I really love your featured projects blog so far. I think you and your audience have a great eye for small unique touches and innovations. I hope that project highlighting can be a staple of your community.
Currently in the finishing stage of my first furniture piece. I've binge watched just about every woodworking youtube channel and would love to see more of the finish process in your videos. I guess it's not as exciting as the building process, but I feel I could pick up more tips just from watching the sanding/finish montage, like I have with your building montages. For example, you aren't teaching us "how to clamp during glue ups", but I've learned a lot just from seeing the glue up clips in all your videos. In this one specifically, seeing a bit about how you sanded all those curves would be helpful. I only mention it because my sanding/finishing is taking a while with mistakes to fix, so I snickered a little bit when you said "All I had to do was sand, add some finish, and this one was done". All that aside, great video! Great design! Great channel! The slower/calmer style (compared to other channels) took me a bit to get used to but I'm really digging it now.
Very nice design, with the right balance between clean and interesting, IMHO. I’ve never thought about it, but your right about the fact that commissioned builds allow you to make something you would never make for yourself.
I really like the videos that you narrate, Shaun. No offence to Chris and his wonderful videos, but I find your voice easier to listen to. Thanks for the great stuff.
Shaun Boyd - Foureyes no way Shaun! I definitely selfishly miss the dedicated Shaun Boyd channel. I’m glad things seem to be going well with the partnership with Chris though. I love the work from both of you guys! Thanks for the continued quality content.
@@shaunb66 Yeah! I second that, usually I watch one of your videos before going to my workshop, it helps me set the right mood in my head for doing things at a calm pace and not making mistakes.
Great design and work Boyd. I especially liked your work with the headphone hair at 12:44. All kidding aside, this came out gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this with us. Felix
Gotta admit, its kinda wierd not hearing Chris narrate, but knowing you both decided to team up, its like the lebron and davis of wood working. Really looking forward to learn more from you guys.
Love that it looks so much less bulky than traditional bunk beds. But I can see the strength in it now that I’ve seen the build. I’ve also now seen the hair with your hearing protection on! 😁
Would love to see a double bed version of this, for one or two adults, with desk space underneath, giving a split between office hours & relaxation hours. Working from home during lockdown I have come to appreciate separation between work & down time, as my desk is just a few feet away from bed, and I don’t have the luxury of working from the living room.
Thanks Pierre! That is a very good idea, especially right now. You could definitely fit a desk under this one, and a double bed would give even more space.
Shaun Boyd - Foureyes Thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work. Your videos, much likes the guys from Modern Builds and Homemade Modern give me something look forward to and some R & R too 😉🤗
A question about your equipment. It looks like you are using a Fuji HVLP for the finish. Have you had any experience by no-Fuji brand (cheaper) guns with that?
Great build, Shaun and great toss and catch. Did Chris realize the danger he was in when he stepped in front of you when you had a handful of scrap? Both of you stay well. Bill
How freakin cool!!! I would fashion a bench swing to the bottom of the bed for my meditation room (If I had a meditation room of course). I would def. comp some ZZZZZ on that bed!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
Very cool design, and I love your narration Shawn. I think I see some checking in the end grain of one of the boards at about the 11 minute mark. Did you use some CA or fill with wood glue, or do you think it won't be a problem as the bed adjusts to its new home?
Thanks Mike! Yeah, there was a small bit of checking on the end of one of the legs. I usually fill stuff like this with CA glue or epoxy if it is bad enough. These were very minimal, so CA glue should be fine.
Awesome video. Beautiful design and engineering. 11:47 are you providing the customer with an Allen wrench like Ikea? Love your guys commercials. Mahalo for sharing! : )
how many takes for that glue toss at 8:40? nice catch. also is anyone else having trouble with the Featured Viewer Project link in the description? couldnt find the page. the page is working from the site though.
Haha, this one took a few to get right. I just checked the link and it seems to be working for me. Thanks for going to the website to check it out, though!
Hey FOUREYES (both of you), Love your channel. I have an interesting(?) question for you. 1st an explanation of question, I hate having to clean & dust behind my bedroom & office furniture. Now the question. I've had this idea of making the furniture so it is nearly touching the walls, (even cutting for base boards but maintain same distance there as rest is from the wall{s}) and then using something along the lines of weather stripping around doors on the areas that the furniture buts up to walls. Does this sound like it would work at making it so I & anyone wouldn't have to move the furniture and keep the room & area clean, (maybe even keeping spiders & the like from getting in those areas, (spiders show up every where around this area of So. Cal. & it's like only fridges, freezers & coolers can keep them away with bug spray of some sort) ? Can you think of a better way to do this also. I'm 60 w/broken vertebrae, Parkinson's & arthritis and I am taking care of my 84 yr old dad & 80 yr old mom. Everything that can make my job here easier would help. My folks & I finally got our relationships in a good place about 12 yrs ago & I don't want to spend more time cleaning etc... than I do just being with them if you get me. Thank You Zach. I'll come back here in the next few day's and see if you have an answer or other ideas that might help. God Bless You. P.S. I know who I'm asking to bless you & I ask sincerely of Him.
Thanks Zach! I would imagine that installing furniture like you are saying would cut down on the need to clean behind stuff. I suppose it is similar to making a built-in piece of furniture just not quite as permanent. Good luck with everything, and thanks again!
I've got, 4ish mins left to watch, I'm both excited and apprehensive about the Boyd test. Will he lie down on a bed or is that too obvious... What will be do?
Sorry for the multiple uploads, we had some audio issues. And that's not all we have...we also have plans. Check 'em out here! - bit.ly/4eyesPLANS
any chance of you doing a minimalist wine rack with room for 50+ bottles? Would love to see what you could do! Love from Denmark

