    About the carpeted wheel wells, I think the owner might have done something crazy to them. My 2017 Cayenne has over 70k miles and my wheel wells are still like new. 👍🏻

    • @philt9126
      @philt9126 Рік тому +5

      Agreed. I’ve had Porsches with more mileage than that one and I live here in Calgary. No damage to the wheel wells whatsoever. Something odd going on there…

    • @ryancplays8598
      @ryancplays8598 Рік тому +4

      And probably the rear hatch replaced. Reason I say that is that this is a base platinum not an S. I’m it has the badge of an e-Hybrid with the acid green outline. Plus no green calipers for S e-hybrid (or red for S), and base exhaust tips (not the 4 round like the S).
      So definitely has some history to this car.

  • @ryancplays8598
    @ryancplays8598 Рік тому +3

    I have a 2016 S e-Hybrid. Liners on mine look brand new still.
    BTW, that car is a base platinum with the logo of an S e-Hybrid (acid green trim). Not an S either as the calipers are the base color and the exhaust tips are not correct.
    My guess is this car has had a bit of a rough life (maybe hit in the rear, and who knows what done to the liners).

    Great video yet again, really surprised by some of the lack of quality in the materials used on a premium model like this but what can you do that seems to be modern times. Love hearing your comments on the quality of the higher end cars. I have a 2006 Cayenne, and it does not have any form of carpet in the wheel wells. And after watching this video, glad it doesn't. Coincidentally, my car is at the dealer for service and they gave me a 2023 Cayenne loaner and I just checked, it doesn't have "carpet" but some type of thin felt like material. My Cayenne has black interior and I have a German Shepherd. Your recommendation for the Lily brush has made my life and car interior so much better!

I’ve thought about starting on some cars at home but I barely know anything about cleaning and detailing cars, other than you always clean your wheels first. Unless this is just snow and ice packing in those wheel wells and tearing everything up, there's really no excuse, they just used a poor vendor for those liners. Manufacturers go through periods where similar issues will often affect a number of their models--one of the most infamous was the biodegradable wiring(!) from Mercedes 20 years ago. As an owner of 2002 and 2009 Porsches with quite a few more miles than this one, I've had no issues with wheel wells. In fact, I've been amazed by the quality of the cars on the whole and the underside and corrosion resistance specifically. The notorious issues of Porsches from my era, were the stupid soft-touch interior finish that begins to flake, and the foam in the vents that degrades and spits out in bits. IMS bearings affected that 2002 era, but not the 2009.

    Those Canadian winters are the definition of hell for vehicles, bad for cars but great for you Mitch in more work and content for us. It must be so awesome to work on high end stuff. You always turn out jewels. They come in a pauper but leave as a Prince. Great pride in your work as a true master of perfection. A big fan from Louisiana. 😊👍

    Hey Mitch, I was wondering if you have any tips for getting salt stains out of carpet and floor mats. I live in the Minneapolis area in Minnesota, and my GF's floors are covered in dry salt stains! Thanks!

    Hello sir, I have recently bought a new car. Now I have ordered some products to wash the car and finally use a paste wax. But I read later some stories on internet that using a paste on your car will cause swirl marks? I'm really afraid to use the paste wax now. Could you please advise? Do paste waxes cause swirl marks?
