Replacing My Landcruiser With A 957 Porsche Cayenne - Whoops?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2023
- Exit Landcruiser, enter 957 Porsche Cayenne overland project. Random SUV's getting transformed to be capable off-road vehicles may be one of my favourite things. Especially in this instance where a certain motorsport visual can be the outcome. In this video I talk a little bit about my new Cayenne project and give it, it's first wash under my care. It just drove halfway (kinda?) across Canada and was rather filthy. No decon, no polishing, no wax, just simply removing the dirt so that we can get started on the first step. Suspension. Very excited to absolutely drown this thing in products from friends at Eurowise and get it fully functional for the Canadian winter that is oh so ready to hit. Much love.

this man out here just living life and creating masterpieces.
Thoroughly trying to enjoy as many things as possible. Much love dude 🫶
Nice video. Congrats on the new ride. The color is amazing. I’m sure it will look much better after a polish and ceramic coating. Would like to see you drop a video series on this car and the “process”
Thank man! So you think I should make one solely on the repairs before modification?
I'll chime in and say "Yes". @@ChromaticGarage
Unloved colours, weird spec Porsches, corduroy, Turnstile, tan interiors - you already know how I feel about this video. After being in Iceland for the last week I love seeing these vehicles turned into all-weather adventure machines. Looking forward to this series!
Hahaha all the things we need. Thanks Jon! Iceland is a dream trip for many many reason 🙏
Epic cinematography, perfect music selection, super satisfying content. What more could you ask for?! Keep it up, dude. I tell everybody about your channel, and your videos lower my blood pressure. 😍
Haha thank you so much man! Lowering the blood pressure is always the goal, I think
Sounds like the power steering pump has given up the ghost
That and the water pump are apparently two of the major fault points
The intro is brilliant man. Loved every second of it.
I don't know how to say this without sounding rude but after it the video almost felt boring LMAO... like, it absolutely wasn't and i watched it all but at 2x like i do the rest of the vids, while the intro I just watched at regular speed, savored it, felt like it was so visually interesting and so mysterious, so catchy, it was really incredible, I really felt like I had found a gem, someone who was making car videos in a different way, with an unique style. And after the intro ended it became "more conventional". The cinematography had really good, even great moments in the middle of the video too but the way the cinematography, the storytelling, the graphics, the attention to detail came together in the intro really blew me away.
I say this from the bottom of my heart of enthusiasm for what i see for the future and not in a hateful way or anything, i repeat, it is a dope ass build and the video is good, like, I watch conventional car videos often as well and I like them and I'm no one to critizice anyone for anything, i literally carelessly make videos no one watches, but what i mean is that if you manage to make a whole video with the vibe that the intro has it's going to be a legit masterpiece.
I think you're having a ton of fun with it and I respect that the most, some of the bits washing the car are interesting because of that and I can see that style i talked about before coming out, but I think that if you also manage to have fun with the storytelling element together with that, maybe a more cohesive package, something really brilliant can come out
Thank you so much for the kind words man! Sometimes it’s more difficult to carry out certain filming styles when you’re actually doing work. But I’m sure anything is possible haha. Much love
I really loved the land cruiser but this change is gonna result in some sick cleaning and upgrade videos so im excited
It sure will bro! Thanks for watching☺️🤝
I believe that each of these two cars has its pros and cons, but certainly, the Porsche is more elegant... I can already imagine how this Cayenne will shine after a perfect polishing job! Greetings from Brazil.
Thank you Giovanni! Going to be starting the polishing this week, I am very excited!
I always get really excited when a new project comes to the channel. The last Porsche didn't stay in the garage for long, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes this time. 😄
Thanks man! As a non sentimental person I only ask that they stay till they’re done. Lexus being done, this is the next step ☺️🤝
I owned a Cayenne Turbo a few years back, mine was a nightmare. Every few months something would break, and of course P car parts are $$$!
I will say this, I absolutely loved it.
