"Do her or you're gay"
Best patient
Ohhh the good ol days when Hollywood could make a joke and it was allowed to be funny.
@@kraff2988Jimmy Karr and other comedians are still around you know almost like your statement is bs
@@kraff2988well, go make a good joke, or else you're gay
@@hibarikyoya854Jimmy Karr better not make a Joke in Scotland, or even have his material watched in Scotland, as of the 1st of April, just about all of his material could be interpreted as hate speech.
'oh no because being gay is soooo bad.'
"Not since disco died,"
That's a heavy hitter, even for Wilson 😂
Chase & Foreman like “Benefits?? 👁👄👁”
the funny thing is that the main reason House doesn't want to date Cameron is that he knows that she is attracted by him mainly because he's broken and she's the "I can fix him" type (that's why in 3x01 when House's leg doesn't hurt anymore and he asks her for a date, she says no, confirming House's theory about why she was attracted by him in the first place)
And that's exactly how Wilson relationships works too and why his successives marriages were doomed to failure, as House tells him in season 2 (when he finds out Wilson has been sleeping with his patient and even moved with her right after divorcing his last wife), because as soon as his girlfriend/wife is fine, he's no longer interested in the relationship... and yet this is a key reason why his friendship with House lasts for so long.
Also by season 3 he had hurt her enough to not want to be with him. In later episodes their interactions show she still likes something about him
@@derrickstorm6976yes, I think the fact that they didn't go through with it despite an obvious attraction means that it persisted especially for Cameron while House moved on with Cuddy (then Dominika)
And Cameron hates House especially after she blames him for what Chase did to the African politician.😂
Or... she didn't want him to feel he had to be perfect in order to ask her out.. It broke her spark for him.. the way he casually mentioned the reasons for liking others in past relationships.. Or, that it even matters if she's drive in that way..
@@timmy-wj2hc indeed, in season 6 when she leaves the show
love how Wilson smiled like the flower pin was for him 😂
having a friend like Wilson is a legit lifegoal
Amen to that @@SadButter
4:48 I love how Wilson cares for house♥️
Subconsciously it totally was
9:34 that look when she realizes he's completely right.
That show had the best actors honestly
Foreman: cameron is a friend
foreman in s2: we're not friends. we're colleagues
he was just hating cuz he didnt want to apologize for stealing the paper
I don’t know if I’m reading too much into this but when Wilson says “I think she likes lame” I think he literally gave House the “answer” he was looking for in terms of the reasoning as to why she likes him. She literally LIKES LAME.
WOW. That is one heck of an observation about Cameron.
Say what you will about the character of House, he knew his team members, inside & out.
An absolute requirement was that all of them had to be brilliant but what set them apart from all the other candidates was their character, their viewpoints, & what made them tick. Put them all together, & you had one heck of a rounded-out team. House was brilliant!
Shame they stripped all that away from Foreman later on
By your rationale, the things that made him special are what they pivoted and made Chase into
But yes for now, very well rounded and excellent, House keen eyed and minded as ever
Really calls out her relationship with Chase later on, too. It basically boils down to the same problems, only taken to the extreme because they got further along.
House said he hired Cameron because she was beautiful.😂
@@timmy-wj2hcnot only, but because for him, the fact she is this beautiful and still chose to be a doctor (instead of a Dr's wife) means that she has a secret flaw, that she has also been damaged, which gave her a strong motivation to do her job
@@timmy-wj2hc Worse, he hired her because she was "pretty".
Mostly the same thing, but "Beautiful" is a word that tends to be attached to some kind of value judgement, usually about their character or their value.
"Pretty" (especially as regards their conversation) really just means "nice to look at" in the superficial sense.
ALTHOUGH, watching that scene again, he does say that she was pretty enough not to have to work as hard as she did, but she did it anyway, so even if it's gross and misogynistic, he really respects her drive.
If Chase or Foreman were asked by House to go on a date:
Foreman: Eww. Brother eww!
Chase: I ain’t gay, but…
Reminded of that meme
Chase would totally justify it as a guy and his boss having dinner.😂
No way hizzy
Crikey mate
Chase would go on a date with house to know him better and become him faster
I'd skip the dinner and get straight to the marvin gaye part.
I wish that patient was a recurring character!
This is when I knew the show had staying power. My jaw hit the floor at House's remarks at dinner. And while not 100% evil, it was deep, complicated and quickly delivered with enough time in silence to let it all sink in...
That restaurant scene was great. House hit the nail on the head for sure. We’ll done!!
“Do her or your gay” is probably the hardest I laughed all day
You're*
Sorry
I think House is educated enough to have used “you’re”
@@tutekohe1361excerpt it wasn’t House’s line, so there’s that.
