The great thing, is all these places you can go back to over the year and do more. Your only scratching the surface. (Which again: is Great). The food and beer; love your reactions of joy.
Oh yeah you said it man, our Airbnb host in Rotorua was so nice and told us like 10 different to explore and all we did was the tree walk because it was raining and we were a little exhausted haha so it feels like we missed out on a lot! As always, I appreciate your comment, Paul!
@@donovankelly12 yes come back there's heaps to explore. Summer time is probably best time though. If you like wine definitely try the wine tours, I'm not a fan of wine though haha. There's a art deco tour learn about Napier's history especially the 1931 earth quake that demolished the city. Usually Napier is one of the sunniest places in NZ but recently we have been having the worst weather.
So glad you enjoyed it, Mark! We are already looking forward to going back, gotta see more of the architecture and maybe indulge in some of the wineries and cideries there...
Wellington gets ragged on from a lot of kiwis, mostly because of the weather. But thats all part of its character, and when the weathers right? (which happens far more frequently than the rest of NZ likes to believe) Its an absolutely stunning city. its a bit like that italian sports car that always breaks down, but is just absolutely epic when its working - part of its charm is waiting for that moment its on point.
Nice way to put it! We’ve experienced 2 beautiful days there and 2 windy AF days haha but it’s just got so much to offer and we got plans to go back in a couple of weeks!!
If you walk around the ground track, on the far side is a path, that is mostly stairs, going up. It is an absolute climb! Glad you enjoyed your stay, hope you come back!
Yeah we ended up walking down that way and you are right!! So many people there for their evening workout, getting a good sweat on. Definitely had a lot of fun and we are really looking forward to Beervana in Wellington, just over a month away!
Yeah it was pretty great for the limited amount of time we were there. We’ve definitely heard that and tried a few beers from Wellington, all been delicious! Super stoked to attend a beer festival here 😃🍻
We actually went there for a quick two night stay about a month ago! I absolutely loved it, can’t wait to see more next month. We also just got All Blacks tickets for August in Dunedin so that’s going to be EPIC!
Hi, so enjoyed your awesome video. Glad you came to my hometown of Napier and sampled Vinciis pizza and Rasoi! We love to go to Wellington, seems to tick a lot of boxes. Look forward to seeing South Island through your eyes. Safe journeys.
Hi Louise, thank you for your awesome comment, I am so glad you enjoyed it! Wellington seemed REALLY cool, looking forward to going back but we will enjoy the South Island for now. Cheers!
originally from Napier I suggest if get chance to visit in February during the Art deco weekend time (loads people dress in the styles of the art deco days there also few to lots of vintage cars, should give that old Chicago feel well and truly). Normally mid Feb. It also means summer is full on and mostly great nice days around that time.
Thank you for commenting that information here, that sounds like it would be really fun. We were obviously there in May but I can imagine the summer is truly beautiful. Really enjoyed our limited time there.
Man your videos are way too short, your story telling and shots have gone up another level. You guys are gonna froth on the south island. Might have to get me some tiger milk 🍻
Haha thank you so much! Man that was a beast to edit... anything longer and I would only have a video a month lol. Tiger Milk was amazing! Just found some here in Christchurch at a New World so I'm happy about that. Cheers! 🍻
I hope you enjoyed it!! Haha yeah we did, we ended up walking down the "steepest" way and man... I got mad respect for all the people running up and down those stairs...
Absolutely! So many people say “just go to the South Island” and though it is really great, the North Island has a lot to offer. Thanks for watching! 😃🍻
You definitely only scratched the surface in Wellington. There is so much to see and do there and up the Kapiti Coast and the Hutt Valley. Around the Kapiti Coast off the top of my head there is the Paekākāriki Escarpment Track (its a fairly tough walk, it takes 3-4hrs, but once you get above the railway the views are incredible). At either end of said track there are the picturesque seaside towns of Paekākāriki and Pukerua Bay. And for a bite to eat there is Plimmerton Fish Supply in Plimmerton. Grab yourselves some crumbed fish and beer battered chips (they are SO good) and take them a short walk down the road to the waterfront. On a fine day it is yet another picturesque spot.
Oh yeah I can’t imagine, thanks for suggesting these spots, we will have to check them out on our next visit there (Especially the beer battered chips haha). Cheers! 🍻
@@donovankelly12 The bear battered chips may not be up to your expectations, but personally I think they're really nice. Oh and I forgot to say, while you're in Christchurch if you haven't already go on the Gondala and the Luge. The Luge is one of the greatest inventions that we came up with.
Another great post; like Orewa, you can't go wrong living in Mt Maunganui. I'd live here if I could, but the Missus prefers closer to Auckland (thus Orewa for us).
Beautiful shots yet again, man. My only complaint is you should have pet those cute little white puppies. Otherwise, excellent stuff. Love the commentary.
Yeah I was thinking it was going to be nice but it kinda blew my expectations out of the water! And we were only there for a few hours... thank you for watching 😃
Ah yes as a wellingtonion I can say rent Is horrendous Wellington and auckland are the most expensive places to live in nz and I think welly is probably more so than aucks or the housing is just worse, but if you are getting a good salary yourll be fine
@@donovankelly12 Fun fact It use to belong in my home town Christchurch, though in 2011 after the earthquakes it was sent to the city art gallery, I remember it before the earthquakes.
Napier, Wellington and parts of Auckland are my favourite places here. I used to live in Napier and live only a short drive away from it now and I lived in Auckland a couple years ago for uni. I live in Palmy now for uni and it's just okay. I also visited Welly for the first time earlier this year (aside from a school trip ages ago) and absolutely loved it, I'd love to live there one day if I don't move to Australia. Other than that, I haven't seen much else of my country. It is pretty but don't let that fool you, the actual LIVING part is very, very hard and not nearly as publicly peaceful as you might have heard - especially over time. There is a reason why the su*cide stats are so high and why so many of us have considered it and Tall Poppy Syndrome, violence (towards families, public and businesses) and bullying contributes massively to that.
Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate the insight. It has been very interesting talking to people and reading comments about what it is like to live here. Thats is unfortunate to hear.
Hope you're enjoying our little part of the world! 🤙
Sure am! Cheers 🍻

Its the Art Deco of the world. Napier is my home town. I might have to try that tiger milk beer sometime
It was so lovely, really looking forward to going back and exploring more. It was great to see such a lively community on a sunny Sunday morning 😀 ☀️

You should go to Tauranga again and new Plymouth
Yeah for sure! Tauranga kinda blew us away in the limited time we were there. New Plymouth looks really neat too 😃

I'm impressed with how the Reo Maori is coming along nicely. Good for you!
Hey thanks! Definitely watched a lot of UA-cam videos on the Māori language.

There's only one reason I don't live in Wellington....the weather!
Ah good to know, I've heard it can be a little disappointing! Beautiful town though.
Napier was hit by a massive earthquake and was rebuilt in the Art Deco period.
Yeah absolutely! Their art gallery had a little history exhibit about this and reading up about the earthquake has been very interesting.
North Island of New Zealand is beautiful
It sure is!!
It’s out yes 🎉 by the way you guys went up the second hardest way on the Mount

Another amazing video, dude! Your editing is on point. Really glad you enjoyed Wellington, and I hope to see you there soon! Maybe for Beervana ;)
Thanks, James! It would be awesome to see you at Beervana haha cheers! 🍻
It's ok, you saw everything there is in Napier 😂 it's a shame you didn't pop down into Taupo... so pretty.
