Hi Chang, A'tin here. This boygroup is very talented. So much Filipino culture. This is my favorite song of them. I love how they incorporate the Mindanaoan Dance in Chorus. Thank you for reacting. I am starting to love and Stan this ppop group. God bless
I love how Chang talked about how Alamat incorporates Filipino cultures in their songs and MVs. Well they did that too in Maharani bcoz Filipinos love gaslighters and red flags. Hehe
I always comment this: Alamat are ambassadors and educators, so basically Magiliws are students of Alamat. With its viewers, including Filipinos and non-Filipinos, Alamat hopes to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for Filipino heritage and culture. They are getting ready for a school performance in this MV. The story and lyrics are about longing for the girl even though she doesn’t see the guy just yet. The reason the girl in the music video continued in the unhealthy relationship was that she didn't see her value herself in the same way that Alamat does. The girl chose her abusive and manipulative boyfriend at the end of the video, but the lyrics say "I won't get tired," so the story doesn't really end there because the guy is still waiting. The culture of the Maranao people is being showcased here. (Maranao means "lake people"). All of the performers have a story, but this MV only focuses on the Royal Princess and Prince. When translated to English, the lyrics of Alamat's songs may appear to be ordinary (e.g Queen and King), but in actuality, they often use rare and archaic Tagalog words (e.g Maharani, Lakambini, and Lakan) that are not commonly understood by many Filipinos today. 1. The guy in the motorcycle is Migo Valid, a singer-songwriter and actor under Viva Entertainment. 2. The girl is from the girl group BINI, Jhoanna Robles. 3. Jhoanna’s headdress is called a Sarimanok, a legendary bird from Maranao culture. (Sari - different colors, Manok - rooster/hen) 4. The outfits’ designs are influenced by illustrations from the late sixteenth century Boxer Codex which show how prior to Spanish colonization, gold was lavishly used by the archipelago’s various ruling classes in their clothing. (From Alamat’s post) 5. Their neckties have the Maranao weaving patterns. 6. Their group choreo and music is highly influenced by Singkil. 7. Dance: There are different kinds of Singkil, in this MV it is about courtship. It is considered one of the most golden Filipino dances, and is performed as a ritual for festivals and ceremonial rites of passage by young Maranao women, particularly of noble blood, to showcase their eligibility and agility for marriage. The word "singkil" means "to twist the feet with disturbing objects."
What’s very interesting about ALAMAT is that they always incorporate our culture in every song, and music video. They’re a multi-ethnic group who speak several languages in a lot of their songs, which showcase the diversity of the Philippines. They use a lot of historical references from our past history, use tribal beats with modern pop, incorporate war dances in their choreography, their fits…almost everything. Even if their MV is casual, it’s still very Pinoy. For example ILY ILY. It doesn’t seem like they used anything that relates to our past history, yet it’s still very Pinoy. I love this group so much
Thank you for reacting to Maharani. This is actually one of the fandom's favorite in their EP Pasulong. From 9, they are reduced to 6 w/ 2 former members gone solo, & 1 who took a voluntary exit from the group due to medical reasons. Most of Alamat's songs & MVs have cultural refences, from the words being used in the lyrics, the instruments in the song, the choreography, wardrobe, to MVs, there are tidbits of ph culture that could often be seen. Since day 1 the group managed to hold on to such concept :)
Some members actually left the band ALAMAT due to mental health reasons, or to pursue a solo career. The two that left last year are still friends with ALAMAT though
Thanks for the RV🥰 Please react to BINI's I Feel Good live performance on Wish Bus and their performance video for NO FEAR in MTV ASIA Jammin that was filmed in NYC.
Yeah your right sir, she's jhoanna from bini
