The thumbnail looked so realistic that i thought it was gonna be leaked war footage lol
Same hahaha
I was looking for the LiveLeak logo until he called us modelers.
Me too lol
Y’all are behind the times. War footage isn’t leaked anymore, its just out there.
ngl same and in crisp view to then yeah...but still worth the watch and sub
This is some of the best footage from cameras onboard an RC plane that I've ever seen. The in cockpit pan tilt views are amazing. The quality of the cockpit finishing is great and adds to the realism. It seems like a limiting factor for cockpit realism is the quality and clarity of the glass and the junction of where and how the glass is framed and mounted. Everything else like dials look so real.
Thanks! Yes, and this is one of the better canopies I have put an fpv under. Some of the poorer plastic canopies I can improve with a floor shine type coating.
Needs the necessary Paint it Black soundtrack
Damn those snake eyes are consistent. Right next to each other.
Straight Up!
Outstanding!!! Most aviation fans are all about the F-18's, F-16's, etc. Not many are interested in the ugly ducks like the OV-10 Bronco, OV-1 Mohawk, etc. But to me, the OV-10 was a beautiful plane built to do what it did based on need, not speed. The A-10 is another example. One bad-ass plane that the guys on the ground are thankful for.
Thanks, in case you missed it, I have a 1/10th scale a-10 almost ready to fly that will drop mk81, mk82, mk84 and snakeyes. Video soon if the weather here cooperates.
I agree with you on wanting the oddballs. I have always had a love for the O-2 Skymaster since my uncle had a civilian skymaster he flew in the 90s. Not sure if anyone makes a decent RC of it or not but I think they're just neat
@@coser293 there was a sky master ARF quite some years ago, but I have not seen one recently
All we're missing is the KABOOM...
Amazing footage, amazing model
There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering kaboom
I made replacement cockpit crew windows using stretched acrylic for this aircraft in the early 90's in Michigan. Excited to see an RC version of this plane. Great job!
I love the new cockpit view, especially looking over at those spinning props--just like being there! The Snake Eyes were awesome.
As a little girl I got to go on a CAX (Combined Arms Exercise) training mission with my Dad out at 29 palms. I got to ride in a Bronco that was doing a mock recon team insertion. The images from your cockpit were so realistic that I could almost feel the sensations from that ride so long ago!!! Thanks for sharing this.
I'm glad I could bring back such good memories! Thanks
That digital fpv system looks so awesome
Big bombs. No booms. Really nice work on the cockpit. That’s awesome you can turn the pilots head to look around. That must be really cool to fly it like that.
The thumbnail made this look so realistic...at least I thought it was anyway. Those model bombs are just fantastic!!!! Go Bronco!!
OV-10s were still in use in Korea flown from Camp Humphreys when I was there mid 90s. I'm very familiar with the ordnance as I was an Aviation Ordnanceman in the Navy and I assembled Mk-80 series bombs in many configurations including those shown. That made watching this all that much more enjoyable.
Impressive. my critical nature has to search hard for anything that might be considered a flaw, then it's only related to ordinance, and then it's impractical on the scale: slower opening of the drag fins to prevent impact with the aircraft or other ordinance. Excellent work.
Very cool. Your designs and execution is remarkable. Many years ago I read your build article for the Vertigo in Model Aircraft News, might still have the issue. It took me a while to figure out the motor control circuit for the nacelle tilt/jackscrew ( didn't have the plan ) That brilliant little circuit has been so handy in many projects, thank you Sir.
Thanks, I have often wanted to revisit the vertigo as an electric but since there are so many other ways to do electric VTOL I really haven't been that motivated
Love these realistic setups. Add some cap loaders or blank heads under the nose cone. If done correctly, you can add a tiny extra bit of front end weight to the armaments, as well as create a nice “bang” on impact.
Ngl those are some pretty cool bombs, looks pretty much exactly like the real-life counterparts (Especially the snake-eyes)
I'm not a modeler but I was a Load Toad on A-10A's back in late 1970's and I had a thing for the OV-10 since I was a kid. As a loader, I learned to load and wire both low drag and Snake Eye bombs and later the newer high drags with the Ballute inflatable Retarded Bomb system. I was really amazed at how well your Snake Eyes worked, especially on such a small scale. When we loaded the real ones, we would use a longer length of arming wire to prevent the fins from opening until they were nearly 3' away from the air craft. If they opened too soon it would damage the air frame. The pilots would also use the "Ripple" feature when dropping multiple bombs to prevent the tail fins from hitting each other by inducing a short 1/4 second delay from one release to the next.
I'd really love to see you wire up some rockets. Most OV-10 used by the Air Force were FAC, (Forward Air Controllers) and they rarely if ever carried MK 82s. The primary load out was a mix of HE and WP 2.75" Rockets in the LAU-32 or LAU-68 rocket pods. We only used the LAU-32, 7 tube launchers on the A-10s but during the VN war, the OV-10 carried both. They used WP to mark targets for the fighters and HE if they were doing their own fighting. A good friend I'd met after my AF days, Gary Ferentchak was an Air Force FAC pilot on his second tour and flew OV-10s. He was even written up in the book, "The Rescue of BAT-21" by Darrel Whitcomb. It's a great book that tells the REAL story of BAT-21.
