I don't think economy is even a big thing when you're looking at a lovely car like the E46. It's just a bonus it's better on fuel than the auto because it obviously drives much nicer!
Manual allll the way, soo many of my friends who got their auto license ended up regretting it and one of em even have gone and done a manual test to upgrade
Who buys an e46 petrol for fuel economy? None of them are good. Even the 318s are terrible. I average 22mpg in the city and the max I got out of it on the motorway is 29mpg. this is coming from someone that has owned their e46 for nearly 9 years now. The auto is much better suited to the e46. When I bought mine I test drove the manual and the auto. I found the box to be nice but the clutch feel was just terrible on these. These cars were made to cruise in and if driven for that purpose the auto is a winner imo.
You'd be surprised but that 330Ci averages around 25mpg in the city and close to 40 on long runs. That's very fuel efficient. The auto will nowhere near be as good. The preference for auto vs manual will always differ but majority would pick the manual due to the fact it's an engagement factor you're losing with the auto as well as the fact the autos weren't the fastest shifting boxes back then
If you're looking to buy a car, there's always an economical choice. In older cars, the auto is the poor choice for multiple reasons including economy. I can pretty much guarantee that the 330Ci is the same on fuel as the 320Ci so you can have your cake and eat it too at times

That’s it. I’m selling up my auto 335i now!!!
Quit playing 🤣
@@CarNitty for real!
Smashed it bro, Manual for the win. I've never seen an automatic van either so that's another perk of having a manual license.
Just watched the rest of the video.. nevermind haha
Manual license FTW!
Old cars for economy manual. New ones not much of a difference in economy, preference if you want to go faster with auto or more engaging with manual

@@CarNitty E46 manual inline 6 is real good and fun combo, you don’t buy petrol for economy 🙏

I'm glad people are willing to go back and get the manual after they regretted it!

had quite a few issues with the auto, including losing reverse. to be fair it was high miles.
@@CarNittyno one buys 3Litres for Fuel Efficiency and maybe for that car it's good for others it's not good. 😂
