Agreed, Pegasus for running, UB for casual. Solid point about the UB TPU cage digging into the foot when tightening the laces. Flywire makes for a great lockdown feel without digging into the foot.
Yup, the cage from the UB always dig into my feet if I try to run in them, but they’re nice for casual. I main the epic react for jogging and kinda want to get the Pegasus but hesitant to spend so much money on shoes especially as a college student :(
It's the opposite actually. The pegasus is too soft for running and feel unstable, as well as having less traction. Ultra boosts feel better whole running, pegasus feels more relaxing for casual wearing
Julian you’re in the minority. Or you got a bad pair of Pegasus. Basically everyone agrees the Pegasus turbo is the better runner. Ultraboosts are too soft for running imo
Just bought recently Pegasus 35 Turbo in Russia, light grey model, because of Seth reviews. Really happy about it, they are highly comfortable for walking and running. Thanks Seth)
I own a pair of ultra boosts and I tried on the Pegasus in store and it surprises me to say this but the Pegasus is more comfortable. The zoomx and react cushion together is not as mushy as boost but much more bouncy.
josh as a running shoe and lifestyle shoe it's not bulky at all. It's really bouncy and the upper in my opinion is better than the ultraboost because it's more supportive
Bro you nailed this comparison. It’s the same way I describe them to friends that are curious. Pegasus turbo is my favorite running shoe but I would definitely not wear them with jeans since they look too sporty to wear casually. If I’m chilling or going out with friends I still prefer ultraboost
This was a phenomenal comparison. I really appreciate your time and thoughtfulness. I picked up the Adidas Ultra Boost a couple of days ago. It feels a little tight as I have wide feet. I’m sure that the shoe will only become more comfortable over time as is wears. It sounds like the Nike Pegasus 35 Turbo will not be an improvement for me.
I still don't know why companies and people promote or develop this cushion shoes for running. There is research that shows that soft shoes fuck up your muscles and joint. Yeah they are comfy and look great to walk around.
Having had the turbos for 2 years, the react started separating from the zoomX before there was even a hint of wear on the outsole. A great shoe for lifestyle and running, just be careful when using them on trails
I've run several miles in both the Ultraboost 20 and the Pegasus 36 Turbo, they both have their strengths. I prefer the cushion of the Ultraboost, but they are slightly heavier than the Pegasus Turbo. I like to train in the Ultraboost, but If I am racing 5k/10k I am wearing the Pegasus Turbo.
Great vid! Fair comparison for all the points. I think the UBs have reached icon status for Adidas as well (e.g. Superstar, Gazelle etc.) whereas the Peg turbo because of it's nature (Pegasus line) will still continue to evolve. Both shoes are great!
both of these are very comfortable shoes but personally, I would rather run in the pegasus turbo because it's lighter and more supportive from what I've heard. I haven't tried the turbo but I own a couple pairs of ultra boosts and while they're very comfy for casual wear, they aren't the most supportive show and the midsole is too mushy for faster speeds.
Ultra Boost hands down for running. The Nike is so constricting and my foot is pretty narrow. The ultra boost offers way more arch support. My daughter who is 10 years old also wears the ultra boost for sports and she said they were like clouds. I totally agree. I def need that soft ride for my runs BUT the Nike is easier on the eyes for sure.
nice comparisson video Seth! BTW are you using the same size on both UB and pegasus turbo? i want to get the peg turbo but it is only available online so I can not try it out
I bought a pair of Pegasus Turbo at $105 ( retail price is $210 in my country) and I'm really satisfied with them for running. I usually run 10km every day. I can feel fluffy but bouncy while running.
hey seth thanks for the comparison. i work in film production and have to be on my feet all day sometimes and by the end of the day my feet ankles and calves are like jelly. i’ve tried a whole bunch of shoes in the past few years with little or no success - hiking shoes running shoes et al. i’m currently wearing puma ignite evoknit and those are better than the others i’ve work but still break down after 4-5 hours. i’ve also worn adidas response boost which too didn’t cut it. i’ve read a lot of reviews about ultraboosts and reacts and i’m tempted to give one of these a shot. which one between the ultraboosts, the odyssey react and the pegasus turbo would you recommend for standing about 8-10 hours at a stretch with a few minutes of sitting every hour? thanks for your help, cheers
Seth I got these bad boys and man no regrets. Your previous review was spot on, and frankly I might prefer these over my UBs. I still have to give them a run tomorrow and some walking tests, but the point of "feels better than boost when you walk but firmer with more structure when you run" is super true. They're so awesome!
Tbh in my opinion, i prefer the ultraboost for running... lemme explain. When i tried the turbo i cldnt rlly feel the cushioning and springyness as a result my feet was aching by the time i ended my run(i ran 5miles wif a speed of 13km/h for both the turbo and ultraboost) but for the ultraboost i cld feel the cushioning and springyness during my run. I do admit the turbo as btr energy return compared to the boost but the boost offers more springyness compared to the turbo. Then agn this is my opinion so no need to be too subjective abt it. Fyi im 1.78 and i weigh 65kg
The other thing not mentioned most of the time is that in the long run boost yellows out and bottoms out. When you’re thinking long term, I’ll take crease look problems because the cushioning and performance doesn’t get affected. Whereas bottoming out does. And I’ll also take creasing over yellowing
Turbos over Ultraboost after experimenting both all day for 2 weeks alternatively. Boosts started flattening out where as the zoom/react combo remained the same and actually felt even better. Turbos were lighter, fit better, felt faster and more durable. Also much easier to clean, the boosts becomes yellow and you cant clean that off, only paint
I have used both. Ultraboost is meant for treadmill running, nothing more. The TurboX is good for the gym, some trails, and other cardio based exercises. I love the Ultraboost for what it is: a lifestyle sneaker, nothing more. The TurboX gives both a sporty lifestyle and performance in one.
hi seth for a better perspective it would be good to know your shoe size and maybe also a quick bird eye and side shot of your foot when reviewing the shoes.... just something i realised after watching a lot of reviews
I hope Nike will do a lifestyle looking shoe with zoom x. With the same awesome stability and performance. Just hope for an awesome looking shoe with the best cushioning on the planet
Hey, great video! Im trying to buy a comfortable but durable shoe and I'm stuck between these two. Which one do you think would last longer out of these two shoes?
I have the Ultra Boost 3.0 and I can’t imagine anyone running in them. The upper doesn’t contain your foot at all. Super comfortable but how do you run in that? Maybe UB 1.0 and 2.0 were significantly more supportive because I know the upper was a little different, but the 3.0? No go. Casual only.
I think that’s why I’m such a fan of the UA Phantoms. Great casual look but still great for running. I have the 35’s and boosts but find myself reaching the the phantoms more often.
The pegasus turbo's look insane!! People are gonna be like "are you wearing sneakers or dis you shrink a pair of stealth fighters and put them on your feet" lol. Once my ultra boosts start to wear I'm getting the pegasus'! :)
I run outside a bunch and do at least 25-30 mins of running at the gym, should I get a pair of UB or a pair of pegasus for the gym? My underarmour shoes are the worst.
Ultraboost all day! I don’t know why but I can’t see or imagine another shoe with a better look and feel (boost) like the ultraboost. At the end of day the shoe game is always improving, so I’m still waiting for that day when another shoe dethrones the ultraboost Im my opinion.
I own two pairs of ultra boosts, and just picked up a pair of epic reacts flyknit, and personally, I like the epic react flyknit for everyday use, although I still love my ultra boosts
Maybe when Kanye wears another brand,, or jay-z,,😁 😁 😁 most of the guys wearing ub's are just riding the bandwagon,, no one knows boost even when a marathon record was made by a runner wearing it, I think it was called energy boost back then,, and then Kanye happened,, boom,, every one wants boost,, 😁 😁 😁 tho most runners won't wear ub's
The Zoom X is actually the bottom white color part of the middle sole. The React ( in light gray color) is on top of i midsole .Where it is written Zoom X is actually it indeed.
I don’t know if it’s the case for the US but the uk adidas website still has all the pharrell nmd in most sizes. Why hasn’t it sold out because I thought that they were hyped.
Ultra boost 19 in UK 7.5 fits me perfect... want to order Nike online now.. do you think size 7.5 or 8 if my feet is wide? Thanks. Hard to buy shoes without trying them on
I own both, and I think the Pegasus are better for running and more comfortable. I agree that the UB’s are better aesthetically, but that’s about it for me.

