I really appreciate the time you took for this. I'm not much into mods and have yet to incorporate any, but far less those mods that change the game's core identity, or effect progress by making "cheating" easy. If a mod subtilty enhances appearances, or improve a mechanic (like upgrading that Dollar Store flashlight) I'm okay with that. Thanks!
@@MattttMan I don't know a lot about the unofficial patch. I've been using the community patch since it originally released. I know it's from the same team that's developed community patches for the previous Bethesda games. They've done a really good job at keeping it up to date, and I've had no issues that I can tell.
@Starfield_Eclipse it's a game changer for ship building. Although I have heard some chatter about CC or the Bethesda mod manager causing problems. I've been using it for months but a yter had real problems with it and the only difference was he was using CC. I know he got it working but I don't know if he figured out what was wrong. I better check.
@@baxter2908 I did some research and I am going to pick these up. I will probably do a separate video on them, I think they are in the spirit of Starfield but might be a little too much for the purist to accept. Maybe pitch it as an extension of the base game.
I haven't turned on mods yet cause I wanna get all the Achievements first. But I feel Bethesda should allow some modders to allow achievements. I bought Photomode frames and they don't work without turning off the Achievements :(
There is an achievement friendly symbol that they use to show the ones that don't disable achievements. I think BGS has to review the mod first to ensure that it doesn't affect gameplay before it gets the achievement friendly flag.
A mod you should try is SKK followers and Stalkers, mainly for the stalkers chance. put Stalkers on random chances and max distance. Together with darker nights and no enemy compass, this mod has given me the best gaming experience I ever had. The world feels alive and random and the nights are terrifying. Must have
This is great. I want to keep the Starfield theme while adding mods to extend my Starfield experience. Games start with the theme music and scenery that gets you into the game b4 the game starts. No Star Wars or other game intro music, no mods additions for me.
Thank you for taking my recommendation. Likewise, I've decided to choose Darker Nights over Pitch Black Nights. I have over 30 mods; all lore-friendly. Cheers
Thanks for the showcase. I need that flashlight even without darker nights, cuz I'm old. Every single Bethesda game has needed some version of improved follower AI. I will check on the Ship parts unlocked. I agree that having to go to specific star yards is not a fun addition of gameplay. But I wonder if it also does level unlocks, because that would be more cheaty. These and the ability to control door and ladder placement are going to get me to mod this game. Probably wait a bit more to let the dust settle and get more input from the volunteer testers. Thanks for all you do.
@@tassey definitely start slow and maybe drop a hard save before getting crazy with mods. I have seen several people break their game with conflicting mods but none of this list is conflicting as i had them all running at the same time.
@@Starfield_Eclipse Oh I have used mods in older games, but when you get a new game that is still being updated frequently, mods can get problematic. So I stay cautious. And save.
A lot of those mods are around yes, but it sounds like you have not dug deep enough. Mods come in all flavors. Personally, I am very careful to make sure the mods I create fit with the lore. Sometimes researching the lore for years, for example with Conan Exiles I helped open a lore research archive for modders.

The Improved Follower Behaviour mod is the best thing I've added to Starfield so far.
Must have mod = community patch
What does it do?
@@MattttMan over 440 bug fixes from about 35+ people. It's a community mod full of fixes that Bethesda hasn't included yet.

Nope, it's not functional

so many people wanted realistic followers so bethesda does and people get mad cuz there too angry all the time. like cmon r people ever happy?
It's like ordering pizza for a group of people. You're never going to make everyone happy but mods allows everyone to order their own pizza.
Dear Lord man you got to get a pop filter you're killing my ears
Agreed, I am ordering a new microphone in general. Was waiting till I hit 500 subscribers but it's close enough.
Thanks for the coverage on these mods. I will definitely be checking some of these out.
Keep up the good work!
Two must have game enhancing mods are DarkStar Astrodynamics and DarkStar Manufacturing.
The mod developer also has a discord.
I have been eyeing them up, is space combat still challenging with them?
@Starfield_Eclipse
Very much so. Plus you get a new awesome DarkStar ship and new weapons.

Verne VII-a
I'd love to see a video of your load order. I can't get the curvy outfits to not crash my game.

Problems with darker nights it leaves the indoors too dark for my particular taste. Hard to see inside your own starship.
