- Greetings Choo Choo Tube, A lovely little treat here in a secret location on the fylde coast. You are welcome to take a atmospheric trip to explore forgotten decaying vintage blackpool trams from various eras. Many of these trams I have ridden in various times of my life, from a small kid to my now adult size. What a trip down memory lane. A perfect watch for the urban explorer, tram spotter or blackpool history fanatic!
Enjoy! and please subscribe and comment. cheers.

I'm Johnny Heyes and used to love coming to Blackpool especially on a rainy day, where I would swim in the Derby baths in the morning, then ride an old tram single and double deck to the Pleasure Beach for stockingfeet at the Fun House, then back into town by old tram.
ahhh the good old funhouse! vintage bpool! Thanks for watching!
Your videos are both informative and entertaining. Keep up the excellent work!
Thankkkkks
thank you mate!
Lived at Vermont Grove in Cleveleys during my time in the UK in 84-85 from Australia. Loved the trams, loved the Golden Eagle pub, the Chippy (The Blue Anchor I think) on Anchorsholme Lane, loved going into town and visiting Tower Models, getting a feed at the Coronation Cafe and heading down to Bloomfield Road to watch the Seasiders play (Coldest I've ever been anywhere in my life). Lived there through the winter before three months traveling Europe. Came back to find the population and quadrupled and the trams had grown an extra storey. Loved the place. I wonder how much of that stuff is still there.
not much has changed since! you still in oz?
Beautiful place for shotting 🤠🖐️🖐️🖐️
It sure is! im not sure its all still there now, think its all been moved.
Stored on a private site owned by Associated British ports. exported to San Francisco - very few, Many heritage trams still ply up and down the prom. These are owned by the now defunct Fleetwood Heritage Leisure Trust
ta!
Oh my goodness, these trams need saving and restoring! This is so sad to see :(
Maybe behind the scenes they have plans to get these restored? who knows!
I keep coming back to this video. ❤
glad you lie it!
Beautiful. Quite a special mood to this one!
music really ices this mofo again. thanks man, from the bottom of my dark heart. x
Having been an engineer and working on those trams all I remember was digging through the guts of 637 looking for parts to salvage to try and keep the other trams working, as the company was notoriously stingy about spending money for new parts :/
stingy gits!
Yes Balloon car 710 was the tram which "killed" Alan Bradley. It was also sent over to Crich in 1985 to replace trams which the museum hadlent to Blackpool for the tramway Centenary in 1985. It is an absolute disgrace that these trams have just been left to rot, without any sort of cover.
I couldn't care less if the tram was 700 701 702 703 704 707 708 709 711 712 713 714 715 716 717 718 719 720 721 722 723 724 725 or 726. 705 was withdrawn after an accident with 706 that became an open top.
i remember that corrie episode well.
as of THE Date i watch this video 710 has been rescued in feb 2023 and is back at rigby road ua-cam.com/video/05PZdlNUrJc/v-deo.html
Yeah I've been on them a while ago on the dock's it's a real shame 😢
apparently there are only 3 left? now?
Hi Alan here got some great news about that tram Blackpool heritage want it back so it looks like that tram is going to be put back in service once it's had the restoration work done as there had a fund me to have it restored and have it running once again
Hi alan, thanks for this info, finally some good news about these trams! thats great news! Also, i have just uploaded a new explore, Here is a fantastic urban explore of the Lost World War 2 pillbox of cayton bay, uk, soon to drop off a cliff due to coastal erosion, ww2 wartime architecture! An amazing rare hilltop fortress! Well worth checking out.

