- In this video I give you step by step instructions on how to factory reset the Amazon Echo Show.
This demonstration is on the 2nd generation Echo show 8 but it will work on the show 5 and 10 inch amazon echo show as well.

F.Y.I. Actually it's NOT the best way to Reset AS I'll explain. When you "reset" your EchoShow this way it actually Doesn't REMOVE all the thing's that you have already Setup in your Settings, as you'll see if you do the Factory Reset "This Way."
As you'll see rather quickly when you set it the EchoShow up again that over 75% of what your Echoshow has "Learned" by the User is STILL in the Device and Working.
This RESET Feature Explained here is called a "Soft Reset."
You need to actually do what is called a "Hard Reset" to get it back to just Out of The Box State.

If the screen is unresponsive or stuck on the echo screen after rebooting, you can do a factory reset by holding down the mute and volume down buttons. Oh, and whilst it is called a factory reset, it still retained all of the info from my account before doing the factory reset soooo, it's not really a factory reset but did get me out of a hole where I was stuck on the echo screen and the screen was unresponsive.

You may try to reset it but the fact is that these mediatek-powered Echo devices cannot be made absolutely clean of our data.

I got all the options but nothing works when I press reset (it does work but like 30 seconds later)

I cant even get my screen to pull down the options lol back to amazon it goes...

No it will NOT ERASE 💯% of your Data do to the MediaTek Chip Rios device uses. It retains between 50% & 75% of your DATA Will REMAIN on the EchoShow device. If you look online you can use a Computer to connect to IT and Truly wipe it 💯% Clean for Resale Purposes. Hope this info helps you. Took me some research to Truly Wipe it. But the info. is definitely on the WWW.
my moms new husband has one of these and we cant get it to work at her house,[he moved into her house] we tried her amazon account , and his, and it keeps telling us its the wrong info. IF we reset it to out of the the box, why couldn't we use her amazon account? can no one have more than one of these in their home??

This doesn't work. Old users are still on the system after it is reset.