Ecstatic to see y’all working in Cherry. That ladder? Everything about it is genius. Whole piece is. Bravo on the design, Boyd.
Really appreciate it! I haven't worked with Cherry in a while, and I remembered how much I like it.
Super Clean!!
Thanks man!
I'm Danish and I approve this build/comedy sketch.

I agree with Ted - your voice is easier to listen to but both of you make great videos. Keep 'em comin.
Thanks Clyde! Personally, I hate my voice, but I appreciate it.
Good to see some og Shaun Boyd content again.
Haha, appreciate that!
LOVE it!! MORE Shawn Boyd content - love your style bro - style of furniture and video production
Really appreciate it! There will be more where this came from.
Absolutely gorgeous
Long time i've listened to some Lo-Fi !!
And, obviously, thank you for your work "hard-wood-Chris"
Well, between "head bored" and Vanessa Williams, you know how to hook an audience~!! Also, sweet glue bottle pass. Great build, guys~!!
Haha, I know what the people want. Thanks for watching!
I'm from Denmark and I love it when people call it Danish modern (mid century). We have a huge heritage of furniture making.
Absolutely! Some of my favorite furniture is Danish.
love the support of other makers @13:42 Shaun! awesome to see you guys supporting other talented individuals like Michael Alm @AlmFab!!!
Michael is a great dude! Love his stuff.
Very interesting to see that process even though it’s beyond me! Success on UA-cam is as much about the actors as the content, you two are good!
Very nice design, with the right balance between clean and interesting, IMHO. I’ve never thought about it, but your right about the fact that commissioned builds allow you to make something you would never make for yourself.
Thanks! Yeah, commission work is great to keep some variety.
love the clean and minimalistic look man! Cheers!
Awesome work Shaun! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Fred! 🙌👍😁
That’s truly stunning!

That bandsaw fence track trick. Absolutely genius. 👍👍👍
Haha, it worked like a charm!
Beautiful
I love the look of this loft bed! I think the rounded details in the stairs is my favorite!
Thanks Bruce! I'm stoked with how this one came out.
Nice looking loft bed Shawn and Chris :) Thanks for sharing the build with us!💖👍👌😎JP
Great design and perfect craftsmanship
Thank you!
Very beautiful

Really cool build, Shaun...you set some lofty goals a while back...now you are attaining them...happy for you.
Thanks Stan! Really appreciate that. A lot of hard work, but I wouldn't have done it any other way.
The Polk Loft Bed. Kidding! Love the project
Haha, a couple people have said that. Subconscious design inspiration.
Awesome man 😊👍
This is my favorite of your designs, the proportions and details are just incredible. Well done, love both of your work!
Thanks Travis! Really appreciate that!
Woah, this might just be what a lot of people need in their lives right now! Beautiful too.
Really appreciate it!
I'm dying 🤣😂🤣 - "hope that didn't make your head-bored..." 😂🤣😂
Haha, I had to.
I love every project both of you did. It's very clean, nice, and beautiful. Thanks chris, shaun. Greeting from Indonesia 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, always great works! They all look so perfect when finished.
Thank you!
That is one damn slick looking loft bed.
Thanks Michael!
Skills! Awesome!
Great job!! Congratulations!!!
Thank you!
Stunning project!!! Stunning video!!!
Thanks Kevin!
The ladder seemed like a complicated build, too many steps....get it! 😂 Great video!!!
Hiyo! Thanks for watching!
The last step is top notch.

