Chris Squire is always thought of as a phenomenal bass player. But his vocal abilities pairing with Jon were just magic...for DECADES.
    I miss him.

If you've ever seen his story about opening for Jimi Hendrix, I'd recommend it. He basically said that Noel Redding couldn't carry a tune at all, and Chris was like hey ill play any bass part you want! Lol could you imagine Jimi with Chris in his band?

I feel elation in my heart to see yet another generation discover half-century old music that was the soundtrack to my high school years in the mid/late seventies.
Yes, even by their name, is simply the most positive band ever. And to see you being amazed and uncontrollably having to groove with it is priceless.
    No better band ever.
    Blessings.

Most rock music has one tempo with several repeated parts like verse, chorus, bridge, etc. Music by Yes and most prog rock, is more like classical with individual movements and musical themes which are developed and modified throughout the piece. You mentioned reacting to another Yes album in the future. I believe it will be one of many more to come. Welcome to the mind expanding world of Yes.

I really find great pleasure in seeing how much you love music, how deeply you are moved by it. I really appreciate your spirit and how generous you are with what you're experiencing.
    Thank you, goodheart. 💙

  • @ericodijk

Three voices actually. The highest is Jon Anderson, his usual counterpart is bass player / singer Chris Squire and then there's the more normal lower voice, that is guitar player Steve Howe.
When the organ sets in, in the left channel you hear a recital of the John Lennon line: all we are saying is give peace a chance...
All Good People is another of those incredible tracks. I really appreciate how you delve so deep into seventies albums, good for you!

Beautiful reaction as always. This album defined their prog rock direction, the addition of virtuoso guitarist Steve Howe who also contributed significantly to the writing really took them to another level which they notched even higher on their following album Fragile with the addition of virtuoso keyboardist Rick Wakeman. They continued to push the boundaries throughout the decade. I hope the next Yes album you have lined up is Close to the Edge, it's generally considered to be the greatest prog rock album of all time & the title track the greatest prog rock composition. To say it will blow your mind is an understatement!! Best wishes

Easy to forget that poor Tony Kaye was replaced by Rick Wakeman - he does a great job on keyboards - but has to be said Rick lifted the band into the stratosphere!

I always thought Tony was a great chord player, which an organ can easily fill, and Rick a classical player.

Love watching your reaction to this truly wonderful music! Yes were not only a combination of top musicians, but created art which evolved over time through their various albums, so, ideally, you should listen to them in time order. Also, I saw that you reacted to a 1975 live version of Close to the Edge, which is a shame imo as the studio album Close to the Edge is a masterpiece and incredibley difficult to reproduce live, though they gave it a pretty good shot.

I went from reaction 1 directly to #2. Not only did I get to hear a great album in its entirety but I got to watch a great reaction. I was dancing with you. What a band!

Perpetual Change : it certainly is. Such an under exposed gem. It’s a YES from me.
