We have the best fans in the world, as a reward we are stuck with this heartless monster that covered up and protected a sexual predator, allowing them to offend again and again. Until this man is fired, my wallet and support are shut off to this organization. I'm not watching a single game, buying a single jersey, or supporting them publicly in any way. As someone that was actually sexually abused by a male, on a lot of occasions as a toddler... I'm not mad about this.
    For many reasons... A) He wasn't the perp. B) People DO change... I've always thought that being sexually abused as many times as I was, I was never going to amount to anything. I'd have flashbacks of those horrible events, and it happened to me more times than I could even keep track of... But, after aging out of the foster care system, I started to come out of my shell. More, and more, I became a more productive person. I'm 32 now, and a bit of a late bloomer. But, because I've started to keep my past in the past, I've become better every year!
    While Stan tried to sweep the player's concerns under the rug... EVERYONE with a management role was doing the EXACT same thing at that time. It's just how the world was... Bullying people because of their past choices, and failures... That's repugnant. I'm sure you've made some horrible choices yourself. Imagine if everyone brought your poor choices up, and refused to let you move forward because of them?

    I'm a life long hawks fan and those hawks teams proved that the odonkey is clueless about goalies. None of those cup teams had an elite net minder. They did have excellent tenders but it was the defensive systems and stellar shot blocking like jarlmason. The key is winning is out scoring the opponent. Coverage of the controversial hiring takes up much of the 1st 4:00 of the excerpt although there may be more (TBD as I haven’t yet scrolled thru the 1st 10:00 of the video).

      @@wainber1 Single-handedly Jackson has destroyed the Oilers. No need to buy any products from the Oilers, go to any games. It's over. The dream is over to see the Oilers win the Stanley Cup. I would not take much pride in picking Skinner since he has a horrific plus minus ration. You won't appreciate how bad he is until it is happening. It's the same reason Kane sucks also with his career 50+ plus minus ratio.

    • @wainber1
      @wainber1 2 місяці тому

      @@Parture Picking Jeff Skinner was no doubt interesting for the Oilers to do although so was the Bruins’ pick of Elias Lindholm as a free agent. That means that respectively the Bruins and Oilers each have two players whose surnames are Lindholm (Elias the centre and Hampus the d-man) and Skinner (Jeff the centre and Stu the goalie).
      Whether the Bruins made a smart decision to pick Elias Lindholm up off free agency remains TBD although I don’t plan to underestimate the ability of them to make a deep playoff run next spring. It won’t be easy in an Atlantic Division any combo of whose remaining teams, bar perhaps the Habs, will be in the mix to qualify for playoff spots for much of the regular season.
      Elias Lindholm has playoff experience, having already made 4 such appearances over the past 6 seasons, having never gone more than a season at a time without such an appearance over that time span. Furthermore, last postseason, he put up a +4 and 10 points, five of them goals, over 13 games. Going into that recent stint with the Canucks, he had had a career -11 in the postseason with 17 points, eight of them goals, over 27 games.
      Jeff Skinner, who spent his most recent six seasons with the Sabres, put up in the regular season last season his third-best plus-minus with that team at -2, with those that he put up during the seasons of 2020-21 (-11), 2021-22 (-14) and 2019-20 (-22) arguably much worse. It’s easy to forget that the Canes, not the Sabres, drafted him, although also that during his stint with the Canes that team didn’t see playoff action even ONCE. With his NHL Draft team he put up, excluding preseason play, 379 points, 204 of them goals, over 579 games, with a horrendous -96. Given that up to and including last season he had, over 1006 career games with the Canes and Sabres, all regular-season ones, put up 670 points, including 357 goals with a horrendous -130, he put up with the Sabres 291 points, 153 of them goals, over 427 games with a still-horrendous -34. Skinner has taken a bet via a one season contract we orders although I’m sure he has an incentive to make a good impression as he’ll have the chance to make his first-ever Stanley Cup playoff appearance with his new team. These Oilers look on paper after all much better than the 2021-22 Habs, months after a Stanley Cup appearance of their own, ended up looking. How Skinner does with the Oilers remains, as he’s yet to play a game of any type of them, still TBD.

    Obviously his last 4-5 years were pretty horrendous in terms of moves he made and yes the core and the 2010 team was dale tallons work but people forget that 2013 and 2015 was bowman's work. Guys like Shaw, Frolik, Stalberg, Saad, Emery, Darling, Desjardins and Richards were moves he made that led to those respective cups alongside keeping most of the core tallon initially built intact. And while the trade part was questionable at the time, bowman was the guy who gave panarin his first chance at playing in north america, who knows if that were to have happened if it wasn't for that and even if he hadn't been traded, i doubt he'd still be in chicago today given that they're in rebuild mode and obviously he's having lotta fun in new york.

After Bowman took over, he did just enough to not fuck it up for two five years and then he royally screwed the pooch. Made horrible trades like Artemi Panarin for Brandon Saad, sent away young players after young players for nothing like Nick Schmaltz, Henri Jokiharju, Ryan Hartman, Adam Boqvist, Teuvo, the list goes on. Not to mention, he absolutely ruined the market by signing Seth Jones to an overblown contract all in the name of "staying competitive." He's a joke of a person and a joke of a GM.
