My very first single. Bought because of the safety dance but immediately fell in love with this track!
Totally. Me too. I was already a Tubeway Army fan but couldn't find anything else like it. I saved up for the single for the A-side and then, BAMM, the B-side blew me away. Still love it in 2020.

I put side b of safety dance single on my record player one day when I was home for lunch from middle school and heard this and it blew me away
Cracking track should have released as a stand alone track, has everything a single should have you have to wonder what the group/management/ label were thinking about not giving it go as a single
In Oz, b4 it was a B-side to Safety Dance, it was released on E.P.
Same in UK as per Aussie friend below. B side of the Safety Dance single. Blew my early teenage mind. Still does, all these years later.
It wasn't even included on the rhythm of youth album which amazed me.

I had distant memories of that. Heard a cover(!) in a gothic disco and asked for the band. Then I got the best of, the maxi of safety dance, the LP with safety dance but I still wasn't able to get this song. Finally I realized it was only on the single b side. Pre internet days.
My very first single too. As with yourself, was blown away by this B-Side. I far preferred it to anything else they ever released.

This song has a really big memory for me... 25 November 1983 a very dull wet day and my drama class had a day trip to a big psychiatric hospital near Cambridge (UK) where we were shown how art and drama helps the mentally ill. I remember walking down all the corridors and this song was running through my head over and over, the words seemed to fit with the hospital and the people in it. I only have to hear this song and I'm there again... or maybe I still am. ;)

This is one kind of music that brought me to Punk Rock...was the B-Side of "The safety Dance"...the best Song of the " The hats" I love it....Thänx from good old germany....

Takes me back to '83, had it on vinyl. Lost it somewhere and had to buy it again. The best Men Without Hats song, I think. Security ,Recent album is great, This War is fantastic. Interesting, I was commenting on a Men Without Hats song. It's turned up in a smashing Ruts Peel session somehow. Listen to both please,.

Wow I had no idea that they reformed after sideways, I did not much care for that Cd, but this sounds good. I am going to check this band out again. from an old fogey that also gets into skinny puppy and the Art of Noise.

Totallement d'accord! Ca fait des jours qu'elle me trotte dans la tête sans que je sache pourquoi. Cette chanson a un coté reggae qui devrait être plus exploité. À quand une reprise vraiment "FAT" par un groupe reggae?

Bloody Hell I really enjoyed that! One of my all time favourites I had forgotten all about! It's a strange back-to-front song where it all kicks off in the last 20 seconds. I just saw "the Safety Dance" on TV and searched Spotify for this gem and it's not there - good old You Tube. Like others have said, one of the best "b" sides ever.

Gotta disagree as this EP release pushed MWOH through to the next level. When this song came out, It was different from most songs we were hearing at the time. That in itself places it in the top five.
Horrible jam by MWOH, one of those songs that you hear only once and forget! to the next song...
