    All 3D Printers can print PLA and PETG but all can’t print ABS, Nylon, CF-PA, GF-PA, PC. This is not the case with this printer. X-Plus is an absolute workhorse for serious makers or engineers. Testing this printer has been wonderful, now one, this is my first choice for most of the prints!

    Finally manufacturers start to understand that hotend should be full metal to print nylon, PC or even ABS

      Someone said on the "3D printing general" channel that on his X plus it's not an all metal hotend.
      He said he took it apart and verified that there is indeed a Teflon tube touching the hot end.
      Can anyone confirm?

    "The sound level with this printer is, um. Somewhere between silent and loud."
    That really made me laugh.

    It's amazing to see how far printing has come even since I got started only 6 years ago. I spent $800 on a wood-frame FlashForge in 2015 that would *kind of* print ABS, but had all the same issues that non-enclosed units (still) have.
    Now we have a printer like this, that is available for slightly more than my CR-10S that I only use for PLA and PETG.
    Technology is an amazing thing.

      Gads, a lot of printers that are REALLY unsuitable ABS are advertised as such.
      Would be great to go to town printing engineering materials!

    I can print CF Nylon on my modified CR20Pro (ender 3 with abl and closed bottom basically), no warping
    all you need is an all metal hotend (to print hot enough), a filament dryer! (required especially with nylon) and a hardened nozzle

    I love my printer and yes, the plate REALLY sticks yet will get better over time and be a perfect sticking plate. Mine is about 5 months old...but please leave a common on what firmware you have? (also I did print a 920 camera mount and back tile plating if interested.

    I'm thinking of getting this as my first 3D printer. I could really do with seeing one in person.

    The first model that came with the printer is a single Pen/Pencil holder. Not really sure what it is, but I put it on my desk and threw a pen in it!!! At least I can look at it and say that it was the first thing that came off my Qidi X-Plus that I setup and ran today.

    what parts did you print in the video? it looks like a wind turbine or similar; can you tell us?

  • @JulianTheHunter

    I like this video.
    But maybe you can answer me this: is it possible to take a qidi i mate s and upgrade it with a metal hotend to print nylon?

  • @skylabvisuals1960
    @skylabvisuals1960 2 роки тому +1

    So what slicer settings did you use for your turbine part that worked well? Mainly just nozzle and bed temp?

    great review. I think I am going g to get this printer and sell all my others. I need a tool for my workshop, not something that only makes toys. plus I have a friend with a 7 year old qidi that still works. so they're definitely robust

    This is a great review/demo of the product. I figured the yellow logo was something you just peel off, not something that obstructs the view of the interior. Who's bright idea was that?

    • @MrElapid
      @MrElapid Рік тому

      Just ordered one of these today based on the great reviews and the ability to print hi-temp materials. I assumed it peeled off too! Yikes... Very silly.

    hello, which slicer settings do you use to print? I am new to the 3d printing world but am having trouble with printing the top. Also my prints are hollow even if infill is at 100

    I am looking for a printer that can print Nylon CF and Ultem, Peek parts and this is the lowest priced option I have seen so far, the only thing that puts me off is it does not seem to have 360 degrees part cooling

    • @BH4x0r
      @BH4x0r 2 роки тому +2

      cf nylon is really easy to print, any printer that can go over 250 safely (all metal hotend) can do it, all you need is a hardened nozzle, ultem and peek is different tho
      my best suggestion is to just build a printer with heated chamber, with an E3D V6/Volcano hotend and a PT100 sensor, most hotend thermistors can't take over 300°C so thats why you need a good thermocouple.
      will be probably around $300 if you don't pick the highest quality parts for high speed printing (high speed printers usually use linear rails etc to print really fast without ringing, but those cost way too much imo)
