I think you're right, that could be possible. It would make getting the ankh a bit harder, but that wasn't necessary for this run and it isn't even necessary to go past tiamat so I think you might be onto something. The only thing is that you might need to use a lot of bombs, which could hurt the rest of the run.
@@linguinelabs That's true. You can get the ankh on the first phase though, by bombing him a path so that you can get the entrance where the children of the forest stand to give you bombs. The ankh is directly there, so it's possible to get it, bomb to lower leves (8 bombs) then freeze the lava into rocks, then bring Olmec down. It's extremely bomb intensive and pretty much useless but it's very entertaining!
Isn't it optimal to have a freeze ray and powerpack yourself, and then drain it from one side first, so that you can get on the ground as fast as possible?
@@dontworryaboutit3437 The framerate was bad throughout, not just during the olmec drain. It does get worse due to the rocks, but you can see even the Tiamat fight has scuffed framerate. The shield is a good idea, but maybe not as good as a freeze ray in terms of time.

now, do it BEFORE olmec falls in so you can get the last of the lava

Absolutely. Just need to get that in the first shop. This could shave off some time on the last bit of the lava.

What you do is leave olmec on level 1 clear out all of the lava then see if he will still be able to move with no lava down there
I think he will. This is pretty hard to do as you'd need so many bombs and on a speedrun too.

I actually feel like he probably doesn't die, he jsut has a trigger on the lava layer to stop moving. so I'd guess he would stop moving anyways

Frame rate actually dips because you’re creating a bunch of rocks and it’s too many items for it to process.
If the frame rate affects the time enough you should consider bringing a shield to crush some of the rocks to fix it