Damn 180usd?! In Malaysia, the pegasus only cost like RM650 while the ub still cost around RM799. Convert it back to usd its around 165 for the pegasus and 200 for the ub
I really like the war that is going on right now Between sneaker companies on who has the best sole or the most comfortable sole on a shoe. It sort of reminds me of who had the best air system or pump back in the day was it Reebok who invented the was it Nike with the air Force that pumped on the side AKA the David Robinson's or was it LA gear who came out with a pair of there on that was actually pretty decent for the time? This is a easy comparison to do the Pegasus or the vapor fly or the or the zoom fly vs. The boost or ultraboost however will no one mentioned the lcq technology from puma? They have been making some comfortable as sneakers as of lately and I think that should be in the discussion for definite.
i used to run in the regular pegasus and is was very supportive. My friend tried running in the ultraboost and said it was terrible. (btw i do XC and track for refarence)
Both companies need to put their technologies into some boots for those of us in uniforms... i HATE wearing my boots now and wish it had boost or react in the midsole (like my DAILY wish)
Agreed, Pegasus for running, UB for casual. Solid point about the UB TPU cage digging into the foot when tightening the laces. Flywire makes for a great lockdown feel without digging into the foot.
Depends on the model...I had to stop playing in the kd8 because the flywire ran right along my pinky toe and caused blisters on the inside of my foot
Pegasus cuts off my foot circulation when its tight. Ultraboost always a perfect fit.
Yup, the cage from the UB always dig into my feet if I try to run in them, but they’re nice for casual. I main the epic react for jogging and kinda want to get the Pegasus but hesitant to spend so much money on shoes especially as a college student :(
Save your money and run in what feels comfortable for now. The pegasus will go on sale eventually.
WHat about for the gym?
Pegasus for running. Ultraboost for wearing.
Riley Adams quote of the day
Nike needs to add zoomX to a casual silhouette. But since it wrinkles easily idk if that will be an easy feat.
Riley Adams which one is lighter shoe
I'm actually more impressed on how well the video is made, I can tell that it requires alot of effort. So keep up the good work!!

