- Monday is the best day to go to Hull Fair as all the rides have arrived and so have all the other stalls and stuff. Everything is in stock, but by the Thursday, things start to have really run out. For many years there have been rumours of Hull Fair been open on the Sunday but it has yet to happen and although it would be good, restricted times would cancel out its appeal.
Yay! Hull Fair again, I wasn't feeling very well and before even getting there I was trotting off to the loo, but NAWT or OWT was stopping me going on the rides and eating stuff. Only going to get one chance to go this year so jippy belly will have to just deal with it... having said that, I didn't go on as many rides as I would have done.
Hull Fair will be 730 years old in 2023.
Looks great Charlie. So sad about the woman falling from the ride. How horrible. But I'm so glad she's ok. Your mum is so lovely, glad you all had a lovely time.

I miss going to fair with Grandma. With all the new LED lights they are now she would have loved to have seen it.

Looks like loads of fun. I love the smell of the food vans at the fairs. Hello Charlie's Mum. It was great to get a view from high up when you were on the ride and your patty and chips looked amazing.

I bet the people that live in those houses dread this time if year lol
The fair is over 725 years old... one or two moan but the vast majority are realistic people. One resident says she buys new curtains every year to make her house look as good as possible :D yes the gardens get loads of litter but it all gets cleared up. The noise bust be intense but like I say most of them are realistic, and to have all that on your door step for 8 days must be brill.
When the fair is not there, Walton Street is a very long road and the fields that the fair is on are very spacious, when the fair is there you don't notice it but when it's not, It is a tiresome walk and quite a quiet street (a summer market also has a few rides but is very small in comparison).
So, you missed the flying lady act ?

Love traditional events. To many older events get culled to fit into modern life and the self centred conceited views that things inturput their lifes, so they need to be stopped.
A few days, then they are gone. No real hardship.
