No spoilers! I LOVED both games equally and loved the first season. As surprised as we were with Bella and Pedro's performance I think we'll be equally amazed by Kaitlin Dever. She is really talented. Plus Catherine O'hara and Jeffrey Wright will be a real treat. The ticking clock appears in the first game at the very beginning in Line 1, Scene 1. It is also REALLY prevalent in the 2nd game near the end, right before the Epilogue - again no spoilers but it's a theme. Glad they added it to the show here. Season 2 will only be 7 episodes (confirmed by Craig and Neil) so they will likely do what was speculated - the 2nd game will be split into season 2 and season 3. Two of the main characters for the 2nd game are still yet to be cast, but HBO has not confirmed a 3rd season yet so that leaves me a bit worried. Great reaction!
I'm glad to see them splitting it up. I was worried about 7 episodes and so much detail from the game possibly being lost in the transfer from game to screen. As for the ticking clock, I don't remember that. Then again, I might have blocked it out, thinking it was part of the clickers 🤣 Did you like the episodes that expanded on characters, like episode 3? - K
@@foreverfangirlsreviews Absolutely I loved Episode 3 but I've always been a big Nick Offerman fan so I was all in. I miss the interaction with Bill and Ellie from the game but I think they were able to show how feisty Ellie was in different ways in the show. I have a PhD in TLOU walkthroughs on YT 🤣. I've watched both games cutscenes 100's of times so that is why I recognize the ticking clock. I probably didn't notice on my playthroughs or know that it is used as an anxiety-inducing vehicle in storytelling until TLOU. You'll hear it in shows and movies now and be like - aha I know what you're doing! Best of luck, commenting for the algorithm
watching this trailer it feels like its a general overview of the two seasons to come to me. some events i see take place wayyyyy into the game even close to the end. what im most excited to see them pull off is abby and the hospital! if they can get the same feeling from the game i will dub this franchise the best adaptation of a game ever!
I have faith they can bring that emotion across. If s1 did anything, it was making us feel everything in a raw and vulnerable way. I'm sure there won't be a dry eye in my house for all of it. - K
Honestly can't wait for this season. I loved the second game but man oh man does it ask a lot of the player's heart. I feel as time has passed more and more people have come around to it and i predicted as much. Sometimes bad situations can turn people messy and seemingly irrational, and a lot of people don't have the patience for that in media. But once you've stewed on it you'll realize that all of the small things have so much more meaning on the second playthrough. Kinda difficult to talk about without spoilers but I did my best! lol😅
You did great! Still haven't picked up game 2. Watched enough walkthroughs that it hit hard.... but my controllers were happy I didn't play it 🤣 I do agree that enough time has passed to allow what happened to settle a bit. Not sure how I will feel when we get to that point in the series... but like you said, life can be messy. I read they're working on the 3rd game. Not sure if it's done before the series gets to that point. - K
im pretty sure they will make an episode 3 like for Eugene... im pretty sure the guy with the binoculars is Eugene and we get some backstory of him... this is not a spoiler its just me speculating.
You are not getting all of the 2nd game in season 2, there will also be a season 3 and perhaps even a season 4, so there will surely be some new content and they have also alluded to changing the chronology-timeline. Obviously HBO need to attract viewers and make money while both keeping the gamers and viewers who did not play the game happy.
It will be interesting to see where the end s2. I also wonder how close game developers are working with HBO, as I'm sure there will be a 3rd game. - K
Yeah and I'm glad its getting split up, as the second game and all the themes and subtleties with it, is enormous, and it has a greatly expanded cast. Yet there were still people that could have been fleshed out more - Isaac who we see here, for example, and I believe we will get a bit more of his backstory.
Hopefully HBO considers your points and develops S2 well. Heck. If it ended up breaking game 2 into 3 seasons - as long as it's done properly - we wouldn't mind. We do wonder if Nauggt Dog has some input into the story moving forward. If they're releasing game 3 in a year or so, maybe HBO works with them to not overlap the story of each installment. That would also allow more time for the 3rd game to be fully digested by the audience before the conversion to film.
Ugh... part 2 was my most loathed game of all time. (I'm 46 and been a gamer since the atari) I hated it, I came to understand later, was because of how much healing I personally needed to undertake. Now it's my most loved game of all time. I am still not ready for this season.
I started with ColecoVision back in the day. Still love gaming, but the 2nd game... it's a lot to process. The emotional journey is beautifully done and powerful in itself. But it is divisive, and I'm not sure Sheila will like it. I've had time to sort through game 2's story. She'll be processing it fresh. It's going to be a lot. - K
Yep, it is going to be a great season! Can't wait.
It really is. Hopefully they'll announce a release date soon.

I should watch all the walkthroughs. My controllers might thank me for it. - K

Ohh, that's an interesting idea. Would be great if they did it.

Its the most brutal and exhaustive game I've played, and I'm of a similar age to you. The journey's two of the protagonists go on, is something else.
girl on the left is pretty
That is very kind of you to say.
