losing weight until I had removed every bullying, shaming, nasty person from my life (aka my family). I started loving myself in the absence of their hate. 43kg (95 pounds) down in 20 months. I quit smoking because I wasn’t stressed all the time. Got an amazing job. And the people who are ALLOWED in my life now must contribute to my peace and happiness…..not destroy it. Shaming and bullying doesn’t work. For 35 years it didn’t work. Love and self respect is what has worked.
Congratulations! That's awesome.
Nahh, you’re definitely lying. If shame and family pressure didn’t work for you, then you definitely ended up more fatty. Stop lying just because we cannot prove it
Mad respect
It's different for everyone. Some people actually take comments from other people as motivation to strive harder (this isn't the same thing as constant shaming).
Bullshit. You didn’t love yourself for being 100lbs heavier. You hated yourself and wanted to be better. Cut the crap
Thats guy was speaking facts
People here think he misunderstood "Concentration camps" Nah, he meant what he said. Only difference is in his camp, you have an option to get out alive.
The reality is that the corn lobby has us all eating HFCS that is dumped in to nearly every packaged food at the grocery store. The food in the US is disgusting and that needs to change ASAP. The government has us addicted to sugar.
The reality is that High-Fructose Corn Syrup was once deemed a healthier alternative to proper sugar. I remember reading about fructose as a healthy sugar in the 1990 New Book of Knowledge.
The diet activists are actually more annoyed that the government is compromising, much the way that John Kellogg was annoyed when his brother added sugar to John's corn flakes to make them more marketable. A nutritional purist like John Kellogg considered Kellogg's cereal to be missing the point, and since then food producers have been in an eternal tug of war with John Kellogg's ideological descendants who populate agencies like the FDA.

This guy is insane, then again he makes his money shaming women, so that's not shocking.
What if people are fat by genetics and that is how their body works? You can't fat shame people who can't help it. I agree with other people though saying that the FDA needs to be investigated for what they put food. And of course healthy food needs to be made cheaper so other people can afford it.
Being UNHEALTHY is unacceptable. Some people may be fat but they are actually healthy
Myron is truly one of the most insufferable people out there
The fact that someone can sit there with a straight face talking about putting people in concentration camps (while obviously having no idea what the significance of them are) is disgusting.
If that dude was president and he tried that he'd be in a world of hurt real fast. At least in America
So many people out there think they know everything but they don't have any idea 😢😢
I'm a fat person. I laugh at "fat" jokes. But shaming people is not the solution. Change ultimately comes from the inside. If you change the inside then the outside will reflect that change. Changing the outside first doesn't really work.
My pastor uses the following illustration. Take a glass of water. Put a red filter in front of it. The water looks red but only from that angle. The water is still clear. Now put some red food coloring in the water. No need for a filter because the water was changed from the inside. It's actually red and no longer clear.

How do you discourage obesity without shaming people? It isn't possible at all, it's always going to be considering shaming. Change comes when society stops coddling people who are making stupid choices.

Its UNHEALTHY and Not GOOD for the Obese Person. So how is it SHAMING to tell them this and point out how Bad it is for them?
I'm fat and use to be fatter. I crack fat jokes all the time. Why? Because I know I'm fat but at least I dropped 60lbs and ganged muscle thanks to diet change and switching jobs. Retail made me fat. Warehouse work helped me drop belt sizes.
If he’s going after “burdens on the healthcare system” he’d have to go after smokers, drinkers, people with mental illness, old people, babies, and pretty much anyone who isn’t a healthy, young adult.
Stupid argument.. the only non-modifiable factors you’ve mentioned right now were age (geriatric and pediatrics, including neonatal), and mental illness (with exception to substance abuse).. we’re all responsible for our own actions. It shouldn’t be the taxpayers responsibility to pay others who are clearly making poor decisions (burden)
Also illegal immigrants that are here sucking on the govt teat. He didn't mention them
Burden on the healthcare system because of their bad habits, so you're right about including smokers and drinkers. The message he is trying to portray is that people should be held responsible for their own actions and the rest of us should not pay for their misbehavior and that is absolutely correct.

It's kind of heartbreaking when you watch people you love get more and more sick from their lifestyle until they can no longer walk and they start losing fingers and toes and hands and then they start having seizures and falling and breaking bones
The reality is being fat isn't diminished by shaming or making fun. It's a layered condition. Genetics, medication for other conditions, stress, mental health, access to healthy food, ability to exercise, family culture- these all have influence. Add to that anorexia and bulimia are every bit as deadly as obesity, fat isn't the only problem.

