Lyrics:
[Sometimes I feel... like a motherless child]
(Yo yo guzzlin' forties, let's get it on fella, no doubt)
The Walla-bee Champ comes back
Iron Man strikes back (Lou Diamonds, Tony Starks)
Raid your whole empire
No doubt!
[Verse 1: Raekwon the Chef]
Rich man, poor man, read the headlines
Niggas gettin' murdered for spots and bigger dimes
Droughts and drug wars
Living by gun law
Jailcats come home and want to take yours
As a young one, growin' up broke me and my peoples
Had to sell coke, I guess we all in the same boat
Think it, plus drinkin' that 90-proof
Playin' on the roof sayin'
We need a next man to shoot...
[Sometimes I feel, like a motherless child...]
[Verse 2: Ghostface Killah]
Yo, I know a rich kid, who got hit for three bricks
Showin' off his 850 plush, with a nice whip
Young blood guzzlin' forties hussled in a rain
Old Earth, shootin' dope in her veins
He never had it all, the kid loved basketball
Had a favorite song, "I Miss You", written by Aaron Hall
Now back to the original, neighborhood, criminals
Clockin' dollars, by the hour like his digital
Styrofoam silencers, he rolled around with the
Wildest niggas peelin' caps known as the Islanders
From Staten, where crazy clips be clappin'
Slept in expensive gold spreads, threads made of satin
Labeled as the cow he had crazy beef
Seen him at the flicks, he pulled out on Duke, Hez and Latief
But he fucked up, he shoulda kept it real and went for kill
Cuz if he don't, these niggas with black barrels will
But, shit never calmed down, one day downtown
He dropped an ounce off
Money had slept like a nightgown
He rolled up in the Albee Square, relaxed like he lived in there
Two kids was beamin' him, them niggas from the movie theatre
One had all Guess on, lookin' like he had a vest on
The other Pelle Pelle tucked with a firearm
Movin' slow, baseball hats, crazy down low
Word life God, this bookhead nigga gotta go
Oh shit! Bookhead, just bought a 5G head
A King Tut piece, about the size of Little Maurice
We got to get him baby, no cousin, count to ten
I'm runnin' in, my first instance, is they're returnin'
The time is now, walked in and pulled out
Remember me? The nigga from the UA, and you pulled out
Don't move, don't even flinch, fix 'em up
Drop the head, don't want to get blood on the Tut
He burped, I shot him, bitch screamed out I'm robbin' him
Had to hit him ten more times, make sure I got him
Told the owner lay on the floor, shake the comedy
Granny came out blacked down with a half a shotty
I laughed, grab the King Tut head and the cash
Granny shot my man in the ass, and broke mega glass
Damn, had to go out with a blast
I shot my way up, out of the Albee, fast
[Sometimes I feel, like a motherless child]
Oh shit, what the fuck?
This shit is horrible
[Outro: Ghostface Killah]
Word up, you know how we do
KnowhatI'msayin'? No doubt check it out y'all
'Nuff respect to my peoples
Bobby Steels on the tracks
Word up, you KnowhatI'msayin'?
On and on like that y'all
Mickie Mirrors, understand the born, ready red
Big born ,yeah no doubt Now born, yeah
Niggas know the half y'all
Veriano, niggas know
Killer Cage, ya'll word up, you know the half
Niggas on the Island, Rikers Island
Word up, one love niggas upstate
Yeah, check it out y'all
Niggas know Lex Diamonds my right hand man, yo