Cameron walked into the date forgetting that, besides damaged, House doesn't let anything pass, and that includes knowing and pointing out her motivation...
I agree. House speaks the truth. He either doesn’t have a filter or he turned it off.
@@hollyb6885 He clearly chooses to ignore it
"Panty peeler," had me barking with laughter!
I'm easily entertained.
I just love willson's character .. he is one of the best friend you could have by your side. He knows house really well and always cares for him❤
7:45 She completely lost House when she started to talk about psychoanalysis and Freud.
Yeah even I know that Freud was a hack so god only knows what opinion House has of anyone who quotes him. She might as well have commented their latest patient might have fallen victim to evil miasma.
i always wondered what they talked about for the rest of the date. it must have been so awkward to continue the whole dinner after house said all that…
I would imagine that the date didn't last long and their exchanges were quite boring
It’s always about the game. House wanted to win, that’s why he said what he said. Cameron was hopelessly outmatched, & outclassed proven by the fact that he didn’t sleep with her. House won the battle and the war both, got her back as an employee by agreeing to play her game, and then put her in her place by verbally dismantling her game. With this he’s killing any chance she had at getting him to genuinely open up to her, and retains his role as authority figure over her.
So he followed Foreman's advice after all
“Do her, or you’re gay!”. Brilliant line!
The fact she told the terms despite House specifically asked she not, and feels she did nothing wrong. First sign the night wasnt going to go like she hoped.
Cameron: "I want to know what you think of me."
House: "So you have chosen death."
Why was the house Cameron relationship just teased for an episode and never followed up?
it was a part of Cameron's character
Because as House said at the end, what they had wasn't the basis for a real relationship and they both knew that.
Tension is better than satiety - at least in tv.
Maravillosa serie❤
Because it would never work. It was touched on in a helluva lot of other episodes but more along the sides of Cameron's perfectionism; it was like her one failure she could never win until a couple seasons later where she finally accepted it and ✌🏾moved on✌🏾.
But yeah man, it lingered on a while. There were at least two episodes where she was so stuck on it that it started affecting her judgments with patients, and House was half assed antagonizing her over it. It was a part of her character's growth over the seasons is all
the little buddy hangout in the beginning was absolutely hilarious 😭😭
"I'm allowed to sexually harrass my boss" Add that to the list of lines in this show that you could NOT write today.
Yes you could. As long as the actor saying it is a woman.
I am binge watching the whole show again and I can't help noticing how loved I feel as audience by their careful, thoughtful storytelling.
That is so well-put I'm keeping it.
Dr. Allison Cameron - she's got to be 70 - 80% of the reason I ever started watching this show. Thanks, Allison.
First season Cameron was beautiful.
I realized I like brunettes when she dyed her hair blonde.
Cameron was the kind of woman that drove me mad in my youth. Angelic, girl next door beauty, a soft and gentle demeanor (at least at this point in the series) and yet she wants the rule breaking bad guy.
She wants damaged goods, not bad boys.
She's a fixer.
That's what you get when you start quoting Freud in one direction while not remembering it's a two-headed arrow...
"I'm damaged"
Queue House looking like the worst Joker with the "damaged" tattoo. 🤣
Wonder what Lieutenant George would have done? Probably consulted captain blackadder. 😂😂😂
Lieu George would have ticked all the boxes like a gentleman. Prince George would have lavishly ticked all the boxes and been very smug about the whole thing. Prince Ludwig would have married her, with or without her consent.
> someone half his age horny for him
> refuses the advances and explains practically why it's a mistake to pursue him
And you say Bryan Singer made this show...?
That Smile 1:46❤❤❤
This is like Hannibal and Clarice on a date. Just about the only thing he didn't say to her was she uses Evian skin cream and looks like a rube.
Huh... Despite having rewatched all 8 seasons of Dr. House, I can't seem to remember this Episode.
1x20
I feel this is one that everyone remembers. Except you apparently ha.
I think Cameron would already have known this about herself, her need to fix the broken.
she knew, but didn't want to admit it to herself.. Like most people...
@1:40 that wink/ she is beautiful 😂😂😂❤😊
That's a blink
Actually not okay to sexually harrass your boss. Speaking from experience.
Wow I could get so hooked on this show
"Times up, thanks for playing" 😂
According to freud, House must love everyone! 🤣🤣
Dreams. Hopes. Aspirations. Snore.
House can sure call ‘em like they (usually) are.
Whenever a woman asks a guy about his feelings.....
"I think she likes lame" 💀
Man, brunette Cameron just hits different
...that was probably the nicest thing he's ever said to her cause he gave her a look within herself. ...just sayin'.