As a person with a thyroid disorder who has dieted since age five, only eats once a day on eating days and fasts 3 days a week. I can assure you I have NEVER been coddled. I work harder to maintain my health in a single day than most people have worked their entire lives.
Ur lying! A thyroid disorder doesn't make people obese. Eating does that. Yes, you can gain some weight, but you can also manage it by what you eat. My mom has that and she got in the gym and ate healthy and has maintained an healthy weight for over 15 years
@damionm944 you are uneducated. I love how you assume that my condition affects everyone the same way. Do you think cancer affects everyone the same? No. I am not fat now. But only because I have to take extreme measures to ensure my weight doesn't go sky high. I used to take ballet six nights a week, and my classes would last 6 to 5 hours a night. I was on an extremely low calorie vegetable based diet and fasted back then the way I do now. I was overweight. And nothing I did helped. At the time I was also training and riding horses competitively and worked on a farm all day. My body was always moving. I started going to the gym after I ended my 13 years of ballet. I stayed fat until I discovered Atkins. When I stopped eating carbs, the weight fell off. Some years later, I got married, and I had 4 pregnancies back to back. My thyroid disorder caused me to miscarry two precious babies that I will always miss. We adjusted my medication after that, I had two healthy children after that, but then my thyroid levels plummeted, and I packed on a ton of weight overnight while STILL on a diet! And going to the gym. It's come off now, now that I'm doing carnivore. An even more miserable deit. So no, J off, you are wrong. Glad your mom has had a better time of it though. Glad you didn't turn five and start gaining weight out of nowhere with no explanation for years. Glad you didn't have to be the fat kid growing up, Glad you didn't have to be the fat teen in ballet. Eating healthy is much more expensive than the crap food sold in supermarkets. That is why so many people in Walmarts are on those electric scooters.
I hear this a lot, that poor people can't afford the food. But have you actually tested this theory at the grocery store? I have. A half pound of ground beef, a half pound of chicken breast, a pound of frozen vegetables, 2 cheap eggs, and coffee costs about $8. That's an entire day's worth of very healthy food and it costs less than ONE combo meal at McDs.
@@fazdoll i just see rampant big people and am a consumer myself. Chips, hotdogs, processed food is cheap. Some is lack of awareness on consumers part. Up til recently fast food was cheap. I think of red meat is very expensive and chicken. I think food in general is up 30-40% over 4 years now. Hamburger is quite unhealthy too and food is cheapering depending on where you live. I like the idea of having going away to get healthy. Like the Biggest Loser but that's not a concentration camp
Everyone has the right to make horrible decisions, and the constitution protects those rights
Okay i get him but this is a bit too extreme. Id say to start with we gotta fix the food in the US. Most of it is processed, unhealthy and fast food is so easily available. School lunches as far as I've seen (on tv cz i don't live in the US) seem so unhealthy. Make fresh food easily accessible to people and fast food expensive. 🤷🏻♀️
I'll agree with most of what you say, but school lunches aren't anything like what you see on TV. At least at my kids' schools (we've experienced school for them in two separate states now) they have fresh fruit and vegetables at every lunch as required by law. And the nutrition is pretty well balanced.
Now, you can't force a kid to eat a vegetable, but that's another story. 😂
I WISH I had access to the balanced meals my kids get at school. It would cost far too much to eat like that every day.
Michelle Obama worked to improve the quality of school lunches, and she was mocked and ridiculed for it.
@evilsharkey8954
I remember her getting mocked for more extreme positions like wanting to outlaw fast food, not for the school lunch thing.
But if you listen to enough people then you'll find them saying just about anything. Myron is proof.
@@llareia I heard plenty of mocking for the healthy school lunches, mostly politicians whining that she made healthy food choices and childhood fitness her goals and not fixing every problem in the world that they said was more important yet did nothing to fix, themselves.

No, I don't support forcing health on anyone. I'm against mask/vaccine "mandates" and likewise against fat concentration camps. I'm also against "incentivizing" people through policies. What I do support is letting people say what they really think and let other people react accordingly.

The problem is with the corporations that produce the “food” and the government that won’t label it clearly.
"Won't label it clearly" The ingredients are literally LISTED ON THE PACKAGE. It tells you word for word what is in it. It's up to you to research it and find out what the ingredients can do to your body.
It's not the food is the problem
It's the eating habit of people
You can choose to be healthy in many ways and you can choose to be obese in many ways too....
It's also way cheaper in general to eat junk food than to eat healthily. Go figure.
Other countries would never allow some of the food we allow here. But that's why reading labels and not buying lousy food is essential.
They don’t force you to eat it though
I don't think this dude understands what a 'concentration camp' is. It's not for people to gather so they can concentrate on a mutual problem. 😱

That's right. You don't think Myron understands what a concentration camp is, but he does. If anyone uses a word or phrase, even if he or she meant something else, that's not the audience's fault nor problem. It's the speaker's fault & problem. If you use a word or phrase, but you don't know the definition of that word or phrase, you're ignorant.
That's litteraly what it means. It's used largely to refer about the concentration camps in nazi Germany, but it doesn't mean it's the only way to use the term. It's just stupid.
People forget that there were concentration camps for the Japanese doing World War II.
They called them “internment camps”. They weren’t murderous like the Nazi concentration camps, but they were still a gross injustice that should never have happened.
As a former 390 lb individual who lost almost 200 lbs, I agree with Myron. I would have signed up to be in the camp he described.
That would be voluntary. Rounding people up, disrupting their entire lives, and forcing them to follow a strict regimen is cruel and unconstitutional.
Besides, most people who go through extreme diet and exercise programs to lose weight gain it all back after the program has ended.
Shaming people can actually make the problem worse. Case in point a parent shames the child and he hides food.
Incentives work better.
The mental health effects as well. The motivation can go right out the window for many.
People are soft this days
Last time I went to the ER, there were an awful lot of Sports injuries. These account for a lot of the health care issue too!

If you want to change something about yourself, you need a healthy mindset. However, if everyone around you hates you, it's difficult to develop that mindset because it requires empathy and understanding to help someone grow. This applies to people struggling with weight, depression, or homelessness. The issue with the man in the video is that he completely lacks emotional intelligence.
