Sato's mother disappearance is an obvious hook for a sequel, not an euphemism for death to avoid traumatize children
I've been hearing good things about this, so i'm pretty hyped for it. My gf thinks it looks cute as well, so always nice to get her to watch a kaiju film!
I just watched it, trust me It’s a really good movie, it’s even been directed by the director of coralline! The movie does really cool subversions on kaiju media
This is the perfect Father's Day movie.
The theme song is a bop and the rise is beautiful
Hey jacob
Dangerville, how have you never made a video about the Kaijus from the Ultraman franchise? They have many that could defeat Godzilla
1:52 ultraman Rising
and a new story begins
🤍💙❤️😍😍😍🫶🫶🫶🤩🤩🤩
Glad to hear you liked it. I got my sister excited for it because it'll be fun to watch with her 2 year old son.
3:00 definitely missed that mid-credits scene
Watched it not long ago, great movie! Dug all the great little references throughout the film, but ine I definitely didn't expect was a power rangers/super sentai reference. Several times throughout the film, you catch sight of a figure that clearly is based on the dino thunder/Abaranger megazord, with the rex tail drill arm and everything, absolutely loved that one
I didn't have any real high hopes for the flick, so I am probably going to be really happy with it. Even something "ok" will be great to me honestly. Ultraman has not fared well with American adaptations. I'm happy for the company actually and am glad they are trying to branch out to the west. I remember back in the day they would keep all their Ultra episodes that they would upload to their UA-cam channel behind a "region lock". If you were in American you could not watch it because you were in the wrong global region (this was before VPNs made that a thing of the past).
But they have certainly realized the untapped market for Ultraman finally over here.
I enjoyed it. I got my own mini kaiju (my dog, Maisey) to take care of a year and a half ago, so it hit a little different than it would have otherwise. My main criticism would be the lack of lore and the way the second montage skipped over some character development. We don't know how the Ultra powers work here. Are they merged with an ultra? Are they part alien themselves? Never explained. They just ARE Ultramen. And we get like one part of a montage showing him taking a mentoring role in his baseball team and all of sudden he's fully integrated into it. You could tell it wasn't originally meant to be an Ultraman movie, but it was engaging and entertaining throughout, and quite emotional at times. Plus I'm a sucker for an Ultraman that's sympathetic to kaijus, Cosmos is my favourite series. So for all it's flaws I'm quite hyped for a sequel.
Recently saw it, LOVED IT!!!!
Coming from letterboxd. Glad I did. Ultraman was a really fun watch. Gave it 4 stars.
I see that RoboSeven shirt, got mine too. 💚
DAVIS IT IS 1 IN THE MORNING WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME
but awesome you got to see this
I be real I had no hopes for it happy to know it might be decent
Spoiler alert
in the post credits scene Kenji recieves a distress call from his mom, from Nebula M8, which is obviously hinting to a sequel far more connected to the grander Ultraman Verse since it is the homeworld of the Ultra's
Congrats on your letterboxd review becoming the 3rd popular review on the Ultraman: Rising letterboxd page!
God, so much kaiju media on Netflix... Ugh I'm so tempted to rebuy a Netflix subscription!
so it may have been different in the version you watched, but in the netflix version ken and his fathers history is more fleshed out. Ken explains that his father wasn't around very much because he had to be ultraman, and also when ken and his mother left japan, Ken's father stayed behind giving ken the impression that Ken's father had chosen monsters over his family. also Ken felt that the job of being ultraman was forced onto him by his father robbing him of a normal life
Hey what's up it's been a long time I can't wait for Ultraman why is it a bit of a big fan of the ultimate series in long time I was wondering do you think about doing a review of my adventures with Superman it's a fantastic series and I love the anime feel they gave to superman
Ive been interested in watching it since the first trailer, it looks cute and i always will prefer an Ultraman that has kinder/gentler side to them then then the ruthless killers that dont seem all that heroic
Have you ever watch Ultraman cosmos? He has ability to purify/calming the kaiju
It was a great movie the rise is beautiful the spacium beam is amazing
Approximately how much does Ultraman rise?
Several times I'd say
*Calls Emgo*

I saw today and it was very weird film 😮
Is animation now cinema?
A conundrum indeed. I watched it in such 🤔
Always has been
wdym. It always has, always will .
There is also a mid credit scene...did you see it?
I missed it 😭
@@TitanGoji Go and watch it. It's an Easter egg.
IMO it just didn’t make sense to me. I will say that my kids loved it! The visuals are incredible and the colors really popped. BUT I just couldn’t get around a few things. Kaiju are bad? Right? They destroy cities and towns and people die. The “villain” was very ….. likable honestly I felt more for him and his story than I did with the two main characters. The original Ultraman fought them his whole life seemingly but he also loves them? Idk 🤷🏾♂️
just like Cosmos
Spoilers ahead:
Kaiju are only bad because they’re in an unfamiliar environment they’re more animal than you think. For gigantrons case in this movie, they were just defending emi (the baby kaiju) from the humans in which in the end when ultraman fought mecha gigantron, gigantron noticed him embracing emi and taking care of her so saw him as a non threat and helped him fight the scientist. Speaking of, i agree with you about feeling for him rather than hating him. I truly didn’t want him to die but to be fair that’s the path he chose, he is a broken man without his family and would rather die then to continue to suffer living being reminded that his family is dead.
Idk this getting so much hype when the netflix Ultraman anime is so much better and I didn't see any hype for that.
The anime is actually amazing, it’s very different from your typical Ultraman though
Because the anime has been there for a while, this is new
It was a bad call for the rip-off Kaiju 8 did better than Ultraman because and shouldn't be surprising it actually has a story with characters who do develop Ultraman Rising didn't even care to do that
