- Several minutes of footage of Jim and Tammy's return to their Tega Cay home in June 1987 after Jim's resignation from PTL. Opening footage is the Bakker's arrival at the airport. Upon arrival at Tega Cay the Bakkers are greeted by daughter Tammy Sue and numerous family members. The woman behind the Bakkers with the silver hair is the sister of Vestal Goodman. Howard and Vestal were in the crowd in drive way shots.
Jim's parents and Tammy's mother are visible in the home coming arrival shots.
Clips also show PTL's reactions to the Bakker's return and their desire to keep the Tega Cay home.
The S class Mercedes sedans shown are thought to have belonged to Howard and Vestal Goodman as PTL had by this point taken back the Bakker's cars which were nearly identical.

I'm so excited to watch this! I've been waiting so long for a new video upload. Let me grab my popcorn.🍿
Enjoy!
Can't wait for more of these videos!!!
This is so crazy - Imagine if this was yourself returning to your *personal home* and there are dozens of cameras asking what you're doing back here?!
Be sure to take a look at the news clips video Jim and Tammy Resignation Palm Springs. The second clip is just a few days into the resignation and you'll notice Don Hardister head of security who you'll later see helping Tammy on the boat. In the Palm Springs clip there is a UPS truck and the guy helping Don is the husband Vi Azvedo. He handled a variety of tasks and is then seen in the Tega Cay drive footage after they are back.
The Tega Cay house never belonged to the Bakkers. Sometime between 1978 and 1980, representatives of PTL approached the original owners of the home (a doctor and his wife) asking if they would sell. Per Tammy Fay’s own testimony, the board of directors of PTL decided to give ownership of the home completely to the Bakkers. Originally, it was meant to be a parsonage, giving it tax-exempt status, as it technically belonged to a church. Tammy Fay insisted the house was *theirs,* but I don’t believe that at all. Also, one of the newscasters in this clip said the Tega Cay house was built by the ministry *for* the Bakkers, and that isn’t true. The house as it sat originally was quite large (not 10,200 sq ft as it was when the Bakkers left) and was built for someone else sometime between 1976 and 1978. The house never actually belonged to the Bakkers to begin with. I don’t think Tammy was lying. I just think there were a lot of assumptions made that were unreasonable, and the new board elected by Jerry Fallwell would not acknowledge any apparent agreement between the Bakkers and the previous board.
@@TVHouseHistorian yes, you are right. The house technically was owned by PTL, but they should have at least let go of this one property over to them to have some privacy and sense of family instead of pushing them out. Or put them on a payment plan to one day fully own it. Something.
She looked so angry when she said “ I do not know”
It was a really stressful time for Jim and Tammy. The media was obsessed and was unrelenting in their coverage of the story.
5:02 I can 100% see this happening...unfortunately - "Go into their home and destroy their records, shred any checks, and starve their dogs..." would of course 'make them look bad.' The new board of directors at PTL made it impossible for anyone on the outside to understand the full truth. It got so jumbled up too fast after Jim resigned and new board of directors were assigned. I wish they would at least given them their house knowing Jim + Tammy had 2 kids going through this as well.
The crimes were too deep. Jim was going to jail soon anyway.
I truly loved Tammy Faye, her authenticity was amazing. Had Jim listened to her, PTL would still be in business and flourishing. Tammy Faye saw the wolves in sheep's clothing foaming at the mouth to take down PTL. Jim got in over his head and Falwell was waiting. I miss her vibrant light, honest ministry and of course - the beauty that was Tammy Faye.

What a horrible day for everyone!!
Yes between the media and worries about losing the house it had to be really rough.
6:23 what were they doing getting on the boat? A joy ride on the lake? Why? Knowing cameras would be everywhere!
They took the boat to the next cove where their head of security Don Harister lived. Rick Goodman, son of Howard and Vestal was waiting there in a car. They did this to elude the media. Rick drove them to Heritage USA where they very briefly stopped in front of the Heritage Grand Hotel and were mobbed by hundreds of fans.
As Tammy steps aboard the boat you'll see Don Hardister helping her. He's wearing a jacket and has a beard.
@@JimandTammyThePTLChronicles I see after you pointed him out, is he still alive? What is he up to these days?
@@JimandTammyThePTLChronicles This is fascinating! How do you know such details? And at the time, was Rick Goodman on staff of PTL too?
I think he's still alive and was in the ABC doc in 2019
💯💯💯