That combination of speed and off-road ability doesn’t leave many options in the market.
Issues I had, suspension level sensors, onboard air-pump, headlight system, rear truck struts, coolant leaks galore,
Front seat rear panels, etc. Eventually mine bricked it self due to a faulty drain design that killed the immobilizer system. After 3 new keys, steering Column, miscellaneous parts and sitting at the stealer ship and several other Porsche shops for months I threw the towel in and gave up on her.
She was a Pain in the behind but I really loved that vehicle!
I sincerely hope you have much better luck than me! 💯
Oh man I am sorry you had that experience with it! It’s always a nightmare when a vehicle starts heading that direction. I’m hoping for some better luck 🤝
Checking back in, been a while. Love this video!
Thank you man!
The music, editing and photography of the channel are amazing. I just found out about the channel, good to know I have 4 years of catching-up! Looking forward for the next videos. I have been in love with the a idea of a jacked up cayenne since the white one with rothmans livery showed up to Monterey car week a couple of years ago.
Haha that is the exact one that got me hooked as well man! Thanks for checking out the channel, much love 🤝
Congrats! I also recently made the change to a 957 and am absolutely loving it. They are super capable. Keen to see the project evolve.
That’s awesome man! I hope it’s going well for you. Love that so many people are getting into them. Very refreshing
As if my day couldn't get any better chromatic uploads new vid 👍💎
Hahaha you the best. Hope your weekend has been nothing but simple pleasures
Man ... 6:13 that "whoops" lets smell the exhaust to make it not weird of the random bump stop was AMAZING ! loved the video and the little helper.... does indeed help !
Keep up love your vids ❤
Hahaha right? The sound of the doors makes her go absolutely insane. Thank you my friend! 🧡🤝
The vibrance and colour edit of this was the chefs kiss to that macadamia metallic paint 👌🏼
Thank you so much man!
Garage is getting classy!
It’s no X5 but it’ll do 😭
Love the nice, chill and tasteful music. 🎼
Thank you friend!
I have owned a overland 2008 manual Cayenne and now am building a 2004 S. I feel like they really become fun and unique when one starts to do off road mods.
The color of yours is really great, I can't wait to see all that you do to it.
That’s fantastic man! Truly a treat to see them in manual. I am very excited to see what this one ends up looking like in some time
I love rare colored Porsches, can’t wait to see the build!!
Thanks Henry!! Can’t wait to get the suspension on 😊
Came for the 957 build ended up subscribing for your fresh style it's very satisfying to watch with a fresh cup of coffee in hand every time I see that rich brown Cayenne I crave another sip of coffee and the chill music is just the icing on the cake
I appreciate that bro! Plenty more on the 957 to come 🤝
Congratulations! Excited to see this Overland build series
Thanks man! Working on it right this second!
Oh dude, I am happy you got a 957. I am in the market for one so bad and I would love take it to Eurowise to get worked on a overland build!
They truly are doing it the best man!
I love the silver trim is looks so good!
It’s most definitely growing on me every day man!
My man, posting this video as I’m pouring my Gin, the streak continues, right after I’ve spent a day paint correcting an Audi RS3, just going to enjoy this 👌
Heck yeah man, good car to be working on. One of my favourite sounds ever!
One of my favourite jeeps, the adorable shop dog, a turnstile tee, absolute perfection as always? Always hitting the nail on the head my dude! Nice looking watch ya got on as well! 👀
Thank you Stephen! When you put it that way things seem to be going good haha. It’s a vintage Japan release Seiko called the Jewel Fish. Been glued to my wrist since January
Nice new project!! Here in Germany the Cayenne gets rare. But allways tuned on Turbo spec. Can’t wait to see the finished car.
That’s very cool man! Excited to share more about it. Thanks for watching 🧡
Love the colour of the Cayenne! Congrats! Looks amazing!
Thanks friend!! Hope you had a great weekend!
Nice score! Looking forward to the polishing!