Thank you for the great info however as recreational model pilots in the United States we are not allowed to launch pyrotechnics. Everything we do has to be inert.
THAT IS MY DREAM, just add a gibal Ifra-red camera, that would been everthing I could thing off. I love it. THX for showing
The Mk.82 Snakeyes made this rig next level!
Sweet man love your videos and im printing out for mk-82 bombs thanks so much for sharing the files
Thanks. forgot some lnks so I put them in the description
That is the most impressive cockpit fpv shot ive seen so far. Reaaaaallllyyyy awesome job!
Your flying buddy Rick is a brave man!
Pretty darn amazing!! Love the cockpit view and the bombs impaling the ground.👍👍
Enjoyed it. I love flying FPV. Your bomb drop brings a totally new game! Thank you!
You're very welcome. Flying fpv is great, but I love the added dimension of bomb dropping!
That was all really well done! The model is impressive as well. Thank you for sharing!
You did an awesome job with everything, very realistic and FPV gives the camera a real pilots view
My heart is not made of stone. This is freaking cool.
This video was brilliant! Very cool. Thanks for sharing. The bombs....awesomeness.
Extremely realistic, nice upgrades there with the digital fpv!
Great Work Tom! Love the angles
"Boys never actually grow up. Their toys just get bigger and more expensive". I would have exploded if I had this as a kid.
Snake eye drop is amazing. It looks totally realistic
Love watching Snake Eyes fall. In cockpit view is awesome, that would work great for dogfighting.
The mk82 with the snakeyes kicking out are too cool!
That IS the coolest RC video I’ve EVER seen! Great job.
That is seriously awesome. If I ever really get back into RC, I am going FPV for sure.
Incredible detail on the model inside and out
that is some great video shots from inside the cockpit!! and underneath!!
2:28 Wow! That footage of the prop was so cool! It makes it seem like a grainy recording by an actual pilot lol
the bronco is amazing and my favorite propeller aircraft
Nice try, but that farm seems undamaged.
No ground hogs were harmed in the making of this film!😊
🤣😂
Great work mate. Looked really cool.
Thats a rocking little plane. Love it
You know, the price of this makes me sad. I would love to do this for a hobby but I just can’t afford it. Lovely to hear your enthusiasm though, thank you
Looks like some Vietnam war footage I've never seen! Coolest model ever and those bombs are crazy sick!
Wow, they stick in the ground like Jarts.
Absolutely love the cockpit view with pan and tilt. I wonder if you could use DJI’s goggles Integra and be able to turn your head to turn the camera.
Very cool. Looks like a lot of fun
This is a triumph!
Man! This is great footage! One of.my favorite aircraft...this is the kinf.of FPV I'd want!
BTW brilliant flying!
Awesome man. Please make a video on your equipment , how you install them on the aircraft, the connections , how to install dji goggles and the air unit and get them connected to a head tracker, from where to buy head tracker , how the connections are done to the receiver , could a spectrum tx and rx be used or should one use the dji transmitter .. etc ,, many questions! Thanks
WOW! GREAT JOB!
I gotta get to work on my A-10!😂
My freewing 80mm a10 should be flown soon
This was like my dream as a kid
Wow. Pure genius.
If I may suggest however that you put the Snake Eyes on the outboard stations. It will reduce the chances of the petals interfering with each other on separation. Those bombs are too beautiful to risk damaging.*
*Not a sentence I ever expected to write.
Thanks I may do that, though I am not worried so much about them getting damaged on the release as I am when they hit the ground! a lot more energy is absorbed in the sudden stop!
Great video, this footage was awesome!! Great work!!👍
I didnt realize the bombs stick in the ground! That is awesome! I could really get in to Rc ov-10 bronco fpv Lawn darts! Makes me want to build a AC-10 Warthog version and play Rc bomb darts haha.
Stay tuned! I just flew my brand new freewing a10 today with snakeyes and triple ejection rack mk81s!
Pretty freaking cool
Thank You for sharing this with us. 👍😉
Haven't spoken to you in years, nice to see you are still around.
Ya, thanks, still this side of the grass! Hopefully for many years to come!
That is very impressive... super realistic. You need to work for a company that does film models, but I guess they think digital is better, but I think this is better... digital feels fake; this feels real...
Good job algorithm,enjoyed every second.
I Love the ov10. Such a great plane. I fly fpv and what you are doing is so badass.
thanks, I fly FPV more than half the time.
Awesome video! Incredible realistic job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I gotta say ive always thought rc planes and such... kinda nerdy, but the fpv set up is really cool having that vs the ole controller/looking around in the sky seems way cooler and more realistic that you dont quite get from a drone.