Thanks Andreas!
Nice finish, looks great!
Thanks Arturo!
Beautiful work
Thanks!
Amazing job Shaun.
Thanks!
awesome video guys!!! Saw the whole thing on version 1 and the wacky audio really got me in the mood...if you know what i mean :)
Haha, glad to hear that, and glad we could finally get it right on the third try!
Dope looking bed dude, the ladder/half circle template shapes all came out beautifully!
You also use the best music
Really appreciate it! Thanks!
Great build! 🤙🏽
Thanks Ryan!
Amazing design folks. Beatiful!

Awesome build Shaun! Digging the Almfab shirt too

Third time's a charm!

Thanks Karen! I'm really happy with how it came out!
Love the design on this one. Had to build 2 loft beds in the past year and this one tops those
Really appreciate it! Thanks!
This is unbelievable. Shaun, are you some sort of wizard? It’s so gorgeous my palms started sweating 😅! Oh and 10/10 for the dismount!
Haha! Thanks Brandy! I am stoked with how it came out.
That's the most expensive stop block I've ever seen!
but also the most versatile. I mean, what other stop blocks can you resaw rough lumber with :)
Obviously, you micro-adjust the position of a table saw, not the stop block..right? Sorry, I got confused with all this science.
Once and again awesome build, also really enjoyed the music choice! Well done!
Thanks Dave!
Sweet! Love the clean look, except the round squareholes. I prefer them a little bit smaller, but just my two cents;)
I will take a queen loft bed! Please and thank youuuu💕💕💕
Would love to see a double bed version of this, for one or two adults, with desk space underneath, giving a split between office hours & relaxation hours. Haha, glad to hear that! I had to do it.
nicely done!

Good job Chris

Daaaaaamn ❤️
Haha! Thaaaaanks!
A question about your equipment. It looks like you are using a Fuji HVLP for the finish. Have you had any experience by no-Fuji brand (cheaper) guns with that?
I have used the cheap spray gun from harbor freight, and it worked great for what I needed, and especially for the price. The Fuji is amazing, too!
i like your shirt!
I struggle to find something like those corner connectors you use here in Europe. Do you have any suggestions please? Thanks .. oh and amazing build!
Get a shaper origin for all of those radius cuts!
now i want a loft bed more than ever, at 31 years old!
That wood finish looks amazing what is it?
I used a satin water-based poly for this.
seems perfect for kids. what's the weight capacity?
Nice! What's the difference between a domino and a biscuit?
Great build, Shaun and great toss and catch. Did Chris realize the danger he was in when he stepped in front of you when you had a handful of scrap? Both of you stay well. Bill
Thanks Bill! Not sure Chris even noticed until we watched the footage back, haha!
I’ve been hesitant on using the domino connectors. Now that I see how easy they are, I’m going to have to give them a shot.
Yeah, they work great! Definitely give them a try.
Very well made, perhaps its the angle of filming but that does look precarious, and also like super short for a single bed?
Thanks. It was made to fit a specific single bed mattress, so it should be fine.
Shaun Boyd - Foureyes well it looks amazing
From the thumbnail I thought it was a Paulk inspired Loft Bed. :)
I think it was a subconscious design inspiration haha!
How freakin cool!!! I would fashion a bench swing to the bottom of the bed for my meditation room (If I had a meditation room of course). I would def. comp some ZZZZZ on that bed!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!

Thanks! It is all Cherry.
Beautiful build! What size matress does it fit?
Ugh. Shaun you had a perfect opportunity for a laid to rest joke. Love the build and video. Great job.
Haha, thought it might be a little ironic to not lay down on the bed for this one. Thanks for watching!
very cool design, what kind of finish did you spray on at the end?
Thanks! I used a satin water-based poly for this one.
Awesome video. Beautiful design and engineering. 11:47 are you providing the customer with an Allen wrench like Ikea? Love your guys commercials. Mahalo for sharing! : )

If you ever decide to put up plans for your desk that would be awesome!
We are definitely always thinking of what to do for plans next, and a desk is on the list.
What camera(s) do you guys use? Colour and general image quality seemed sharper and more vibrant than usual. Have you recently upgraded or something?
Nope, same ol' cameras for this one. I use a Canon and Chris uses a Panasonic. Maybe better lighting in the shop? Not sure.
Will it be anchored to the wall? The height/depth ratio makes me think it'll be too easy for a kid to accidentally pull it over.
It certainly can be if the client wants to do that.
Great video! Thanks! Quick question, what finish did you use?
Thanks! I used a satin water-based poly for this one.