Heck yeah Craig! Thanks for watching 🙏
Take it from me - check the sunroof drains aren’t blocked and that aircon condenser waste pipe near the footwell. Then that steering module ELV thing - get that done and it’s an awesome machine!
Heck yeah man! I’ll be sure to check those things out
exited for the videos to come, congrats!
Thanks bro! Hope you’re having a nice weekend 🙏
You call it problem, I call it “the progress”, I’d say that is more commonly heard when speaking about total buckets 🤣. This is a nice one, looking forward to seeing it transform!
Hahaha I couldn’t agree more! The massive oil leak ended up being the drain plug missing the o ring. Thank goodness 😭
The startup of the Cayenne with his V8 is so brutal. I love it! Awesome quality as always 🙏🏻
I agree man! Really nervous for what it will sound like with no muffler when the bumpers go on 😭
Congrats! Excited to see what you do with it! Beautiful video as always
Thanks man! Very excited to get it going 🤝
Love the Porsche!!! Those can be had for not much money. They have the fastest depreciation of any car, which makes it a bargain for the used car segment. Really looking forward to this project!!!!
It’s basically a Maserati haha. But yeah man I got it for far less than half the price of the landcruiser ☺️. Very exited
So happy to see start a new project , even if there’s like 2 still going, we are all enjoying
Haha thanks man. Would love to finish one but also love the work😭
I’m Kind of doing the same thing , I just don’t like to stay with “hands folded”
Great video. Looking forward to your plans for it.👍👍👍
Thanks man! Suspension video coming next week 🙏
Chromatic is back at it, Video on point as usual !!1
Thank you Abel!🤝🤝
@@ChromaticGarage video quality with editing and music background adds to these video series, keep it going we appreciate you sharing these car projects
your videos are cinematic masterpieces
Thank you brotha!!
This man is an artist! 💯🔝
Thank you Raphael!🙏
I support filming the boring maintenance stuff. 👍
It was actually such an easy fix that it wouldn’t have made sense to fill. Oil drain plug was put back missing the O ring
Congrats on the Cayenne! I think it really suits the garage. Looking forward to this project!👍🏼
Thanks friend! Suspension video coming next week 😁
The brown is so good 😍
I love it man!
This is going to be an amazing series. I love these cars.
I’m hyped man! Hope you’re doing well!
Such a fantastic video once again. Super stoked for the build of this, always wanted a Cayenne or the OG Taureg with the V10 Diesel.
Heck yeah, thanks man! The V10 Touareg is like a damn super car. Would be an insane vehicle to own 🧡
Fantastic video Mike
Just came across you as I’m doing some cayenne research, and I got to say, great video and visuals. Learnt nothing new, but enjoyed sitting through all of it start to finish.
Will go and check out your BMW content now, as I am an old BMW head too.
Mex 👊🏻
Thank you for watching brotha! Glad you enjoyed it 🤝
Nice choice, definitely something to be said about the ability to make something your own!
Most definitely my friend! Thanks for watching 😊
such a nice video, great work!
Thank you very much bro!
Insane, right again🔥
Had a 957 Turbo. Extremely competent off-road, just shoddy brakes. Good choice!
That’s what I keep hearing about the brakes! Need more pistons 😔
@@ChromaticGaragenothing that can't be upgraded :) I sold mine before I had a chance to do that, but that's the single most important upgrade. Good luck!
You are so good guys!
Thanks brotha!
Super content.
Much love 😔
White wheels would look amazing. Those stock ones almost look white too
White wheels it is!
Really cool! Nice video💯
Thank you!
Id take the vertical trim off the backs of the doors and paint it gloss black and leave the rest silver/brushed. Matches the brown well but its just a little too much
That’s a good idea. I may try that. Some of them are optioned like that from the factory
this cayenne model is way more capable than you think outdoors. ;)
I’m hyped to find out man!