I wonder how many times it toke to film this one scene
Cameron's so into broken men, she didn't even realize she could break them even further.
That just makes them more attractive. /j
House. Nailing it.
How many of us made mistakes like Cameron. Try to get involved or do get involved to fix a situation, get someone out of an abusive relationship, poverty, or addiction.
I have to say I did it. Yes, it was a mistake. I learned. I'm old and joyous now. Had a great career, have a great wife, a good dog, a quiet comfortable home.
Last I heard she was still addicted to her own misery. Two of her daughters are doing the same with their lives. One is full of joy. I stay in touch with that one.
not only delusional but incredibly arrogant of her character to think she had a shot and have it be as simple as one date one evening for him to open up to her. as if that's all he'd need and she would make it happen. like... girl you've met House. so makes him that much more right about her and her selfish motivation that deep down she knew it *isn't* all he'd need and she *wouldn't* make it happen. he'd always be broken but she'd always be there for him because this one date wouldn't have been enough for him to be vulnerable with her but it would've bonded them that much lol amazying writing, i miss this show
"I am allowed to sexually harass my boss."
NO YOU ARE NOT 😂
Part of the reason men get married later in life on average, and their prime is so much later, is because they know what they want. And part of that I feel is demonstrated well in that last part. When you know what you want, that means you know yourself, you're aware of your faults, your needs and your strengths. When you know what your faults and strengths are, it's easier to know what the woman is looking for. Pretty much you know yourself to know others.
It's one thing knowing what you want and looking for it, but if you know what she wants, you're less likely to fall into traps, and you can avoid them to find what you actually want, or similarly you know what you provide and what others think of you more, so you can find what the girl wants and determine if you can provide that effectively. If you can't, then ask if that's what they want. Similarly House knew about her nature (which he happened to learn prior to this rather than during dating) and recognized his faults and what he provided to her, so he could easily tell what she wanted and whether or not he wanted what she did.
I want to know how the rest of the conversation went.
No, you're not allowed to sexually harass your boss 🤦
Nor can you tell a person how they feel.
you know humour right?
That line was a big ick.
You are if you're a pretty girl
She is beautiful
Gooned from the start?
His assessment of cameron says more about House than her. She might have a savior complex like a lot of wounded women unfortunately do and that many men exploit but he thinks or assumes something is wrong with her just because she likes him.
You love a person for who they are not for the fact that they are damaged. And House trough his observation skills is capable of finding this out beforehand. So he knew and I would also assume something is wrong with a person if they only like me if i am damaged. If he would not know before i would agree with you but he is House and his this amazing reading skills.
But House is also self-hating at times in all his relationships and sabotages them through his addictions and his need to avoid pain at all costs even though he reproaches other people for doing the same thing like when Wilson decided not to pursue treatment or for being religious which might be other people's drug of choice.@@62meta
@@62meta *All* the friendships and relationships on this show are based on one person trying to fix another. Look at Wilson and House, for example: Unlike Wilson's romantic relationships, this friendship holds, because House never truly gets fixed. I'd still call it an honest friendship, just -- to speak in the words of the show -- based on a different social contract than most.
It's okay to like someone just because they're damaged. There are even examples of romantic relationships on this show that are based on this. They usually don't work long term, but most don't. The relationship between House and Cameron doesn't just fail because House thinks that she doesn't love him. He's way too cynical to believe in such nonsense. Maybe he's afraid that she may actually fix him...
She specifically asked him how he felt about her. She just assumed it would be all good stuff. But House is a pessimist and was always gonna have all the cons at the forefront of his mind cluttering his view of the pros. What she could have done was tell him he was wrong. Or said "that's what you THINK. I asked how you FELT".
I honestly hated all of house’s love interests during the show, but this was such a low point
Shows how little you know.
i adored Dominika. and i believe House did too.
Antibiotic condoms? Hmmmm
black dudes got eyebrow game lol
House is NOT passing the autism allegations
Cameron had quite the ego, didn't she?
He could at least have ironed his shirt.
He puts on a tie, great. But he doesn't shave? For a date?
Why shave? Not all men like to shave. Some men prefer to have facial hair and not look like an overgrown 13 year old boy.
I remember House shaving only for an interview in another hospital and it's was made into a big deal by Wilson. He is not expecting this "date" to turn into anything so he probably doesn't feel the need to change his overall appearance. He already dressed up.
Idk the context for me and it’s making me very uncomfortable

Does she ever get therapy when her manipulative tactics stop working?
Crazy how Wilson saw right through that. But he still makes an effort for his friend to have a good time. 😄
He still gives him generally good advice for the date, already knowing that House could never actually pull it off. He is an amazing friend and the perfect middle ground for House and his team. 💯
