Maybe you haven't formatted the usb and designated the proper format, in this case FAT32. You can right-click on the usb drive and you'll find the option to format. This will erase all data on the drive and format it, leaving you with a clean slate to start out. Then you can just load the files on to the usb drive as directed in the video. I have not utilized the download links provided here myself, so I don't know if the files are downloaded as zip files. If so, you will need to unzip the files before saving to the usb. Hope this helps.
@@Teeganknott1 I was just about to work on my PS3 as well, and that's why I was here on this video and saw your comment, when I replied earlier. I just had some issues of my own using usb drives with my PS3. I wanted to back-up all my data before I started messing with things. However some of what I thought were my best usb thumb drives were not being recognized by the PS3. I spent a bunch of time looking in to what was going on. I thought maybe the usb storage needed more than just formatting to FAT32 to be compatible with the PS3. Long story short, I ended up finding out that what I thought were perfectly functional usb drives were actually damaged from earlier use. They had been working perfectly fine for many other applications but actually had internal errors in the software that prevents the PS3 from accepting it as a storage device. Hopefully there is some sort of program available that will scan storage drives and actually show what is really going on and how to fix errors. Checking the properties of the thumb drive on my PC showed that is was working properly, but come to find out it was not. Hopefully this info can help you or anyone else who is having issues with using their storage drives.

I figured it out. The error means the data you stored didnt copy the file right. I had to copy file 3 times before it got it right. Try reformating the drive before copying file again too @ADIIssa-u4f @@ADIIssa-u4f
You left out the part about slim & ul. Slim. You have to use HFW 3.90.1 which is a partial hack for hen. But I can't get mine to take the update even in safe mode. I'm not an amateur. I have every emulator and bios. I Even got stuff to force on to a firestick they said wouldn't work. But I can't get this ps3 to take this damn update. Pmo
It thinks for 10 seconds then just says no updates availble..folder tree is correct, md5 matches. Since on error code I'm figuring it's not reading the jump. Tried 3 different ones. Any recommendation?
first check the usb if it can be detected by the ps3, I showed on the video how to do it. Forget about anything in the usb, make sure its being detected first, Once you see the usb icon on the ps3, that's when you worry what file to put in and on what folder

this is for all ps3s if u want cfw u can do it on all fats and 20x slim 25x slim isnt knowed ur might or might not support it and 30x u cant and also on all super slims u cant soo
what's up is the HFW only, we don't have the hen installer from the official ps3 xploit team. But if you really need to install hen, you may want to try the russian host. I have used them quite a lot of time already, but I'd still wait for the official ps3 xploit if pssible. tomorrow I'll post a video how to use the russian host to install hen

if the ps3 can detect the usb in the main menu, and you're sure the folder and filename are correct, then simply try updating on safe mode. it doesn't have to be offline.

you can connect ds4 with simply using a charge cable. and there are 3rd part ds4 that can also act as ds3 on the ps3