They are like the Boxster 986 egg fried headlights on it lol i have a 99 boxster zenith metallic blue 1 previous owner wih 21k miles as new condition garage parked under Porsche car cover since new still on the original Michelin tyres like time warp condition 100% original full Porsche servive history rust free never driven in the rain near concourse condition 👍your Porsche is fantastic it will be better than new when your finished amazing love the channel 👍❤💎
That’s very very very cool! Time capsule indeed! Thank you! Very excited to share more stuff on it 😊
@@ChromaticGarage cool bro thanks for the reply ive actually filmed the car today for you to see its the first time the garage has been opened in 5 years the car has been parked in the same spot for 9 years ill upload more vids soon love your channel by the way💎 👍😁🇬🇧🇺🇸❤
Hi bud just starting uploading a couple of shorts on Yt for you 👍 the garage door has been locked broken so finally got it open today for the first time in 5years so I removed the cover to take a look i will film the interior when new battery fitted I didn't want to open the doors because of the windows not being able to drop down when you pull the door handle 😎👍 Porsche 986 (barn find) on yt thanks again 👌
Stoked to see this progress. Love the color! Is the LC sold already!?
The brown will look amazing once you polish it and coat it. Gonne be a cool series as usual dude!
Thanks man! Very excited to get it going 😺
Good choice! I am a porsche fan myself though I am owning 2 audi’s at the moment, I am buying a porsche coupe in the future for sure
We all need a Porsche coupe at some point man! Hopefully in GT format 😊
we love cars and hardcore music
Awesome 👍
Thanks Tom!
Man..glad i found this channel!! Love the content..especially the e30 & e34 because i also have both cars and a gx470..😅
Haha thanks man! Glad you stumbled upon it!🙏
Nice color combo ❤ bro don’t forget about the E34 it’s been 5 months
Video this week!
Love the content
The Lexus 😩 noooooo!
Porsche is going to look sick though 👌🏼
I feel the same way bro! Gotta trust this one though 😭
nice editing man
Thank you brotha!!
Bruh the LC went too hard. Excited to see what happens with the Cayenne.
… should’ve kept the LC also tho 😅
I still have it but no need for 2!
Landcruisers are going for big $$$$. Nice to see you jumping into the PCar game. 957s are rock solid with some basic maintenance. Friend of mine has a 956 TT and took really minimal work to refresh it. Was a Ontario spec car tho so it was rusted pretty bad underneath :-/
Ontario likes to pretty much ruin everything for us doesn’t it haha. Excited to sell the landcruiser and see what I can get!
Gonna miss the Lexus but the Cayenne is just as nice!
Hoping it turns out real cool dilllly!🧡
If you want some spice and worries get yourself an older BMW X5! Lol. Jk. Absolutely loved the Lexus however I also do love Porsche as well. Would be my first choice as far as a supercar would go. Can't wait to see it in it's final form!! Dope vid as always!! 🤘👌
Haha some friends have done such a good job with those older X5’s. Maybe I’ll try eventually 😭
@@ChromaticGarage .. I've got a question though. Who won the car dryer?
@@Mr.SparkleOG it went to a guy in Poland! $350 in shipping 😭. But will always keep that stuff open to anyone. Gotta show love
@@ChromaticGarage Heck yeah!! That's bad ass man!! Congrats to Mr Poland!
jeez that's crazy
A promising crazy 😭
can't wait to see the next one
Btw i was thinking : It seems like you're doing "european car enthusiast" buying choices
I mean, the e36, e34 and Cayenne aren't so common in north america, are they ? Here in Europe (France especially) we have a big fanbase of e36s, as well as Cayenne as the "dependable-but-sometimes-expensive" 2000s SUV
You’re definitely right! I wouldn’t say they are super common but people have them. Just not the norm as I imagine they are over there. Thanks for checking in man!
Great intro music
Thanks friend!
wrap it pink! With green calipers
Bro likes watermelon a little too much
There’s even an 8C spider in macadamia metallic that was requested by the customer for an additional fee.
That is really really cool here. Would love to see it!