Tram 710 is back at tramtown for some restoration for the museum
Very good videos
Thanks marko! really appreciate it mate! i have subbed to your channel too, love your explores bud.
@@streetroguephotography thank you very man
Infact the double decker tram is the same numbered tram that was used to run over alan bradley in coronation st.
OH! is it really? that's some great info, cheers! punished for running over bradley! that was about right then! cheers!
wow this brings back soo many memories of visiting Blackpool as a kid/teen. Recognise the design immediately, even recognise quite a few of the adverts. I remember when the tram depot used to be on Rigby Rd. I believe that's been moved to the South Shor?. The new trams are all very modern and it no doubt makes economic sense, but they just don't have the character of the older trams.
100% spot on. The trams they have now are faster, but soless, i used to love the sound of the rusty tracks and the creaks and cracks. something super special about the old ones, i'm glad i got to do this explore before they disappear forever.
Ye there now at star gate but the heritage teams are still at rugby road along with the buses
You got to love trams, and trains, but trams. Beautiful! First Jethro Tull, now this, Blackpool delivers..
Hey Mats, sure! blackpool is a crazy, mad, dangerous, fun, photogenic, seeped with history location! Hows things your end?
@@streetroguephotography well, Blackpool, Bristol and Brighton is on our short list if you’re ever allowed to travel again. And Berlin, so apparently we have a thing for b-cities. But it would be fun to see if The Northern Soul is alive and well. At the moment we have a good old snow storm here in Stockholm so that’s that..
@@matsfrodin3546 Hey man, hit me up if you are ever my way, ill show you around! there is plenty of odd culture here for you to get lost in! you guys got snow now?!?!?!?
@@streetroguephotography Definately! No one gets lost like me. Yep! We call it aprilväder (April wheather) which means we have a few days of snow, then sunshine, then fog, then snow again and repeat until may. And you guys can go to the pub again I hear, cheers!
#n.e.w.urbexer , hey cool Video 👍💪💪
Cheers Sven! appreciate it mate! Whats you favourite thing to explore?
Hi loved woching just wondering if you ever videoed the trams back Barton road behind Asda

all cleared and gone now. The early birds catch the worms / trams. SR
Gloriously dark 😎😍
Super dreamy huh..................
@@streetroguephotography no. Dark. Not dreamy.
Best video yet Danny, great music too, really fits. The 16mm stuff way outshines the 85 though. I remember going to Blackpool on holiday with my grandparents when I was very young... Learning all the tram stop names, like my grandparents did in the 20's...
Cheerz dinny del toro! get a car rogue going, you wont regret it.
Great footage, took me back to when I was young going Blackpool on the trams with my family
Exactly, a trip down memory lane! really such a beautiful explore, a visit back in time. I love these sort of time capsules. something special about the past..........a time of optimism, where the future looked bright and everyone had hope. do we still feel the same in 2021? cheers for the support!
Brilliant video this brings back so much memories blackpool has always been my second home since I was I baby and I think I know where those trams are
Cheers troy, really appreciated. Thanks for the channel support! Yep, blackpool's like that! please consider subscribing as there will be ongoing blackpool adventures moving forward! Anything else you would like to see?

Hey Homo Erectus Streetrogue, check out 1960/70's headmaster of Stanley Primary school, Marton area. I read a booklet may be as long as three decades ago now, written in the seventies? His history of the Blackpool tram, at the time a pioneer of tram memorabilia and anecdotal memories, was commended by tram followers and Blackpool history buffs. From memory that's all the info, I can remember. It didn't go far. He was ahead of his time in collecting Blackpool history. Most people at the time wanted to make the new history!
Fossil erectus! hows that wirral son?
Is this a chap called Steve Palmer; who I think was a headmaster of a school and wrote loads of books about Blackpool trams?! I have a couple in my bookcase!
The big pink tram, didn't it have an ice cream parlour on board? I loved that tram as a kid.
im not sure i remember that as a kid, but now you mention it, yeah, it kinda does ring a bell.!
@@streetroguephotography Definitely mate, I remember boarding that tram at Central Pier to get home and it being a new tram at the time. Then I took sight of the ice cream parlour and bought an ice cream, which was amazing. It became my favourite vehicle of choice after that, shame to see it in such disrepair. RIP Mr Whippy Tram, you're sorely missed lol.
Good old days mate ❤️
Hi guys. Great vlog. No, its not the Balloon (double deck) tram that used to have an Ice cream parlour on board. That was tram no.719. I know this as I was involved in parts of its conversion. It had modern 'bus' type windows on the sides - this one has the old 1930s sash type ones still. Great photos. :-)
That silver one is now at rossall school getting transformed into a classroom
ahhhhhhhh..........good news.! cheers. have you seen it?

@@streetroguephotography i wouldn`t say i was good but i love taking pictures and that`s the main thing
I guess with these purple trams Blackpool dont feel the need so much to preserve every vintage tram or have parking space for them. But like the steam trains, & cities bringing them back, maybe every line will have its own preservation & restored trams society.
That would be great huh! lets hope!
These could be turned into tiny houses or campers so many possibilities to repurpose but still keep the look
i hope they are restored one day for sure. cheers for tuning in!