Bro, that was BADASS!!!!!!!!!!
watching in slow-mo for extra immersion
Stunning work, thank you for sharing :)
Where's the KABOOM!? There's supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!
Great video! Can’t wait to see more guys!
Thx, Next will be powder filled bombs to simulate explosions!
@@tomhuntFPV amazing idea! Be safe gentlemen!
My bro-in-law flew those. I built a model of it in like 1969.
That's pretty awesome. Love the Snakeyes ! And your friends video showed how well they drop too. Very cool.
I think if you play with the frame rate of the FPV cockpit footage (and even the belly cam footage), you would get something very very close to realistic (non-model) footage. I think you would need to shoot at a higher frame rate and then play it back at normal speed, and that slow the action down-making it look more realistic (a scale model aircraft turns tighter and faster than a real aircraft). By slowing down the action, it would look a lot more like it was shot from a full size aircraft.
Just my .02, and not intended in any way to take away from the cool stuff you have achieved. Nice work !
Thanks, but I don't have a choice on the inexpensive keychain 1080p cameras I put on the model. I also don't have the most sophisticated video editing software. I save my money for models a filament!😁
Fantastic work!
Loved the Snake eyes!!
Holy cow, that's amazing!! Would it be terribly difficult to fit the camera setup for the back seat? You could take friends up for rides with you!!
I have a 1/4 scale tiger moth open cockpit biplane that I an going to do just that, later this year.....hopefully
Amazing detail!!!
Now you need to make the bombs hold 12 gage blank ''dog training rounds'' that are louder than normal 12 gage loads. Excellent model, excellent flying skills, and the OV-10 is my favorite plane next to the
P51-D. I'll buy a real OV-10 for you and one for me if I win the Powerball.
I used to load snakeeyes on A-10s.
Yeah that digital camera view from the cockpit is amazing! what a contrast from the first clips of the analog. It would be nice if you could get a cockpit / canopy covering that was dimensionally accurate in its formation. you can see a lot of aberration where the thickness changes for the molding. It may be a limitation of the process and materials used, so I wonder if there is high dimensional accuracy transparent optical grade material that can be formed into the scale shape you want. otherwise just a regular dome like all the commercial drones have. molding a canopy that has better optical characteristics would be really hard, maybe you could get away with multiple flat planes of near perfect glass that basically represents the canopy lines of that aircraft but up close are flat, that could be one trade off that might work for you if you want to be "semi-scale". Somehow though, seeing all the work that went into the dimensional accuracy of the snake-eyes and the realism you captured in their form and function the flat glass is probably a non starter for you. Come to think of it.. the front canopy panel may be the only spot you could actually put something that allows you higher optical fidelity and maintains true scale. Anyways, Amazing work, very cool videos and looking forward to more of these!
That looks so cool, thanks for sharing!
Awesome!!!! Excellent job!
That looks like some serious fun
Great footage...Nice upgrades.
Just...just amazing.
Amazing! Great rig!
Would love a pair of snake eyes for the 64mm F-14. Would like to use the eflight servoless ejectors. But I would need to print a small ring on top of the Mk 82. Mount ejector mechanisms on bottom of fuse behind the fixed mounted Phoenix missles
That was just awesome!
Man that's so cool!, you should put a real working small compass on the dash so you can see it through the fpv.
There are guys working on Arduino based working instruments using flight sensors already available that to this point only record data to the transmitter.
Would be an interesting challenge to take the digital FPV feed and using telemetry from the gimbal and aircraft sensors to overlay a little HUD on the video aligned to the aircraft, even add a little CCIP pipper for bombing runs!
I am flying tomorrow and old style reticle gun/bombsight. There is no Telemetry though in that unit. There are people that are working on creating a working HUD
Very impressive.
Absolutely awesome!!
Damn good video quality.
That looked awesome! I guess now I'm going to have to look at more of your videos on your channel... damn you, YooToob, stop recommending things! There's just not enough hours in the day to watch all of this cool content! /shakes fist 😄
Nice Job!!
Very cool from here in England
Awesome, all that’s missing is a moving compass and glide slope indicator
working on that. there was a guy making dash units for a while but no response from anymore.
That’s Freaking Awesome Tom !!!!👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻😃
Thx, I love this kind of stuff. Wait until you see my freewing A10!
Saludos Amigo muy realista el video , las bombas se desplegaron muy bien , solo falto dispararle a un blanco en tierra , muchas gracias por compartir feliz dia y exitos
Wow! Absolutely incredible
That camo was 10/10😅
this is super cool. i bet you could make it into a fun game haha. WHen i was in flight school they had a club that if you were chosen you could join and they had competitions to see who could do weight and balance the fastest and they did an airdrop to a bullseye.
Bomb drop has always been a popular event at club rc model contests ever since I started flying in the early 1970's. but of course until recently it was all done LOS. it is not that much easier by FPV as I showed you here: ua-cam.com/video/3mQaFXsY6AU/v-deo.html and here: ua-cam.com/video/L0uATXiuOX4/v-deo.html