I just picked up a 957 Turbo. Congrats man! If your aluminum trim is oxidized I would love to see your process on polishing it if even possible. Mine is and it drives me nuts. Good choice!
Heck yeah man! That’s awesome. Hope you are enjoying it 🙏
Yet another amazing video! Can I ask what foamer you used on the wheels and drying towel? Keep up the fantastic work 🙌
Thanks man! This was a Marolex sprayer!
But. I respect the choice ❤
Haha thanks man!🙏
Very nice! Looking forward to this build series. If you don't mind me asking, which foamer are you using?
Thanks man! This one was the marolex I believe it’s called. Pretty good!
I need your special detailing treatment on my X5 M-Sport!
Haha thanks man! If I remember correctly I have watched a bunch of your videos to solve problems in the past🙏
YOOO the turnstile shirt 👀👀👀👀
Music is good 🖐️
Saw them play two days ago. Confirmed
Your filming, editing, lighting, and colors are perfect. Nice episode! Being the detailer you are, how do you deal with potential chassis and body salt corrosion? Maybe you just don't driver them in the winter? Are the roads salted year-around or just in the winter? I know some people use fluid-film or something similar for protection. For me, that situation would be one big PITA, haha.
Thank you Michael! Honestly for me there’s a bit of “ignorance is bliss” when it comes to winter. I don’t really plan on keeping any of my daily driven vehicles so as long as the starting point isn’t terrible I’ll personally be fine. However from what I have gathered most people get their vehicles professional oil sprayed. It’s a petroleum based product in most instances and goes on key areas underneath as well as inside of most panels. Seems to work great! Kinda messy/ugly though
@@ChromaticGarage Haha, I get that rationale. And who doesn't want to experience different vehicles regularly anyway!
Hello from Russia
Much love from Canada 🙏
I went from 3rd gen 4runner to a 957 S and still have mixed feelings. The 3" lift from eurowise + tires helped a lot from a visual and clearance standpoint though. Good luck with the project.
Forsure man! Nothing really better than another. I just have a goal to experience a bunch of different daily’s
You can dress it up with your fancy names, but basically, it's metallic brown 😅😅😅
Haha brother literally every colour has a name 😭
Porscheeee rulezzzzz❤❤❤
Hahaha as your username would suggest
oh hai money pit..... 🤣
Hahaha seriously. Fingers are crossed for the best 😭
Nah man don't gloss black the brushed trim, it looks so great with the brown!
I have had it a bit longer more and I now I agree. I MIGHT do the pillars but that’s it
Something about Cayenne is the seats are the most comfortable I have ever sat it. Not sure why.
2500km road trip to as very very comfy. Excited to get more seat time soon!
Can we get the delivery/road trip video..
I tried! Absolutely did not enjoying filming that. Only here to do the things I enjoy ☺️
Hey Dude, congratulations to this beautifull car. In my opinion th brake calipers would looking nice in copper metellic with silver Porsche letters to the brown colour of that car...polished and a glossy shiny wax will make that colour looking awsome...the silver trim at the outside looks better in black i think...i will miss the Lexus.....i love his Character...Greetings from Bavaria....Alex
Thanks Alex! I think that’s a great option! I think maybe I’ll do a little rendering in photoshop to see what I like the most
Your welcome. here in Germany i used vintage copper metallic from FOLIATEC..it looks so much better in real than on screen...i don t klnow is it available in Canada.....@@ChromaticGarage
I'm watching your videos because of frames like 6:32
Sad to see Lexus go, but I'm curious about what you will do with Porsche
Thank you max! I literally make them for the excitement of getting a frame I really love haha. Much love dude 🤝
Did I just watch over 6 minutes of you washing the Cayenne 😂😂 Great filler.
All good enjoying your videos.
im kind of sad because the toyota was so nice and i connected it with your channel but im excited to see what you will do with the cayenne as a project! keep up the good work and pls do not sell the toyota :)
