    incomplete video...
    no mention of hot side temperature...
    what happened to the timer / clock ? how much times it took for freezing small ice...

    Couldn't tell for sure, but it appeared you just plopped the module flat down onto the radiator mounting surface. That method can trap large air bubbles between the module and the radiator mounting surface...even when you then slide it around as you did in the video. You should place one edge on the mounting surface and then carefully and slowly rotate down the module on that edge until it is flat against the mounting surface. That will help minimize air pockets.
    It can also help to rotate the module downward in the same direction as you applied the thermal material so that any "wave tops" in the spread material are pushed forward and out as you continue laying down the module. In other words, if you applied/spread the material from top to bottom (as you did in this video), you place the leading edge of the module at the top and rotate downward. When spreading the materrial, you also don't start "evening" the material by placing the tip of the spreader in the middle of the material on the mounting surface...all spreading should be performed in a single uninterrupted pass, starting from one side of the mounting surface to the other without lifting or pushing down on the spreader while spreading. In your case, you would always start the spreader at the top of the mounting surface and spread down toward the bottom in a single, even spread. This helps avoid changes in surface height which in turn help avoid air pockets during subsequent installation of the module.

    Very good video, thank you.
    But then, how do you put that on a CPU without the ice, the frost, which forms, melting and becoming water on the motherboard?
    And the warm side is at how many degrees? Is it possible to put it in a tower with one side that produces a lot of heat?

    • @matejmotuz108

      the ice on cold side wouldn't form , because if the cold side was od CPU , it wôuldn't drop under zero degree celsius

  • @MaxC_1
    @MaxC_1 4 роки тому +5

    Seems good but well I'm pretty sure the temps could go lower with better thermal paste like the Cooler Master or Arctic MX-5 which are generally used for CPU heat sinks.
    Secondly you should have used the grain method by dropping two or three rice sized drops of thermal paste in the middle and then press the peltier straight on it.
    Also I'm pretty sure the temps could go lower if it was tested in a room with low humidity which would avoid the ice formation.
    All in all, pretty decent video and well good job.

    is there a way to regulate the termperature that that there will be no ice/water? Or maybe use a heatpipe to transport the heat away from teh mainbard wher it can freeze as it like :)

    I am trying to bring the temperature of a 10 inch squared box surrounded by a 5 inches of styrofoam down to 20- with a single pelter thru a small hole cut out of the back of this box. What wattage pelter do I need and can it be air cooled or would water work better? thanks

    Change side and add a heatsink with fan. Peltier just for accelerate heat interchange but remember, overall change peltier side. Freeze in contact with cpu, hot is outer or heatsink side...

    السؤال الذي يطرح نفسه
    كم العمر الافتراضي لعمل البلتر ؟ بمعنى
    لنفترض اني سأقوم بعمل مشروع تكييف بالماء وتحويل المكيف الشباك او السبلت القطعه الداخليه لكي تعمل بالبليتر بدلا من الفريون .
    العمليه سهله في التحويل بالنسبه لكربائي
    لكن ما هو العمر الافتراضي للبليتر او بلتر
    وكم يستطيع العمل في اليوم مثلا عند النوم او التشغيل الطويل في اليوم
    هل يعمل لسنوات عديده او عمره شهر شهرين او سنه سنتين ؟
    الفكره لو عمليه فعلا ستوفر كهرباء حتى لا تكاد تصرف اي فلس
    ياليت احد يفيدنا بمعلومات اكثر من كونه قطعه مبرده وتحتوي على ثرموكنترولر .
    شكرا

    • @notyoung
      @notyoung 5 років тому +2

      Peltier is currently most useful for spot and small space cooling (CPU, maybe an EXTREMELY well insulated small fridge). For cooling an equipment cab, you need traditional compressor, condenser and evaporator air conditioning to move that much heat.
      Notes from some Peltier testing I did 2 years ago:
      Peltier cooling is very inefficient as an add-on. If a device is engineered from the ground up for Peltier cooling, it might work. Comparison between a small (3.6 cu ft) fridge and a very small (0.43 cu ft) styrofoam ice chest with 2 inch walls.
      In 20 hours of running, a 3.6 cu ft fridge used 1.52 KWH while maintaining 41F in a 74F ambient.
      In 20 hours running, a 0.43 cu ft chest with a 60 watt Peltier element used 1.292 KWH while maintaining 30F below ambient (44F for 74F ambient).
      1.292 / 1.52 = 0.85
      Cooling 0.434 cu ft with thermoelectric cooling requires 85% of the power required to cool 3.6 cu ft with a compressor refrigerator. Cooling 11% of the refrigerator's space requires 85% of the power required to cool the refrigerator.
