Have you thought about using a biscuit joiner? Or even just cauls? From my personal experience dowels are very unforgiving and require a tight tolerance on their hole positions. But biscuits are a bit sloppier.
Hello mate, yeah i thought about it but i didnt want to buy biscut joiner machine just for this one job. I rerly do these big heavy joints. If i did big tables and things like that on regular basis id definetely get biscuit joiner but for this one job that little tool is perfect and its perfect for MDF joining and slim boards joining. I recommend that tool worth £20. Greating from Norfolk!
James, from the 'Stumpy-Nubs' UA-cam carpentry channel, insists that biscuits form much weaker joints than dowels do. I invariably use dowels when I need rigidity and strength.
Why were you using the track saw guide upside down, and how did you manage to fix the saw too it? No wonder you have muscles pushing against the rubber friction pads.
It just looks like its upside down but its normal. I would not be able to slot saw in it if its upside down. Titan plunge saw has guild with plastic sliding strips on top that look like rubber. But those rubber padding is on bottom and its black not grey. I also cut full 45mm in one go so much slower and pushing harder. I dont do cutting in many thin cuts. Anyway Cheers bro!
His is rubbish .he didn't show us where he drilled the second board therefore he never showed us how to judge how he married up the dowl and the hole. Shite demo
Im still learning how to do youtube videos showing all zoomed in details and have whole process clear and easy to see how to do specific jobs..latest videos are a bit better. Thanks for a comment anyway
@@FinePineNorwichCarpenter People with a functioning brain know how to marry the other board up. I would ignore the internet trolls who complain. I have ordered a Wolfcraft jig, like yours, and I shall use it to dowel-joint a fly-screen door I'm making for my workshop. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this demonstration. Greetings from Sweden from a chap who used to live in north Norfolk. 👍🏻😊