While not an official duo I always felt that Ghost and Rae were the perfect duo always create magic when they colaberate
@@destinyprincessgaming3069 I guess even Cuban Linx, people will call it a Raekwon album but I don't think it would of been anywere near as good with no Ghost deffo a joint effort
Best if the best....peas in a pod.
Before wu tang they were biggest enemies willing to shoot each other. Destiny irony
@@bnusabeel never heard that before
Not officially a duo as in no ghost and rae albums where titled with both artists but in every other sense of the word they were a duo, they featured on the cover of many of each others solo albums
This is one of the realest story rap songs you'll ever hear
Ghost is one of the illest storytellers in rap. Hands down. Rick. Nas. OutKast. But nobody brings it like Ghost. His style is a motherless child.
True NY sound!
Wu Tang sound. NY don't have a sound. Too many immigrants.
93-96 best years for Wu...hit after hit, all songs could be singles
💯
Iron Maiden topping it all off.
93-99 actually!!!
Was about to like your comment until i saw it was at 36.
Ima keep it there
Better than every rapper and group at that time! Say it ain’t so…. ✌🏻
One of the most amazing samples and beats ever made by human ears... imagine how good you'd feel if you were RZA the day he made this beat
He probably made 5+ more classics right after man is a problem
And GFK said every beat from this album was just sittin in Rzas "Orange Box".
i.e. Rza had tons of beats like this laying around
still 1 of the TOUGHEST beats ever
word up
RZA/
Facts
Most definitely! Some of the RZA’s best work and he has many. Legendary shit from a legendary group. Had an army and everybody had bars!! Ain’t no more groups like this.
beat is something else
This got rocked again today vs Premo.
You can tell GZA directed this video, it follows the concept of "Cold World". This is a very underrated track. Notice how Ghost changes his flow when the beat changes in the middle of his storytelling, "...now back to the original, neighborhood criminals, clockin dollars, by the hour like its digital..." Also how he went from third to first person when talking about the assailants. Crazy
💯
The RZA was a “beats god”..... I really miss that golden age of Hip-Hop known as “The 90’s.”
Man U not lying …nobody ever thought the way rza did.
Timbaland and Preemo are tough competation
@@wojosquad4680 Timbaland? wtf!! that was commercial hip-hop with no guts. is like Swizz beats. just clean shit. RZA and maybe alchemist had the grimmy shit
@@Jzarecta Rza beats declined after Iron Flag and Timba land beats had futurisyic and clap to them and never declined to the degree of Rza's
@@wojosquad4680 Timba came in the 2ks, literally a whole era after, known as the bling bling era, which by many, was considered crap compared to the 90s, biggest exponent were Lil Jon and T-Pain. If RZA fell of on Iron flag, that was deep in the 2ks. Really a whole era apart from 92-99. And RZA moved on to doing movie scores, I call it evolved. Maybe you didn't like it but is what people do, Kanye did with 808 heartbreak and doing a bunch of autotune. RZA have done acting and directing movies while still dropping on point verses. Check his latest album of Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theatre.
Real NYC sound
This song you understand if you are a motherless child!!
Amen. 🙏

G had a King Tut piece, about the size of little Maurice...
That Harlem shit.
peep how he came back to that a little later on - "Fix em'up, drop your head, don't want to get blood on the tut". Best Lyricist ever.
@@TimP13 I miss the art of storytelling
WE GOTTA GET EM BABY
Ghost & Rae are an great duo / part of the Wu-Tang Clan. They know how to tell stories which we all loved. God bless Rae & Ghost . No one deserve to feel like an Motherless child & an Fatherless as well
I remember when this came out made me wanna hit tha block with the homies and get into some unnecessary bullsh*t. This gem here summed up my teenage years
That exactly how Mobb Deep makes me feel. 10 deep with the homies all in black hoodies and Timbs
I was a young 24 Year Old dude BUMPIN THIS SONG loud in my CAR back in the NYC STREETS of 1996 , lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Happy belated 51st BDAY to RZA 2020!!!
This song gives me chills everytime
Here in 2018, 22 years after I bought this CD.
2019.....23yrs after and forever
Ghostface & Raekwon kept it 💯
I was in Columbia SC when this drop. You wouldn't believe how many cats was banging this. This shit was like a ghetto spiritual gospel because it hit a core within us in the south at that time..thats why so many cats style was influence by this soulful classic...we became alchemist and recreated our own style
You must dont know how hard we rocked with the wu in the SC..a lot of 5percenters and we took pride in Masta Killa being from SC, so yeah we were and still are a big supporter of the W.
Lol lol you right too homie, I live here and I remember that 😂😂
I used to listen to this while I was as SCSU...
Facts!!
@John Kimber New York City destroyed hip hop.
drums were very aggressive during this wu era
i imagine ODB singing the refrain "sometimes i feeeeeeeeell like a motherless child..." - RIP
These 2 are magic together
2019-still bumping
One had on Guess on, lookin like he had a vest on, the other Pelle Pelle, tucked with a fire arm, movin slow, baseball hat crazy down low...
Best storyteller his lines be so descriptive

The..ironman strikes back!!!! Whooo can even explain how i feel everytime i hear this rae and ghost deadly combination rza on the beat whooo child !
I went to Westinghouse H.S. up the block from Albee Square Mall in downtown Brooklyn. When I tell you Brooklyn ninjaz respect this song, you will never know!!!!!!!! Classic shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fix your mug, drop your hands, don't wanna get blood on the Tut!!!!!!!!!!!! Wu Tang Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
100% You remember that "King Tut" piece in the jewelry store window at Albee too? I used to call it a Sphinx head, but Ghostface has own slang for everything. Shit looks mad different on Fulton now. It's a good look, but the soul is gone.
@@delvesdg Absolute facts!!! That's what gentrification does to neighborhood!!!!
One of my favorite Wu-Tang songs but I never really paid that much attention to the year I did not knew it was 1996 and I really never gave it that much thought about it