The Old trams better made than new ones today.I remember years ago in Malta they did away with Leyland Buses are replaced them with ARRIVA buses they started to give trouble after a short time Drivers didn't like the arriva buses
100% they are were built better! like everything in the past i suppose! everything feels so tacky and breakable now!
Great content mate, sweet location, keep up the good work. Cheers 👍🏻

Great video mate, nice little explore there. And awesome shots with the 📸
Glad you enjoyed. a great location! make the photos easier to take!
Another comment. These trams were not being used and were kept in Rigby road depot until there was no more space as the Blackpool council were buying too many old trams and restored them, these had to be shunted out of the depot and were put there.
massive shame, i believe they were bought privately with borrowed money, then the buyer disappeared.......
Nice work mate always love to hear your commentery sounds like the trams brought back many happy memories! Keep up the videos looking forward to your next one
cheers el toro! hows things your end?
Such beautiful colours on those buses. Great shots!

No secret that's Fleetwood docks we were last here with Johnny vegas for carry on glamping.
The black tram is the last tram that was in service with hand painted advertising.
It should be in a museum
defo should be in a museum!
The metro one in pink is the Tram 710 that killed Alan Bradley in Coronation Street .
sure is!
These look great Danny, I’ve got to find these mate. Loving your style on this, making me want to order a 16mm but I’m skint (as always) and really need a long lens first and keep thinking of going for a drone next year too.
The artwork and lettering really shows the age of these, no computer generated stuff here.
Hey Brian, the 16mm lens is really my favourite out of all the fuji lenses. the 85mm is also a great shortish telephoto lens i would recommend. i use the viltrox 85. Drone wise, what model were you thinking about getting?
@@streetroguephotography Drone would have to be one of the Mavic Minis, I know the first will be cheaper but it doesn’t have the Collision Avoidance and as it will be my first I think I’d be better with that. As for lenses I really don’t need a longer one like the 55-230 before anything, I’ve really missed not having a longer lens and I’m off to the Lakes in October too. Yes I know the 50-200 is better and in a perfect world I’d probably go for the the 70-300 but being unable to work it’s jut not possible. I probably know the answer already but are you going to shoot some of the Punks at Rebellion this year? Went with my friend in 2019 and not only did we get some great Street Portraits it was such a good laugh talking to them too, not one said no to us when we asked for a photo besides a couple asking us to buy them a beer, didn’t happen and still got the shot. Got a few things in the diary, Brazilica in Liverpool (19th July), Manchester Pride (28th August), could be a good year if all goes to plan and we don’t get anymore Lockdowns. Just need my Driving License back though but trying to get through on the phone is a joke.
Loving the mix of urbex with your work bro! Keep it up!
Thank you my man! appreciated your words! Let me know if there is anything you would like to see in the future. Ask and street rogue will try and get it done!
@@streetroguephotography Haha! No worries man. I love the feel of your stuff and you're a Fuji user so a win in my books 🤣!

Even if they couldn't keep them you would think they would use them for parts to keep the others operational. Sad to see them in that state but i suppose if they are surplus to requirements what else can you do with them?
Hey terry, yeah, i guess things get left behind quick in this world. yeah, it would be good to see them resurrected for sure.

What a shame that would make a brilliant tram museum, Blackpool history really sad, if they could talk.
sure would. a shame for sure.
Suprise that these Blackpool Survivors are still around most of the that where in this site where transferred to Blackpool Rigby Road just 3 years ago a sad site inded that these are neglected to Funcus and to Rust.
huge shame huh!
I wouldn't mind doing a photoshoot with a bunch of my photography club photographers and a fashion model at this tram graveyard who do I contact to set this up?
you don't.....it's gone. they crushed them and sold for crap. sad times. was a cool place
I know it helps to get views, but these trams aren't forgotten and this isn't a graveyard.
Hey Dadge, views? i honestly don't care about views, i care about reporting the forgotten. They have been here for years, some trams have ownership issues / disputes etc etc. These trams are rotting badly.......they have been neglected and therefore until something is done to restore....they will remain forgotten. out of sight out of mind.
I use to be a conductor on most of these such a sad way for them to be treated
Oh wow! I always remember the conductors shouting the names of the stops! “Uncle toms cabin” “gynn square” “bonny street” “star gate” etc! Yeah, sad to see them like this. Total waste. Silly council sold them off, now they just rot. Sad really