josh as a running shoe and lifestyle shoe it's not bulky at all. It's really bouncy and the upper in my opinion is better than the ultraboost because it's more supportive
Ezekiel Gunawan Your ultra boosts probably wore off.

I really love how you break down their up's and down's for both sneakers. Keep it up!😁
Pegasus Turbo is one of the best sneakers I've ever worn, its seriously so amazing

have fun dealing with sole creases
Soviet Ninja find the hypebeast lol
Joey Simon The ultra boost also have really bad lateral support and zero foot lock down

you should try minimalist shoes with minimal or none heel lift, your legs especially kness will thank later
I would run on Pegasus and walk on Ultraboost. Period.
I sooo love watching your reviews, man. Keep it up! My only issue with the Pegasus Turbo is the creasing.
just use a hair dryer on the creasing Ryan Torres - it works
Thanks, man. Will try it out
the red ultraboost is just .... hmmm ❤️ ...

Great detailed video of both shoes. Because of you and Hes Kicks I purchased a pair of the Pegasus.
I'd love to see the mid sole of the Pegasus on a different more casual aesthetic.
Good review - I would like to see comparison with Hoka One One.
Nice review Seth. I agree, the UB is a timeless silhouette!
Great vid bro! Love the honesty

only the turbos, not the numbers series
