As a new Cricut user, I was a bit nervous about the idea of using various colours of vinyl for one project….but not anymore! Thank you so much for your clear, logical and extremely helpful video. I look forward to subscribing to your channel! :)
You were right when you said I would give up at the point of attaching colors. Thank You so much. I think I can take it from here. If not I will be back! ❤
I was so intimidated by this step of learning to cut vinyl on my Cricut. However, finding your video made me super excited and I’m going to make my first multi-color decal right now! I love that every tutorial I’ve needed since getting my Explore Air 2, you’ve already made and posted. Your channel is my new favorite. ❤❤ Thank you, so much!
Oh my goodness! I was on the verge of either giving up or pulling my hair out! Thank you so much! My husband said, "have you checked UA-cam?" Well, I learned my lesson with that one! Thank you!
This is one of the best videos I've seen! You explained this so well! After seeing this video, I'm pretty sure I can do this from now on!! Thank you so much!
This is the easiest and best tutorial I've seen, and I've watched a few. I just got a cricut and have been very nervous to try multi color, but this makes me want to!!!! Thank you so much!
I'm new and working on my first design. I had a question about this and you came up in my google search for videos. You are an excellent teacher! Just the right speed, your voice is easy to listen to, and with enough details, that I got it all on the first view ! 😂. You have a new subscriber!
THANK YOU so much for this video!! I have spent so much time frustrated and couldn’t find the answer to my (now) simple problem but you explained it perfectly!
First, make sure you uploaded the SVG and not the PNG. Sometimes, the SVG will show up as a Chrome HTML Document or a Microsoft Edge HTML Document. You can also look at the file size. The SVG is usually the smallest one. Then, you need to make sure you have ungrouped the different colors of the design.
I can follow what you did, and it is a wonderful video, but you started with a design already made and already grouped. If you do not already have a video (please link) that starts from scratch, would you please consider starting with the "text" box and creating something like Happy Birthday using multiple colors so we can understand every aspect of how you do multiple colors and grouping and attaching? Going slowly is really helpful. I have trouble with clicking on Attach and it takes all of my predone colors and turns the letters all the same color. Thank you.
If clicking on attach changes all your predone colors to the same colors, it usually means all the different colors are grouped together. Try selecting the design and choosing ungroup a few times, then try clicking attach.
(2/4/24) I'm sure by now you've figured out the solution to your issue, but I wanted to thank you for asking this specific question and wording it so well. I was having the exact same issue but including that my text kept being changed to print then cut. Your question and the answer/response enabled me to figure out how to correct my issue. If you're interested, I am typing my solution as a new comment, starting with "@ceawood2751". Hopefully it will help many others. Thanks again
So if you were to sale decals with 2 different colors how would you make it easy for the customer to apply it to whatever they were wanting to apply it to all in one
I would weed and tape each color on its own separate layer with the registration marks in place. The customer would need to apply each color individually, making sure to match up the marks.
ok I dont know what Im doing wrong. The first image came out great but working on the second image and grouping them is not working. When i go to cut the images. they are not where they suppose to be and yes Im using an svg file. What am i doing wrong?
what if you are making a multi-color design to apply to something like a boat, and you are shipping the decal to someone else - how can you line all this up to then have the customer apply the decal in one step?
You can add registration marks to make alignment easier. Here's a tutorial burtonavenue.com/how-to-add-registration-marks-to-a-multi-color-design-in-cricut-design-space/
I am screaming THANK YOU as loud as I can! This video is fantastic!!

Why doesn’t this work for me do you have to be an active subscriber to Cricut’s design space to be able to do this?
No, you don't. Make sure you are working with an SVG and not a PNG. Sometimes the SVG will show up as a Microsoft Edge HTML or Chrome HTML.
Ty ty ty I was soooo lost.
You're welcome! I hope it helped.
Thank you 🙏

I would weed and tape each color on its own separate layer with the registration marks in place. The customer would need to apply each color individually, making sure to match up the marks.
How to do this if you have an offset? Like a white border around a logo?
You can do it the same way, just add registrations marks to all the layers. Then, make sure you apply the offset layer first.
Hi! The ungroup option is not available with me, is it possible that you need Cricut Access to ungroup the designs?
No, you don’t need Cricut Access to ungroup. If you can’t ungroup, it’s likely you imported the PNG instead of the SVG.
I am brand new to cricut. This is very confusing. Do you have a way to show me step by step.
What part are you having trouble understanding?
ok I dont know what Im doing wrong. The first image came out great but working on the second image and grouping them is not working. When i go to cut the images. they are not where they suppose to be and yes Im using an svg file. What am i doing wrong?
On the second image, when you select the elements that are the same color and right click, is the attach option grayed out or can you click it?
If I upload a photo should I put print then cut or cut?
This will only work with an SVG file, it won't work with a photo.

You're welcome!
My group and un group are unclikable why? and how do i change it.
It sounds like you might be using a PNG instead of an SVG. Sometimes the SVG will show up as a Microsoft Edge HTML or Chrome HTML.
What if you don’t have a computer? My iPad does not give me the ungroup option
It should work pretty much the same on an iPad. If you don't have the ungroup option, it's very likely you imported a PNG file and not an SVG file.
Is this for any cricut? I have an Explore Air 2.
Yes, Design Space works pretty much the same for all machines.
Very clearly explained. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Excellent job explaining this! Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thank you ❤
